About the MJ20-ET1 Add-on Module
The MJ20-ET1 Add-on Module enables Jazz OPLC™ Ethernet communications, including program download. The module comprises:

  • An Ethernet port with auto crossover.
  •  Functional Earth Terminal, Screw to Earth Ground.
  •  Link/Active indication LED:

Installation and Removal

  1. Remove the cover from the Jazz jack as shown in the first two figures below.
  2. Position the Add-On Module so that the port’s pin receptacles are aligned with the pins in the Jazz jack, as shown in the third figure below.
  3.  Gently slide the Add-On Module into the jack.
  4. To remove the port, slide it out, and place back the cover of the Jazz jack.

Wiring
  • Do not touch live wires.
  • Unused pins should not be connected. Ignoring this directive may damage the device.
  •  Double-check all wiring before turning on the power supply

Ethernet Wiring—General

  • Use standard Ethernet shielded cable.

Earthing the MJ20-ET1
To maximize system performance, avoid electromagnetic interference as follows:

  • Connect the functional earth terminal ( ) directly to the earth ground of the system.
  •  Use the shortest, less than 1m (3.3 ft.) and thickest, 2.08mm2 (14AWG) min, wires possible.
