floodplains or areas prone to sudden water flow. Choose a spot with
shade in the afternoon if camping in a hot climate.

Pitching Correctly:

Ensure the tent is taut by keeping the door closed. Tighten guy
ropes equally and check pegs frequently. Avoid creases or kinks in
the tent roof.

Tent Maintenance:

Allow ventilation by keeping the door open or rolling up walls.
Weather the tent by exposing it to rain to improve water
resistance. Clean any marks, dirt, or mildew spots promptly to
prevent damage.

Pitching Up Your Tent:

  1. Unpack the tent and lay it flat on the ground. If you have a
groundsheet protector, place it down first.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Finding the perfect plot
Look for a flat, level area free of rocks, roots, or dips that could disrupt your sleep. Avoid floodplains or areas prone to sudden water flow. Sandy soil drains well, but may be unstable. Grassy areas are ideal, but avoid pitching directly under dead trees or branches.
Morning sun can be pleasant for waking up, but afternoon sun might make your tent uncomfortably hot. Consider a spot with shade in the afternoon, especially if you’re camping in a hot climate.
For extra protection you can pitch your tent on a groundsheet protector which will protect your tent from condensation while keeping the bottom as clean as possible.
Enjoy the View! Nature is beautiful so try and find the most scenic backdrop to enhance your camping experience
Pitching Correctly
Before pitching the tent down fully make sure the tent is as taut as possible by keeping the door closed
Ensure each guy rope has been tightened equally, there shouldn’t be any creases or kinks in the tent roof. Be sure to frequently check that the pegs are secure and not become loose.

Tent Maintenance
Once the tent has been erected ensure you are allowing decent ventilation throughout the day by keeping the door open or opening the windows. For maximum ventilation you can roll the walls of the tent up!
You might encounter a few tiny leaks around the seams during your tent’s first encounter with heavy rain. Don’t fret, this is actually quite normal! While cotton is water resistant it can take a little “training” to reach its full potential. When cotton gets wet and then dries completely, it shrinks slightly. This natural shrinkage actually closes up any tiny gaps in the fabric weave, making the tent even more watertight for future adventures.
This can be avoided by leaving your tent open overnight in your garden during the rain, or by spraying it yourself with a hose. This is called tent weathering and it’s a very good practice!
If your tent is caught in the rain – ensure it is bone dry before packing it away – if you do spot any marks, dirt or mildew spots – make sure to clean them as soon as possible to prevent damaging the tent.
Master these steps, and your tent will be a happy
camper for years to come!

PITCHING UP YOUR TENT

Unpack your tent and lay it out on the ground flat in front of you. If you have a groundsheet protector please put this

down first. Make sure you locate the

door and ensure it is facing the correct

way.

If applicable put down the
groundsheet protector first!

Stretch out the groundsheet as much as possible. Locate the eyelets and smooth pegs and start fixing the tent to the ground – don’t worry about the elastics for now!

Once the tent is pegged in, open the tent door and bring the centre pole into the tent. Place the top of the centre pole into the middle `cone’ of the tent roof. Make sure you have metal loop at the top of the pole. Slowly walk the base of the pole further into the tent until it is as close to the centre of the groundsheet as possible and the pole is completely straight.

4. Bring the A-Frame inside the tent and assemble the parts together. Place the spike through the eyelet found at the top of the doorway. After this slot the feet into the pockets found at the bottom of the doorways. Make sure to put the rain cap back on the A-Frame on the outside of the tent. Finally secure the A-Frame to the door using the ties provided on the tent.

Before securing the guy ropes please zip up the tent door – this keeps the fabric as tight as possible and gives the tent the correct shape. Once this has been done start pegging the guy ropes roughly a metre away from the tent using the ridged pegs. You will want to follow the seams of the tent roof, the more inline, the more secure your tent will be. As you do this go through and attach each elastic rings to its groundsheet peg.

GETTING IT PERFECT

Your tent is now pitched up! But let’s make sure it’s perfect. Tighten the guy ropes by pulling the metal sliders up towards the tent. Ensure that you are doing this evenly around the tent and you are not making it too tight or you may risk damaging the tent. Its best to make little adjustments and keep going around until the tent is looking perfect!

