Chapter 1 Product Introductions

1.1 Overview
The slim embedded computer P2102 and the expandable embedded computer P2102E are both with onboard 8th generation Intel® Core™ U series processor that brings outstanding computing performance boost up to 84% at a TDP of 15 watts, compared to 6th generation Intel® Core™ U series. To enable faster responsiveness and deal with multi-tasks with ease, the computer is equipped with two DDR4 2400 SODIMM sockets for up to 64 GB of memory. Powered by Intel® UHD graphics 620, the P2100 series supports triple independent displays (CDS/VGA/DisplayPort) and can play 4K UHD video smoothly via DisplayPort. At only 41.5 mm thickness, the P2102 offers extensive I/O to fulfill different connectivities and can easily fit into almost any space-limited environment such as industrial control cabinet. For wireless connectivity, the computer has 1x M.2 2230 E key and 2x full-size Mini-PCIe expansions to support Wi-Fi, 3G, and LTE modules. For expansion requirements, the P2102E has 1x PCI/PCIe x4, 1x M.2 2230 E key, and 2x full-size Mini-PCIe expansions which can be installed with various add-ons cards to increase desired functions. Besides, the P2100 series supports Control Function Module (CFM) Technology to install optional CFM modules for increasing power over ethernet and power ignition sensing functions according to the user’s specific applications. Featuring rigorous industrial protection, fanless/jumper-less design, wide operating temperature (-40°C to +70°C), wide range DC power input (9-48 VDC), high tolerance for vibration/shock (5/50 Grms), the P2100 series is appropriate for harsh environments and critical industrial applications.
Furthermore, by taking advantage of Cincoze’s patented Convertible Display System (CDS) technology, the P2100 series is compatible with CDS display modules and can be easily converted to an industrial panel PC of different sizes for selection.
1.2 Highlights
High Performance Per Watt
Powered by an 8th generation Intel® Core ™ U series processor (up to 4 cores, 4.10 GHz) at a TDP of only 15W, the P2100 series can fulfill a variety of applications that require high-performance computing and low power budget simultaneously.
Slim Design with Multiple Functions (P2102)
The P2102 is designed at only 41.5 mm height and provides a wall-mount kit for easy installation in any space-limited environment. Furthermore, a variety of I/O, 2x 2.5” SATA 3.0 drive bays, and M.2/mPCIe expansions are also available to fulfill multiple applications.
Flexible Expansions (P2102E)
Featuring 1x PCI/PCIe x4 slot, 1x M.2 2230 E key socket, and 2x full-size Mini-PCIe slots, the P2102E is capable of increasing additional I/O, or expansion cards to match your desired applications, such as data acquisition, motion control, and wireless communication.
Patented CDS Technology
Based on Cincoze’s patented Convertible Display System (CDS) technology, the P2102 can be easily converted to an industrial panel PC of different sizes by configuring with a variety of CDS display modules.

5.1.1.2 Programming Guide
To program the Super I/O chip F81866A configuration registers, the following configuration
procedures must be followed in sequence:

  1. Enter the Extended Function Mode
  2. Configure the configuration registers
  3. Exit the Extended Function Mode

The configuration register is used to control the behavior of the corresponding devices. To configure the register, use the index port to select the index and then write data port to alter the parameters. The default index port and data port are 0x4E and 0x4F, respectively. Pull down the SOUT1 pin to change the default value to 0x2E/ 0x2F. To enable
configuration, the entry key 0x87 must be written to the index port. To disable configuration, write exit entry key 0xAA to the index port.
Following is an example to enable configuration and to disable configuration by using debug.
-o 4e 87
-o 4e 87 (enable configuration)
-o 4e aa (disable configuration)
