About This Guide
This guide provides a brief introduction to the Tapo Smart IoT Hub and the
Tapo app, as well as regulatory information.
Please note that features available in Tapo may vary by model and software
version. Tapo availability may also vary by region. All images, steps, and
descriptions in this guide are only examples and may not reflect your actual
Tapo experience.

Introduction
Tapo is the easy way to turn your home into a smart home. At the center of it all is the Tapo Hub. With superior ultra-low-power performance, Tapo Hub connects wirelessly with a wide range of Tapo accessories. So you can easily control and monitor your home from anywhere.
- Smart IoT Hub Uses a long-distance, low-power wireless protocol to connect to battery-powered Tapo devices.
- Smart Alarm Protect your home security by coordinating with Tapo smart sensors (motion sensor, window/door sensor, and more).

Set Up Your Tapo Hub
Follow the steps below to get started with your Tapo Hub.
Step 1. Download Tapo App
Get the Tapo app from the App Store or
Google Play, or by scanning the QR code
below.| Step 2. Log In
Open the app, and log in with your TP-Link ID.
If you don’t have an account, create one first.| Step 3. Add Your Hub
Tap the button in the app, tap Hubs, and
select Tapo H100. Follow the app instructions
to complete setup.

Pair with Tapo Accessories
There are 2 methods to pair and connect the Tapo accessories (sensors,
buttons, switches, thermostat and more) to your Tapo Hub. Before you start,
make sure your Tapo hub has been set up and is online.
Note: There are 3 kinds of connection states of the hub, including Light,
Moderate, and Dense. For optimal performance, avoid connecting more devices
when the connection is Dense.
Method 1: Use Tapo App
Open the Tapo app and tap + on the top right. Select the Tapo accessory you
want to connect to the hub and follow the app instructions to complete
pairing.
Method 2: Use Hub’s SYNC Button

Refer to the user manual for how to put your Tapo accessory in pairing mode.

Single press the SYNC button on your hub for 1 second to enter pairing mode and the LED should blink blue.

After pairing complete, you will find your Tapo accessory shown in the home page of the Tapo app. Refresh the home page if you couldn’t find it.
Device Control
After successfully setting up your Tapo Hub, you will see the home page of the Tapo app. Here you can view the status of all devices that you’ve added and manage them. You can tap on the device to control and manage.

You can view the brief status of your Tapo Hub anytime anywhere and tap the
card to enter the status page.
Device Status Page
You can tap the mode to enable protection mode with one tap. Tap Protection
Mode to configure the settings.
Device Settings Page
You can edit the basic information, control the LED, update firmware, remove
device and more.
Set Protection Mode
You can use different protection modes to arm and disarm your home. Set
different sensors as trigger devices in different modes, then your hub will
sound the alarm when the set sensors detect events. With Protection Mode, you
can easily get in and out of your home without worrying about triggering an
alarm.
Your hub can be in 4 different protection modes and you can switch modes
easily with a simple tap on the Tapo app.
Home Mode: Use this mode when you are at home. Set all outdoor sensors
and door/window sensors as trigger devices to arm your home, then you could
move freely in your home without triggering your indoor sensors.
Away Mode: Use this mode when you are at work or on vacation. Set all
sensors as trigger devices to secure your home, then your hub will sound the
alarm and you will get alerts when events are detected.
Sleep Mode: Use this mode when you are asleep. Set motion sensors for
lighting as trigger devices for your convenience while set door/window sensors
and outdoor sensors as trigger devices for security.
Protection Mode OFF: Use this mode only when you want to disarm. No sensors in
your home will trigger the hub alarm.
Before setting protection mode, make sure you have set up your hub and at
least one sensor.

Go to Devcie Status page. Tap Protection Mode at the bottom to go to mode settings page.

Tap Home Mode and enter the Home Mode Settings page to edit the mode perfect for you are at home.
Trigger Devices: Select sensors to monitor your home when you are at home. Alarm will be triggered when the selected sensors detect events.
Alarm Sound: Select the sound your hub will alarm when selected sensors detect events.
Alarm Volume: Set the volume your hub will alarm when selected sensors detect events.
Alarm Duration: Set how long your hub will alarm when selected sensors detect events.
Trigger Devices: Select sensors to monitor your home when you are at home. Alarm will be triggered when the selected sensors detect
Before setting protection mode, make sure you have set up your hub and at least one sensor. -
Repeat steps above for Away Mode and Sleep Mode.

When all modes are set, go to the hub status page and tap the icon on the top to activate or deactivate the mode. If you don’t activate any mode, the Protection Mode will be off.
