LiDAR J01 Smart Vacuum Cleaner
Important Safety Instructions
WARINING
Before using the robot for the first time, read the following instructions and
pay attention to all warnings. Even if you are familiar with handing
electronic devices. Store these operating instructions in a safe place for
future reference. If yousell the robot or pass it on, always include these
instructions. They are an integral part of the product.
General Use

Before using check that the voltage power corresponds to the one shown on the appliance nameplate.

DO NOT let power cord hang over edge of table or counter. Don’t bend the power cord overly or place weight on it, it may cause power cord damage, fire or electrical shock.

Do not operate any appliance with a damage charger or after the appliance malfunction or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.

The appliance is only to be used with the charger unit provided with the appliance. Don’t use other charger, it may cause product damage, electric shock or fire.
-
The external flexible cable of the adaptor cannot be replaced, if the cord of this adaptor is damaged, it is necessary to dispose the adaptor and replaced by an adaptor of the same model.

The product is designed for indoor floor cleaning only, DO NOT use it outdoors (such as on an open-ended terrace), on any surface other than the ground (such as a sofa,table etc…), or in any commercial or industrial environment

Do not use this product on elevated surfaces without barriers such as the floor of a loft, an open-ended terrace, or on top of furniture.
-
DO NOT use the Robot when the ambient temperature is higher than 104°F (40°C), lower than 39°F (4°C), or if there are liquids or tacky substances on the floor.

Before using the product, move wires off the ground or place them to the side to prevent them being pulled on by the cleaner.
-
To prevent blocking the product and to avoid damage to valuables, remove light-weight items (such as plastic bags) and fragile objects (such as vases) from the floor before cleaning.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they DO NOT play with the appliance.
-
This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety (CB).

This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision (EU)

Keep the main brush cleaning tools out of reach of children.

DO NOT place any object (including children and pets) on the product, whether it is in operation or not.

Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
-
DO NOT use the product on burning objects (such as cigarette butts).
-
DO NOT use the product on high pile carpets (product effectiveness may also be reduced on dark carpets).
-
DO NOT use the product to clean hard or sharp objects (such as decoration wastes, glass and nails).
-
DO NOT carry the product using the laser scanner cap, main unit cover, or collision buffer.
-
The product must be switched off and the plug must be removed from socket-outlet before cleaning or maintaining the product.
-
DO NOT use wet cloth or liquids for cleaning the product.
-
Use the product according to the manual. Any loss or damage caused from improper use will be borne by the user.
Battery and Charging -
This product contains batteries that are only replaceable by skilled persons.
-
Do not dismantle, repair or modify the battery or charging station.
-
Keep the charging dock away from heat (such as heating vents).
-
The battery must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped.
-
The product must be disconnected from the supply mains when removing the battery.
-
The battery must be disposed of safely. Do not discard waste batteries. Leave them with a professional recycling organization.
-
Do not wipe or clean the charger prongs with wet cloth or wet hands.
-
If the power cord is damaged, stop using it immediately. It must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

Make sure the product is powered off before shipment
-
Use of the original packaging is advised.
-
If to be left unused for a long period of time, fully charge the product and switch it off before storing it in a cool, dry place.
-
Charge it at least every 3 months to avoid over discharging the battery.
-
To satisfy RF exposure requirements, a separation distance of 20 cm or more should be maintained between this device and persons during device operation.
-
To ensure compliance, operations at closer than this distance is not recommended. The antenna used for this transmitter must not be co-located in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.

Product Operation
Important tips before use
-
Before use, please in order to arrange all furnitures such as tables,chairs, floor fans and remove small and lower objects such as weight scales to organize the largest space for cleaning.

Please open all doors in the room to help LiDAR robot cleaner searching rooms and creating cleaning path map.
-
Anti-drop sensors will prevent LiDAR Robot cleaner from tumbling down stairs and steep drops in most cases. Sensors are less effective if dirty or used on carpeted/ reflective/very dark colored floors. It is recommend to place physical barriers to block off areas where robot cleaner may fall.
-
Fold tasseled edges of area rugs under neath to prevent tangling robot cleaner.Avoid cleaning very dark-colored high-pile rugs or rugs thicker than 20mm as they may cause robot cleaner to malfunction. Please DO NOT use the mopping function on carpets.

