Motologic Glow Plug System 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel
Glow Plugs
Base Part Number: 6M090 Base Part Number: 6M090
Right side
- Remove the Air Cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12C Intake Air Distribution and Filtering – 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel, Removal and Installation).
- Remove the right fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
- NOTE: It may be necessary to unthread the engine sound shield retainers from the engine. Remove the right engine sound shield retainers and then remove the right engine sound shield.
- Using the tabs on the top of glow plug connector, disconnect the glow plug connector from the glow plugs.
- Remove the left fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
- NOTE: It may be necessary to unthread the engine sound shield retainers from the engine. Remove the left engine sound shield retainers and then remove the left engine sound shield.
- Using the tabs on the top of glow plug connector, disconnect the glow plug connector from the glow plugs.
- NOTE: The use of an 0.3150 in (8 mm) deep socket with no internal shoulder is necessary for removal and installation of the glow plug.
Remove the glow plugs.
Installation
Both sides
- NOTE: The use of an 0.3150 in (8 mm) deep socket with no internal shoulder is necessary for removal and installation of the glow plug.
- Pull the glow plug electrical connector out of the outer sleeve.
- Connect the glow plug electrical connector to the glow plug and then push the connector down to lock the connector on the glow plug.
- Install the left engine sound shield and then install the left engine sound shield retainers.
- Install the left fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
- Connect the glow plug electrical connector to the glow plug and then push the connector down to lock the connector on the glow plug.
- Install the right engine sound shield and then install the right engine sound shield retainers.
- Install the right fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
- Install the Air Cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12C Intake Air Distribution and Filtering – 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel, Removal and Installation).