Your bell tent should now be pitched and ready to be lived in! Make sure to put all your items back in the tent bag and leave it inside the tent so that you don’t lose anything – you’ll need it all!

Keep your tent ventilated! The best way to do this is by opening the windows and doors when possible. For extra ventilation unzip the groundsheet and roll up the side walls, being sure to remove the elastic from the pegs before doing so.

Ta-da! Your Boho glampsite awaits!
Enjoy!

PACKING AWAY YOUR TENT

So… the fun is over and now it’s time to return home. To make sure that your tent remains in the best possible condition there are a few things that are super important to remember.
Please make sure the tent is as dry as possible when putting it away – it needs to be bone dry! If it is not possible for you to dry the tent fully before putting the tent away it is essential that within 2 days you air dry it when you are back at home. The easiest way to achieve this is to hang it on a washing line or a clothes drying rack. You can also put the tent back up again in your garden if it is a nice day. For the best practices please remove the ground sheet from the tent and air dry both separately. Storing a wet tent will lead to mould and mildew growing on the material and it will ruin the tent.

First loosen the guy ropes to remove tension on the tent. Then remove all the guy ropes pegs. If the pegs are proving hard to remove try helping

yourself with a large ridged peg as a lever. Please

make sure that if the pegs are dirty you give them

a quick clean and a dry with a towel. A disposable

hand wipe is great at cleaning them quickly!

2. Remove the centre pole by lifting it up and then walking towards the door. After this has been removed you can then remove the A-Frame pole making sure to remove the rain cap first and then putting it back on once removed. Both these poles can be disassembled, cleaned and dried if needed, and placed back in their bag

3. After these poles have been removed you can go around and remove all the groundsheet pegs, using the large ridged pegs if needed. Place the ends of the guy ropes in the middle of the tent and lay the top of the door flat towards the middle.

Ensure the door is
completely flat – it should look like the image shown

Halfway there…

4. Fold the tent in half making sure the corner of the doors are touching. The tent should resemble a half moon shape. This is a great opportunity to see how much moisture there is on the ground sheet. If there is a lot of water on it this is the best opportunity to dry the groundsheet before packing away – making sure to turn the groundsheet over and dry the otherside too.

Please make sure the
groundsheet is bone dry if
possible!

5. Create a second fold, you will have a rectangle with a curved overlap like shown below. Make sure that the width of the rectangle is slightly smaller than the width of the bag. (5)

5

6. Fold the curved side back again so you are just left with a rectangle (6a). Make sure that the width of the rectangle is consistent the entire length to make sure it will fit correctly in the bag. Once you

have a rectangle then fold it in half length way (6b)

6a

6b

8. Put pressure on the tent to make sure there is no trapped air stuck in the material. Place the bag on the side of the fold as shown in the image. Start tightly rolling the tent from the edges, taking the time to release any air that gets stuck inside the tent. The best way to do this is to apply pressure while rolling by placing your bodyweight through your knees.

PACKING AWAY YOUR TENT
8. Once the tent has been rolled up use the straps provided to secure it and place it back in the tent bag. Please make sure the tent bag is empty and this is the first thing you are putting in the bag. Once this is in the bag place the tent pegs and pole bag back in the tent. And you are done!
Storing your Boho Bell Tent
Here are some top tips on making sure that your tent has a long and happy life! Clean and Dry is Key: Never pack away a wet or dirty tent. Brush off any dirt or debris, and allow the tent to dry completely before storage. Mold and mildew growth can occur on damp tents, damaging the fabric and shortening its lifespan. Loose and Airy: Avoid storing your tent tightly packed in a bag. This can trap moisture and lead to mildew growth. Instead, loosen the straps on the tent bag and store it somewhere with good air circulation. Away from pests: This is your tent to enjoy not theirs! Make sure you are storing your tent in a high place away from any rodents who may damage the tent. Cool and Dark: Ideally, store your tent in a cool, dark place. Avoid storing it in direct sunlight, as UV rays can damage the fabric over time. A basement, closet, or garage are good options, as long as they’re dry and well- ventilated. Pegs and Poles: Don’t forget the tent pegs and poles! Clean any dirt or moisture off them before storing them in the bag. Air it Out Occasionally: Every few months, take your tent out of storage and let it air out for a few hours. This helps prevent musty smells and ensures the fabric stays fresh.