Please remove power cords,shoes and small objects from the floor that may entangle LiDAR Robot Cleaner.
-
Please avoiding stand in front of LiDAR Robot cleaner, doorsill and narrow passage place, so the robot can not recognize the area to be cleaned.
Get Quick Start
Please remove the protection strip and film on bumper.
Please install the side brushes at first use, align side brush and fixed shaft and then press them.
Position The Charging station
Install the charging station on the flat ground firmly and against the vertical wall (fixed on the wall without hollow area). Please remove objects within 0.5m of the left and right side and at least 1.0m of the front of the charging station. If you can not remove the objects, check whether LiDAR robot cleaner can return to the docking station normally; If not, contact the customer service ask for help.
Charge your LiDAR Robot Vacuum Cleaner
- Robot vacuum cleaner has a pre-installed rechargeable Li-ion battery that has to be fully charged before use.
- The Robot will automatically return to the Charging station at the end of cleaning task or when its battery is running lower than 20%.
Method 1: Press the Charging button on remote controller to send the
Robot to the Charging station.
Method 2: Press the Charging button on Apps to send the Robot to the
Charging station.
⚠ Attention:
- Please keep the charging station well connected with power socket, otherwise, the Robot cannot find charging station to perform auto recharge.
Auto Charge and Resume
- Robot Vacuum Cleaner returns to the Charging station automatically to recharge when: Robot vacuum cleaner start working from charging station and has finished cleaning task.
- Cleaning is not complete and the battery power is low; Once fully charged the Robot will resume to finish the remaining cleaning.
⚠ Attention:
- DO NOT move the Charging station during cleaning, otherwise Robot vacuum cleaner may fail to return for recharge. If failed, you have to manually attach it to the Charging station.
Use Your Robot with Tuya Apps
To fully enjoy all the available features, It is recommended to control your Robot via the Tuya App. Before you start, make sure that:
- Your smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
- Your smartphone is running iOS 10.0 (or above) or Android 5.0 (or above).
- The 2.4GHz band wireless signal is enabled on your wireless router.
- The Wi-Fi status light on Robot is slowly flashing red.
- Robot is attached to the Charging station to ensure it has enough power during Wi-Fi setup.
- Download the “Tuya Smart” or “Smart Life” from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play(Android devices).
- Open the App and create a user account.
- Tap the “+” icon or ” Add Device” to find the Small Home Aliances and choose “Robot Vacuum Wi-Fi”.
- During set Wi-Fi network press and hold “Wifi”button 3 seconds on Robot and select the wifi indicator light status ” Blink quickly” for connecting.
- Follow the instructions in the App to set up the Wi-Fi connection.
- Please choose “Blink Quickly”
- After connecting successfully, you can control the Robot via the App.
- With the App, you can select cleaning at your desired suction level, schedule cleaning, view the cleaning map, set up ” Forbiden Edit”,” Virtual wall line” zones or “Room edit” check the network connection status, and access additional features.

