I’m replacing Niles HD 650 which measures 6.75″ x 10.75″ edge to edge. the hd-650pr looks like them. are they the same?
Don’t recall the size of the previous speakers that I replaced, however they were smaller and they were also Niles. These are way better than what I had before. -

I used 16 gauge and the speakers sound good. My wire runs were 50 feet or less. If you have long runs I would recommend 14 gauge. -

Yes, it is a pair, 2 complete 2-way units. They are identical/ symmetrical so there’s no left and right in the sense of a designated mounting position. They are both either or. -

they could but the backs of the speakers and passive cross-over will be exposed which aside from giving the set-up an unfinished look will noticeably affect the sound quality of bass & mid tones produced by the 6.5″ driver, this side of the speakers is meant to be enclosed within a sealed wall cavity. -
