2021 Hooposense Tracker
GENERAL
This document describes the hoopoSense tracker, 503G1000-1A, installation instructions and battery installation/replacement.
PACKAGE CONTENTS
Each hoopoSense tracker delivered package contains:
- hoopoSense tracker
- 4 Cover screws
- Mounting screws
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The hoopoSense trackers are part of the horologic tracking system that includes a dedicated cloud-based application server. The hoopoSense tracker transmits various environmental and location parameters via LoRa and/or LTE CAT-M cellular communication channels.
ELECTRICAL
The hoopoSense trackers are powered by six (6) primary AA batteries. We recommend using Lithium-Ion L91 AA batteries by Energizer for optimal battery life and extended temperature range.
HOOPOSENS ACTIVATION & BATTERY OPERATION/REPLACEMENT
- Top Cover Removal
- Remove the four top-cover screws using
- a #1 Philips head screwdriver.
REMOVE THE TOP COVER.
Note: Pay attention to the sealing rubber on the cover. In case the
rubber has moved during the cover removal- place it back in place.
BATTERIES INSTALLATION
Slide the batteries in pairs as depicted in the following picture:
Note: Pay attention to the batteries’ polarity.
SLIDE THE BATTERIES IN PAIRS AS DEPICTED IN THE FOLLOWING PICTURE:

TOP COVER RE-PLACEMENT
PLACE AND HOLD THE TOP COVER ON THE ENCLOSURE.
Note: Pay attention to the battery’s springs’ direction. Ensure rubber seal
is in place. 5 . 2 . 4 .
TIGHT THE 4 TOP COVER SCREWS USING A SIMPLE PHILIPS
Note: Do not overtight. Use tightening torque 1Nm maximum
BATTERY INDICATION
1-2 seconds after batteries installation, the hoopoSense tracker should
beep- indicating proper batteries insertion.
REPORT VERIFICATION
1-2 minutes after batteries installation, the hoopoSense tracker should
report to the hoopoDashboard
Note: First activation may take up to 4 minutes.
VERIFY ACTIVATION BY SEARCHING
Search for the hoopoSense tracker serial number (Shown as BCCDXXXX. Printed on
the hoopoSense tracker sticker, see image below) and then by checking that the
time appears in the “Last Report” Field (See image below) is matching the
actual activation time. Notice that other data fields might show inaccurate
data until the first proper utilization is done.

MOUNTING GUIDELINES
The hoopoSense trackers should be ruggedly installed on top of various logistics assets such as various types of non-motorized ground support equipment, truck trailers, roll-off waste containers, and more.
OPTIMAL PLACEMENT OF THE TRACKER.
Optimize sky-view for better GPS positioning and Cellular communication.
The hoopoSense tracker antennas are facing towards hoopo’s logo on the unit.
To allow high quality GPS reception, orient this face with a clear,
unobstructed view of the sky.
TRACKER INSTALLATiON
- Using the supplied 2 screws, mount the hop sense tracker on your asset.
- Do not exceed 3.0 Nm tightening torque.
CONNECTIVITY
The hoopoSense trackers communicate via LTE CAT-M or LoRa.
HOOPA DASHBOARD LOGIN
The hoopoDahsboard is created with software called ‘Power BI’. In the dashboard, you’ll see all the current, historical, and summarized data of your assets.
LOGIN
- Enter the dashboard by clicking on the link you’ve received from the hoopo team.
- Click on the Log in button and insert the username and password you’ve received from the hoop team.
- You’ve now successfully entered the loop dashboard.
- You can also access Power BI by searching for it in the web browser search bar. If so, click on the ‘sign in’ in the top of the page
- Insert the username and password you’ve received from the hoop team.
- Click on ‘APPS’ in the left menu, and then click on the dashboard that appears with your company’s logo.
Note
- we recommend you download the mobile Power BI app from the relevant store.
- To log in using the username and password you’ve received from the hoop team.
ASSOCIATION TOOL
The association tool enables you to set the name and type of your asset, so they will appear on the loop dashboard instead of the hoopoSense tracker’s serial number.

Enter the association tool via mobile or desktop by clicking this link : app.hoopo.tech

Log in with the username and password you’ve received from the hoopo team.

Find the hoopoSense tracker by typing its serial number in the ‘DeviceID’ tab

Type the ‘Asset Name’ on which this tracker is installed

Choose the ‘Asset Type’ of this asset, if relevant.

Click submit.

If the details were updated successfully, you’ll see a success message.
Note: if you don’t see the success message, verify the details and your internet connection, and try again. -
View the changes in the loop dashboard
Note: it may take a few minutes, you can refresh the page by clicking the refresh button.