⚠ Attention:**
- If you have any problems during the Wi-Fi setup process, refer to the “Troubleshooting” Wi-Fi section in this user manual.
- If Robot gets stuck in any space, tap find my Robot in the App to find the device. This function is available in the App only.
Reset the Wi-Fi Connection
Press and hold on “Wi-Fi” button 3 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi connection if necessary.
- You will hear a voice prompt when the Wi-Fi connection has been reset, and the Wi-Fi status light will blink quickly in red, Now you can follow the Wi-Fi instructions on Tuya App to reset up the Wi-Fi connetion.
Select a Cleaning Mode
Auto Cleaning
Option A: Press”Auto cleaning” icon on remote controller to start in Auto
cleaning mode.
Option B: Press and hold “ ” button on Robot 3 seconds to start in Auto
cleaning mode. Option C: Press “Smart” on T uya App to start in Auto cleaning
mode.
Attention:
- You can press” ” button on Robot, “Smart” on App and “ ” on remote at any time to pause the current cleaning cycle.
- By default, Robot starts in Auto cleaning mode when it is turned on.
**Map Navigation and Management**
LiDAR Navigation
Once Auto cleaning starts, Robot moves from the Charging station,
automatically 360 degree scaning to generate maps, intelligently determines
its cleaning paths, and divides the space into zones.
The cleaning paths are planned along the walls, following a bow-shaped cleaning method to complete the cleaning of each zone one by one.
Real-time Mapping & Floor plan
Real-time mapping helps you know the cleaning path and environment easily. A
floor plan will be built after cleaning. The map will be updated real-time
during each cleaning to ensure normal navigation.
To create a complete floor plan:
- Open your doors for Robot to map each room;
- Remove any objects that may be in the way or get Robot stuck.
Note:
Do not remove the Charging station after a floor plan is created.
Stand by mode
If the robot is paused for over 10 minutes, it will switch off to stand by mode, and its power indicator will light off. Press” ” button to wake it back up. Note: The robot will not switch off to stand by mode when it is on the charging station.
Spot Cleaning
- In Standby or Pause mode, press the”“button on remote or press “Pose” on Tuya App to start intensively cleans a specific area with a size of 1.5 m x 1.5 m.
- Useful if there is a concentrated area of dust or debris. When the cleaning of a certain zone is finished, it automatically returns to the Charging station.
Zone Cleaning (available via the Tuya App only)
In this mode, set up a cleaning zone in the Tuya app. Robot will clean this
zone only and return to the Charging station after cleaning.
Note:
Start Zone cleaning only after Robot has created the map.
It is recommended that Robot moves from the Charging station to start Zone
cleaning.
Forbiden Edit (No-Go) Area & Virtual walls (Available on App Only)
In the app can be setup a forbid area ( No-Go area ) , Mop forbid area and Virtual Walls to keep the Robot from entering the areas you define.
⚠ Attention:
- To set a forbid area, Robot must initially perform a cleaning run to create a floor plan.
- To clean your home with forbid area or virtual wall, ensure that Robot is on the Charging station and that the station has not been manually moved during cleaning.
- Although a forbid area or virtual wall is set, Robot may still enter the restricted zone due to such reasons as relocalization, wrong positioning or abnormal sensors.
- Moving the device or changing the environment may cause mapping failed and rebuilt with forbid area or virtual wall lost.
Select Room Cleaning
Select specific rooms for cleaning in the app. In this mode,the Robot will only clean the selected rooms.
Select a Suction Power Level
In the app, find setting section to select a suction power level according to your needs: Strong Normal (Default) Gentle Auto
**Use Mopping System**
Select a cleaning mode to start mopping
Robot automatically sweeps and mops in the selected mode. You can also select the mopping water level (3 levels) in the app according to your needs (in setting section on Tuya App).
- High
- Middle ( Default)
- Low
⚠ Attention:
- The mopping mode is only intended for a clean floor without stubborn stains or liquids.
- To achieve a better mopping effect, it is recommended to clean the floor with Robot 3 times before installing the mopping module.
- To avoid staining floors, do not use the mopping function when dust is mixed with liquids such as coffee or ink.
- Mopping System cleans best on smooth hard surfaces and may not perform so well on uneven tiles, heavily waxed floors or rough surfaces like slate or brick, which may snag the cleaning pad.
- The mopping mode is not recommended when no one is at home.
- Do not use the mopping mode on a carpeted floor. It is recommended to adding “Mop forbid area” in the app on “Forbiden Edit” to avoid cleaning the carpeted area.
Please follow the steps to use the mopping system
Step 1: Take out the water tank
Step 2: Filling the water and Seal the water tank cover
Step 3: Install the mopping module, put mop cloth on the mop pad and
stick it firmly. Mop cloth Mop pad
Step 4: Align the positioning column of the water tank with the
positioning hole of the Robot and install on mopping pad.
Step 5: Install mopping module into the tail of Robot until a click is
heard.
- When the mopping pad is removed, the system automatically exits mopping mode without water release mode without water release.
- When the mopping module is installed, Robot automatically switches to the mopping mode.
⚠ Attention:
- DO NOT use any other cleaning solution other than water. Cleaning solutions, even natural ones, can clog the water release system and break down the materials inside the device.
- To add water into the water tank or install the mopping module, pause the cleaning first. DO NOT manually move the device.
- Although water release is stopped when cleaning is paused, the mopping cloth will still be wet.Be careful not to keep Robot in one location for too long
Use your Robot with Amazon Alexa & Google Assistant
Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant is a smart voice control device that enables you to control Robot with your voice ( currently support English voice only).
Before you start, please make sure that:
- Robot is attached to the Charging station to ensure there is enough power.
- Robot is connected with the Tuya App.
- You have an Alexa-enabled device ( Such as Amazon Echo, Echo Dot or Echo Spot) or a device enabled with the Google Assistant (Such as Google Home, Google Home Mini). These devices are sold separately by other supplier.
- The Amazon Alexa app or Google Home app is already installed on your smart device, and you have created an account.
To control Robot with Alexa or the Google Assistant
Open the Robot App on Tuya and tap the ” ” icon on the top right. Find the “Third-party Control section and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the setup.
Reset the System
You can reset the system if there is no any response when pressing any button on Robot, Remote or Apps.
- Make sure Robot is not on the Charging station.
- Press and hold on the “Reset” button,Robot will automatically turn off.
- Put back the Robot onto the Charging station or press and hold on power button to turn it on.
⚠ Attention:
- After resetting the system, Robot may lose its map and the original settings including the forbid areas or virtual walls.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Before cleaning and maintaining, turn off the device and unplug the adapter.
- For optimal performance, follow the instructions below to clean and maintain Robot regularly.
- The cleaning/replacement frequency will depend on your usage habits of Robot.

