IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

DANGER – As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts are electrically live even when the switch is off. To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:

• Always unplug this appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after using it.
• DO NOT use while bathing or in the shower.
• DO NOT place or store this appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
• DO NOT place or drop into water or other liquid.
• DO NOT reach for an appliance that has fallen into the water. Unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water.
• Unplug this appliance before cleaning it.

WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock or injury to persons:

• DO NOT use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
• Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near children or individuals with certain disabilities or special needs.
• Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
• NEVER operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or if it has been dropped into water, return the appliance to a service center for examination and repair.
• Keep the cord away from the heated surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around the appliance.
• NEVER use while sleeping.
• NEVER drop or insert any object into any of the appiance’s openings.
• DO NOT use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used, or where oxygen is being administered.
• DO NOT use an extension cord.
• This straigtener is hot when in use. Do not let eyes and bare skin touch heated Surfaces.
• DO NOT place the heated straightener directly on any surface while it is hot or plugged in. Use the mat provided.
• While emitting steam, this straightener may cause burns if it is used too close to the skin, scalp, or eyes, or if it is used incorrectly.
• To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitted from steam vents, test straightener before each use by holding it away from body and operating steam button.
• DO NOT place the heated unit directly on any surface while it is hot or plugged in.
• Always store this appliance and cord in a moisture-free area. Do not store it in temperatures exceeding 140°F (60°C).
• This appliance is for household use only.
• DO NOT plug or unplug this appliance when your hands are wet.
• DO NOT Operate with a voltage converter.
• DO NOT use this straightener to style a wig made of something that may burn easily.
• DO NOT use this straightener to style a wig that has been cleaned in something that may burn if it may still have some of the cleaner on or in it.
• Unplug this appliance before filling. Fill (reservoir) with water only. Do not overfill.

SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES

In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a means for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge of the system, and should be done only by qualified service personnel. Replacement pa s for a double-insulated appliance must be identical to the pa s they replace. A double-insulated appliance is marked with the words “DOUBLE INSULATION“ or “DOUBLE INSULATED.“ The symbol (square within a square) may also be marked on the appliance.

KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

• This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

STEAM CARE

The Professional Steam Ionic Technology of your new SteamCare straightener will give you faster and smoother results while reducing colour fade. The clever “Lock In Moisture” system comes with 3 settings – no steam/ low steam/ high steam for versatility in styling whatever your hair type or length. The advanced intelligent heat control – ranging from 320⁰F to 430⁰F – that continuously regulates the temperature of the ceramic plates will leave your hair with minimum damage and give you maximum control while styling.

PROGLOSS™ SUPER SMOOTH OILS

Every product in the Revamp® haircare range is infused with PROGLOSS™ SUPER SMOOTH OILS – enriched with Keratin, Argan oil and Coconut oil for ultimate smoothness and shine.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

• Before use, ensure the hair is clean, dry and tangle-free.
• For extra protection, apply a heat protection spray.
• Section the hair prior to styling. Style the lower layers first.
• Plug the product into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
• Fill the water tank of your straightener. Unlock the water tank using the lock/unlock mechanism on the top of the straightener (A). After removing tank (B), lift the black silicon tab and fill the tank with water. Replace the tab after filling the tank and re-attach the tank onto the unit.
• IMPORTANT: Filtered water should be used to fill the water tank within your SteamCare straightener.
• Select your chosen settings by turning the dial (C) on the bottom of the straightener: no steam/ low steam/ high steam according to your hair type or length.
  • For thinner, shorter hair, we recommend the “low steam” setting
  • For thicker, longer hair, we recommend the “high steam” setting
• Press the on/off button to switch on . The default temperature when the product switches on is 410⁰F.
• IMPORTANT: A small amount of water may spray through the five small apertures on the top ceramic plate when the straightener has just been turned on, if the steam settings have been selected
• On average, for a typical user, styling their hair for 30 minutes, the water tank needs to be refilled:
  • On a High steam setting: every 6 uses
  • On a Low steam setting: every 12 uses
• Use the touch temperature control + and – buttons to select your desired temperature manually. We recommend using a lower temperature to start.
• The temperature lights flash until the select temperature LED light becomes static on the temperature setting selected.
• Working on one section at a time, run the straightener through the entire length of the hair from roots to ends, without stopping. Use a comb while straightening for even straighter results.
• Repeat this process all over the head, allowing hair to cool before combing through.
• This is a very efficient product that doesn’t require a lot of steam to be effective.
• Please do not expect steam to be visible at all times.
• After using the straighteners, switch off, unplug, place on your Revamp° heat-resistant mat and allow to cool before storing away.
• For ease of storing, the straightener plates can be shut down together by using the lock/unlock lever as show in the Features section.

Please note:

• This is a very efficient product that doesn’t require a lot of steam to be effective. Please do not expect steam to be visible at all time.
• Regular use of styling products may deteriorate the surface coating over time.
• Do not scratch the surface of the product as this will deteriorate the effectiveness of the coating.
• While heating, during use and cooling, place on the Revamp heat-resistant mat.
• Only hold unit at the end of the handle.
• The product reaches a very high temperature during operation, please style with caution when using. Make sure to keep away from the scalp and skin to avoid burns.

AUTO-SHUTOFF PROTECTION

This appliance has an automatic shutoff feature for added safety. If the appliance is switched on for more than 60 minutes continuously, then it will automatically switch off. If you wish to continue using the appliance after this time, press the power button to switch it on. Use the temperature control to select your desired temperature.
CAUTION: This feature should not be considered as a substitute for ‘OFF’. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO SWITCH THE APPLIANCE OFF AND UNPLUG FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET WHEN NOT IN USE.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

• IMPORTANT: Filtered water should be used to fill the water tank of your SteamCare straightener.
• Switch the appliance off, unplug from the electrical outlet and allow to cool fully before cleaning.
• Wipe over all surfaces using a soft damp cloth. Do not use harsh abrasives or cleaners.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquid.
• Ensure all parts are dried thoroughly with a soft towel before reusing.
• To prevent cord damage, do not wrap the cord around the appliance, always store the cord loosely next to the appliance.
• Store in a cool dry place.
• The appliance has no user-serviceable parts.
