What is USB 3.1 Type-C?
- USB 3.1 Type-C is a new generation connector interface of USB 3.1 standard, that is capable to support for the following:
- USB 3.1 Gen 1 support up to 5 Gbps data transfer rate and USB 3.1 Gen 2 support up to 1OGbps data transfer rate
- Bi-directional power delivery up to 1OOW, if both the USB host connection and the device support it
- DP Alternate modes, the signal is based on the DisplayPort version to deliver different
Not all USB-C ports support the full functionality of the USB Type-C standard. For more information, please refer to the information provided by the manufacturers
DP alt mode (DisplayPort alternative mode)
This docking station supports DP alt mode, which means a DisplayPort video signal can be transferred over a USB-C cable.
Because the docking station supports DP alt mode, so the Alt mode video port can output the video directly via DP alt mode without other driver installs.
USB Power Delivery
This docking station supports USB Power Delivery, which means it delivers up to 100 watts of power to your connected host laptop (your laptop’s USB-C port must support power delivery). USB Power Delivery is a specification that allows power to be sent over a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 cable that supports the specification.

Displaylink Manager installation
- “Displaylink Manager” software is required
- Without Displaylink Manager install, Displaylink video output 1 & 2 can not output
- Please download the “Displaylink Manager” from SIIG website or Displaylink website
- Follow the screen instructions to complete the installation and restart your PC/NB
(For Mac OS® 10.13.3 and the above, the system would display a “System Extension Blocked” warning while driver installing. Please allow “Displaylink Corp” at Security & Privacy setting.)

Enable “Screen Recording”
macOS Catalina 10.15 requires the user to permit “Screen Recording” in order for Displaylink devices to work properly.
- Because the new permission will only be active the next time you start the ap plication, macOS will invite you to “Quit & Reopen”. In Catalina 15.x please select “Quit Now” . Please accept.

- Why my laptop can’t get 100W charging? It depends on laptop charging spec, not all laptops need 100W
- Why Alt mode output has no video? Ensure your USB-C host port support DP Alt mode.
Every output has DP or HDMI output, but can only select one output at once.
- Why Displaylink output has no video? Ensure the Displaylink software have Every output has DP or HDMI output, but can only select one output at once.
• Why play video on Displaylink output will have latency or cause CPU
heavy loading?
Displaylink outputs are kind of USB video extend via Displaylink chip which
needs extra CPU computing. So Displaylink output will not fit to play video.
Recommend play video on Alt mode output