Clean the cloth with water and air-dry it completely to avoid being mildewed or producing unpleasant smell.
⚠ Attention:
- DO NOT use hot water, or any acid and alkali detergent to clean.
- It is recommended to clean the mopping cloth after each use.

Open the Robot top cover and take out the dustbin box.

Press the release button to empty the dustbin box and tap the dustbin box to get rid of any excess dirt.

Cleaning the dust bin box with cleaning brush.

Take out the pre-filter and HEPA filter.

Clean up the HEPA filters with a cleaning brush. You can also wash the filters for deep cleaning.

Air-dry the dustbin box and filter assembly completely before next use.

⚠ Attention:
- DO NOT cleaning the wheels with water.
Relacement the battery
Battery relacement of Robot
- Release the screw with the screw-driver, open its base plate and then take out the battery.
- Please place the positive and negative electrode correctly for new replacement battery.
- Please set the Robot in charging state to keep the best of the battery while the Robot is unused.

- Open the battery cover and then replace the battery.
- Please place the battery with correct polarity(+/-).
- Please take out the battery if it was unused for long time.
⚠ Attention:
- Please DO NOT forget to take out the battery before discarding the Robot.
- Please turn off the power switch before taking out the battery from the Robot .
- Please DO NOT place the battery in High-temperature environment above 45℃or in the water. Please DO NOT exert external force to the battery or drop them from heigh.
- The battery should be recycled with safe disposal. Please DO NOT discard it freely or throw it into fire for fear of explosion!
- If the battersacy has leakage, avoid the liquid to skin or clothes, use dry mop to clean it touched and send the battery to recycle bin or mainteance service.
Firmware update
Update the robot using the app. Place the robot on the charging dock and ensure that the battery level is higher than 20% before updating. The power indicator will flash white quickly during a firmware update.
Storage the Robot
If the robot is to be left unused for an extended period, turn it off before storage and charge it at least once every 3 months to avoid battery damage resulting from over-discharging.

2| Lost map| Moved the device, there is a risk of losing the map| If the map
is saved, and then lost map, please put the device back into the charging
station then the map will be restored it.
3| Can not creat the map on App| The device did not start from the charging
station.| The best way is to start cleaning from the charging station
The device was moved during the cleaning process, caused by a repositioning
failure.| During the cleaning process, please avoid moving the device as much
as possible.
The auto cleaning task has not been completed.| Let the device automatically

please push it hard and hear a “click” to ensure that the water tank is
installed in place

incorrect| Please place the charging station correctly according to the method

The charging station is powered off or moved| Check that the charging station
is connected to a power source. Do not manually move the charging station

The device suspended for more than 90 minutes| It is recommended to stand by
the device for no longer than 90 minutes. In order to ensure the smooth
operation of the device, please let the device complete the cleaning by
itself, and avoid pausing and moving as much as possible.

