Introduction

Goldwood Acoustics HD-5 High Definition Series Speakers were designed primarily to handle significant power, respond to deep bass, and give exceptional clarity. The titanium tweeters make sure you hear ultra-smooth voices and accurate separation between the instruments, while authentic components are used to build the woofers so they reply note-for-note without coloring. You are free to listen as loud as you desire because each speaker can take 250 watts of power and uses a larger magnet structure than most speakers. They are wonderful additions to any sound system since they are simple to install and mount flush, whether they are used as surround sound home cinema speakers, in basements, living rooms for entertaining, or with multi-room audio systems. A cutout template is provided to facilitate complete instructions and the installation procedure.

What do two- and three-way speakers do

(We apologize if this sounds a bit obvious, but we are simplifying the idea for beginners.) Two speakers make up a 2-way loudspeaker, and each one is designed to deliver a distinct frequency selection, often high and low. As opposed to this, a three-way loudspeaker has three speakers, each of which is designed to transmit a different frequency range—high, midrange, and low. This provides you with a general notion of the audio spectrum each category has to offer.

The woofer and tweeter are two different types of drivers found in 2-way speakers. A speaker called a woofer is made specifically to reproduce low- frequency sounds, whereas a tweeter is made to reproduce high-frequency sounds. The mid-range, woofer, and tweeter drivers, collectively known as the 3-way speaker, produce sound. Each of these has a unique level of efficiency throughout a wide spectrum of sound frequencies. This kind of speaker can provide considerably clearer, richer, and more precise sound than ever before since it can be adjusted to operate in a certain range. Are you beginning to get a sense as to what will work for you? Not a lot? Okay, we’ll give you some more meat now.

How should I proceed? Two or three ways

A human mind naturally assumes that since a 3-way speaker involves an additional speaker, it will likely sound better than a 2-way system. But allow us to tell you a little secret. It really depends, though. Although it makes intuitive that using three speakers instead of two should result in improved sound reproduction, there are a number of other considerations that need to be made.

You should think about

  • How effectively is the crossover set up? (Note: Crossovers are used to divide the audible frequency range among various speakers. A good crossover configuration makes a significant contribution to the overall sound quality.
  • What level of quality are the components used?
  • What is the cabinet’s style, and how are the speakers paired with one another?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’m replacing Niles HD 650 which measures 6.75″ x 10.75″ edge to edge. the hd-650pr looks like them. are they the same?
Don’t recall the size of the previous speakers that I replaced, however they were smaller and they were also Niles. These are way better than what I had before.

  • What gauge wire is recommended?
I used 16 gauge and the speakers sound good. My wire runs were 50 feet or less. If you have long runs I would recommend 14 gauge.

  • I’ve looked everywhere to make sure I’m getting 2 speakers (a left and a right)…still isn’t clear. Is this price for 2 units?
Yes, it is a pair, 2 complete 2-way units. They are identical/ symmetrical so there’s no left and right in the sense of a designated mounting position. They are both either or.

  • Can they stand on a shelf?
they could but the backs of the speakers and passive cross-over will be exposed which aside from giving the set-up an unfinished look will noticeably affect the sound quality of bass & mid tones produced by the 6.5″ driver, this side of the speakers is meant to be enclosed within a sealed wall cavity.

  • Do these speakers have the swing-out brackets [arms] so they can be installed in existing construction?
Yes, they do, and they are very easy to install.

  • Kevlar speakers: what are they?
For use in home theatre and music applications, KEVLAR manufactures high- performance round and rectangle-shaped loudspeakers that are simple to place on walls or ceilings. This powerful speaker has incredible high-end acoustic capabilities and a full-theater sound intensity that can fill an entire movie.

  • Which materials in speakers produce the finest sound?
The nicest thing about plastic (polypropylene) cones is that they work well, have a high level of manufacturing uniformity, and are quite cheap to make. Because they are heavily damped and lossy, these cones have a significant benefit.

  • What is the name of the speaker’s front?
A speaker grille is typically found in front of many consumer and commercial loudspeakers. It is made up of a hard or soft screen/grille that is fixed directly over the speaker driver’s face.

  • Are two-way speakers effective?
The sound quality is frequently better if a signal is solely separated into high frequencies and low frequencies. Due to their affordability and ease of installation, 2-way speakers are the most practical choice for most car speakers, especially when compared to 3-way speakers.

  • Have two-way speakers got bass?
Do two-way speakers produce strong bass? Because they have a dedicated woofer, two-way speakers are effective for bass. The woofer handles the low frequency, but you can choose to add an extra subwoofer to enhance the low bass tones and enhance your listening experience.
