• FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. DO NOT use this appliance for other than its intended use.
• Remove all packaging materials and labels before first use. Dispose of the packaging materials via the appropriate recycling system.
• Wash all removable parts before first use. Wipe interior of refrigerator and freezer with a damp cloth.
• A short cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping. DO NOT drape the cord where it can be pulled on or tripped over.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

This appliance is equipped with a 3-prong grounding plug. This is a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock. DO NOT use an extension cord with this appliance. It is recommended that an electrical outlet serving ONLY this appliance be used. This outlet must be properly installed and grounded. If you have any questions about the grounding or electrical instructions, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to modify the plug in any way. Ginny cannot accept any liability for damage or injury resulting from failure to observe these safety procedures.

INSTALLATION

WARNING: Risk of fire or explosion due to puncture of refrigerant tubing (flammable refrigerant used). Handle with care when moving the refrigerator to avoid damaging the tubing or increasing the risk of a leak.

1. Select a suitable location for the refrigerator on a hard, even surface, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
2. DO NOT install your refrigerator in any location not properly insulated or heated. This refrigerator was not designed to operate in temperature settings below 55˚ F.
3. Always install the refrigerator in a location where there is proper air circulation and an electrical outlet. We recommend 2″ clearance from all walls or other appliances on top and back, and 1″ clearance on the sides.
4. Attach a base (for a handle) to the refrigerator and freezer doors with the screws provided. Slide the handle horizontally to securely attach to each base.
5. Your refrigerator has 2 leveling legs which are located in the front bottom corners of the appliance. After properly placing the refrigerator in its final position, level the refrigerator by turning the legs counterclockwise to raise the refrigerator or clockwise to lower it. (The refrigerator door will swing closed more easily when the leveling legs are extended.)
6. To align the doors (if needed):
   a. Remove the top hinge cover.
   b. Loosen the top hinge screws using a Phillips head screwdriver.
   c. Adjust the door or put a spacer in between and then tighten the screws.
   d. Replace the top hinge cover.

HOW TO OPERATE

Note: The doors on this refrigerator are not reversible.
Note: If the appliance has been placed in a horizontal or tilted position for any period of time, wait 24 hours before plugging the unit in.

1. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet.

2. This appliance has 1 temperature control dial for both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. The temperature will automatically be maintained per the setting you select. 0 is OFF, 1 is the warmest, and 5 is the coldest. Begin by setting the dial to 3 and allow 24 hours to pass before adjusting the temperature, as needed.

3. To remove or replace a refrigerator shelf, gently tilt the shelf up and slide forward.

4. This refrigerator is equipped with a convenient can dispenser. Load the cans from the top. To dispense, draw a can out from the bottom.

5. This refrigerator has a clear crisper drawer for vegetables. To open and close, grasp the handle of the drawer and slide in or out.

CLEANING & CARE

WARNING: After your refrigerator/freezer is in operation, DO NOT touch the cold surfaces in the freezer compartment (especially with wet hands). The skin may adhere to these extremely cold surfaces.
DEFROSTING
Defrost the freezer compartment whenever frost accumulates to a thickness of ¼” or more on freezer walls. Frost tends to accumulate more during the summer months or in humid areas.

1. Remove food and ice cube tray from the freezer compartment.

2. Turn the temperature control dial to 0. Defrosting may take a few hours.

3. Keep the freezer door open and place a bowl of warm water in the freezer compartment.
   WARNING: There is a risk of fire or explosion if the refrigerant tubing is punctured. DO NOT use metal or sharp instruments to defrost the freezer.

4. Use a towel to wipe up dripping water. DO NOT leave unattended (a puddle may form on the floor and become a slip hazard).

5. After defrosting, wipe down the interior of the freezer. For thorough cleaning instructions, see page 9.

6. Reset the temperature control dial to the desired temperature and return food to the freezer compartment.

CLEANING

1. Turn off and unplug the appliance.

2. Prepare a cleaning solution of 3–4 Tbsp. baking soda mixed with 1 qt. warm water. Use a sponge or soft cloth, dampened with the cleaning solution, to wipe down the interior of the refrigerator and freezer (after defrosting the freezer). DO NOT use harsh chemicals, abrasives, ammonia, chlorine bleach, concentrated detergents, solvents, or metal scouring pads.

3. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

4. Wipe the exterior and door gaskets with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
   Gaskets may also be removed for easier cleaning. Make sure they are completely dry before reattaching. DO NOT operate the refrigerator or freezer without the gaskets.

5. The compressor located at the rear of the refrigerator should be cleaned at least once per year. Dust off the compressor with a brush.

6. DO NOT immerse any electrical appliance, cord, or plug into water.

LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT

1. Turn the temperature control dial to 0.
2. Gently pull off the light cover.
3. Replace with same type light bulb rated at 10 watts.
4. Put the cover back into place.

POWER INTERRUPTIONS

1. Remove the power cord from the electrical outlet when a power outage occurs.
2. Avoid opening the refrigerator and freezer doors while power is out.
   a. If the outage is for 2–3 hours, plug the power cord back into the outlet when power is restored.
   b. If the outage is for a prolonged period, inspect and discard spoiled or thawed food in the freezer and refrigerator. Clean freezer/refrigerator before using (instructions above).

VACATION
For long vacations or absences, empty food from the refrigerator and freezer and set the temperature dial to 0. Unplug and clean the refrigerator and freezer (instructions on page 9). Prop doors open so air can circulate inside.

MOVING
When moving, always move the refrigerator vertically. DO NOT move with the unit lying down or in a horizontal position—possible damage to the sealed system could occur. After the move, wait 24 hours before plugging in and using.

HELPFUL HINTS

• When storing fresh food, be sure to wrap or put food in airtight and moisture-proof material unless otherwise instructed. This will ensure proper shelf life and prevent the transfer of odors and tastes.
• Packaging recommendations: containers with airtight lids, heavy-duty aluminum foil, and self-sealing plastic or silicone bags.
• Eggs should be stored in the refrigerator in an upright position in their original carton.
• Hot food should be allowed to cool before storing it in the freezer or refrigerator. This will prevent unnecessary energy use.
• When storing meats, keep them in the original packaging or rewrap them as necessary Mark with an expiration date.
• Foods will keep longer in the freezer in air-tight packages. Improper storage will result in dryness, freezer burn, and odor/taste transfer.
• DO NOT refreeze foods that have been thawed completely.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Normal operating sounds you may hear:

• Gurgling sounds or slight vibrations are the results of the refrigerant circulating through the cooling coils.
• The thermostat control will click when it cycles on and off.

The appliance does not operate:

• Check if the temperature control setting is too low.
• Check if the refrigerator is plugged in.
• Check the circuit breaker.

Food temperature is too warm:

• Frequent door openings.
• Allow time for recently added warm food to reach a new temperature.
• Check gaskets for proper seal.
• Adjust the temperature control to a colder setting.

Food temperature is too cold:

• If the temperature control setting is too cold, adjust to a warmer setting and allow several hours for the temperature to adjust.

Refrigerator runs too frequently:

• This may be normal to maintain a constant temperature on hot days.
• Doors may have been opened frequently or for an extended period of time.
• Check the gasket for proper seal.
• Check to see if doors are completely closed.

Moisture buildup on interior or exterior:

• This is normal during high humidity periods.
• Prolonged or frequent door openings.
• Check door gaskets for proper seal.

Interior odor:

• The Interior needs cleaning (see page 9).
• Foods improperly wrapped or sealed are giving off odors.

Doors do not shut properly:

• Level the legs (see page 6, #5).
• Realign door (see page 6, #6).
• Check for blockages (food containers, crisper, shelves, etc.).
• The refrigerator is touching the wall. Move 1–2″ from walls.

Popping or cracking sound when the compressor comes on:

• Level the legs.
• The floor may be uneven or weak. Be sure the floor can adequately support the appliance.

Refrigerator light does not work:

• Check power supply.
• Tighten the bulb in the socket.
• Replace burned-out bulbs (see page 9).

WARRANTY

Ginny’s warrants this product free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the provable date of purchase.
Within this warranty period, Ginny’s will repair or replace, at its option, defective parts at no charge provided the product is returned freight prepaid with proof of purchase to Ginny’s.
Allow 2–4 weeks for return shipping.
This warranty does not cover improper installation, misuse, abuse, or neglect on part of the owner. Warranty is also invalid in any case that the product is taken apart or serviced by an unauthorized service station.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and they may vary from state to state.

THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THOSE OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