The charging route is blocked. For example, the room door with a charging

7| If the cleaning is not completed, and the device returns to the charging

When the room environment is very complex, the cleaning efficiency will be
reduced, and the cleaning may not be completed.| Organize the room

8| Can not charge the device| The charging poles of charging station and the
device are not fully contacted.| Make sure that the main unit is fully docked
with the charging pole piece of the charging station, and the power button is
in a white flashing state.Check whether the charging poles of the main unit
and the charging station are dirty. Please refer to the “Maintenance” section
of the manual to clean them.

charging station and power adapter are connected well
Do not use for a long time caused by over-discharge of the battery| It is
recommended to charge the device 1 time every 3month if long-term unused to
protect the battery
9| The running sound is loud during the working period| Side brushes, roller
brushes are entangled, dust boxes, filters are blocked, etc.| It is
recommended to regularly clean and maintain side brushes, roller brushes, dust
boxes, filters, etc.
The device enters the powerful cleaning mode| It is recommended to switch to a
standard or gentle cleaning mode
10| Stucked while the device is working| The device is entangled or obstructed
by stray wires on the ground, drooping curtain cloth or carpet fringes, etc.|
The device will try various methods to get out of trouble on its own. If it
fails to get out of trouble, it is recommended to manually help.
The device might be stucked by furniture that is close to the unit.| It is
recommended to raise furniture, artificially cover the barrier, or set up a
virtual wall through the apps.
When using the mopping function, the ability of the device to overcome
obstacles may be weakened| When going over a steep slope, please assist the
device to troubleshoot the problem
11| When the unit engine is working, there are situations such as deviation of
the route, repeated cleaning, and missed scanning of small areas. (If there is
a large area that has not been cleaned temporarily, the unit will
automatically repair leaks. Don’t worry, sometimes the unit will enter the
room that has been cleaned again. It may not be repeated cleaning, but it is
just automatically repairing leaks.| Wires, slippers, and other objects placed
on the ground affect the normal operation of
the robot.
| Before the unit works, please sort out the wires, slippers and other objects
scattered on the ground, and reduce the scattered items on the ground as much
as possible. If there is a missing scan phenomenon, the unit will
automatically repair the leak, please do not interfere (such as moving the
unit or blocking the device’s running route).
It may be that the drive slips on the ground when the unit climbs steps,
thresholds, and door bars, which affects the device’s judgment on the room
environment.| It is recommended to close the door of this area and clean the
area separately. After cleaning, it will return to the starting point. Please
use it with confidence.
Due to different room environments, the robot can not enter individual areas
and clean| It is recommended to organize the room environment to ensure that
the robot can enter for cleaning.
Working on freshly waxed, polished floors or smooth floor tiles causes less
friction between the drive wheels and the ground.| It is recommended to wait
for the floor wax to dry before using it
The top laser scanning module is dirty or covered by different obstacles.|
Wipe the laser scanning module with a clean soft cloth or remove foreign
objects from the shield
12| The device can not connect to the home WI-FI network| Incorrect home Wi-Fi

When the network is connected, the device is not ready for network
configuration.| Press the power-on state, the WiFi light flashes slowly,

13| Dust leaks out from dust box during robot operation| The dustbin box
outlet is blocked by a foreign objects| Take out the dust box and clean up the
foreign objects on the dust box outlet

Wi-Fi connection
Before setting up Wi-Fi, please make sure the robot, mobile phone, and Wi-Fi network meet the following requirements.
- The robot is fully charged and is turned on.
- Wi-Fi status light has been blinking
- Turn off your phone’s mobile data (you can turn it back on after setup is complete)
- Use 2.4GHz or 2.4 mixed network
- The router supports 802.11b/g/n and IPv4 protocols.
- Never use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) or proxy server.
- Never use hidden networks.
- WPA and WPA2 encrypted with TKIP, PSK, AES/CCMP.
- WEP EAP (Enterprise Authentication Protocol) is not supported.
- Use Wi-Fi Communications 1-11 in North America and Wi-Fi Communications 1-13 outside North America (consult your local regulatory agency).
- If using a network extender/repeater, just use the same network name (SSID) and password as the main network
