STAGING & PROVISIONS
MANAGER
USER GUIDE
OVERVIEW
Staging & Provision Manager is a software utility that allows IT administrators to quickly set up a terminal with pre-defined Wi-Fi & ScanWedge settings and application installation. Instead of entering the settings in each device individually, the utility creates the QR code(s) which contains the settings and application path/URL, and applies them to the target devices by scanning the QR barcode(s). The below illustration shows the workflow of the Staging & Provision Manager
Staging and Provision Managers work in pairs. The Staging Manager is installed
in the source device and the Provision Manager is installed in the target
device(s). All settings must be set up in the source device. The Staging
Manager will create QR code(s) based on the setting in the source device and
the Provision Manager will restore the settings in the target device(s).
The QR code(s) generated by Staging Manager embeds the WiFi & ScanWedge
settings and path / URL to download targeted applications. This QR code(s) is
distributed via various means like paper, and portable devices such as
smartphones or PCs. The QR code(s) is scanned by the target device(s) with
Provision Manager installed, the Provision Manager will decode the settings
and apply them to the target device(s).

EXAMPLE

from
https://storage.evozi.com/apk/dl/16/09/04/com.king.candycrushsaga_11970011.apk.

STEP 4: INPUT PACKAGE NAME FOR KIOSK MODE

STEP 5: GENERATE QR CODE
Click “DEPLOY QR CODE” to generate the code to configure ScanWedge. You can
access the QR Code later by clicking “SCANWEDGE QR CODE”
TIPS FOR USING QR CODE
- Each QR code points to one (1) URL and therefore only one (1) application can be downloaded at a time.
- If the administrator needs to deploy 5 applications, for example, to each terminal, and these 5 applications are shown in the kiosk mode, the administrator needs to generate the QR code five (5) times. Each time, the download URL points to different applications.
- For the first four QR codes, only the download URL is needed. In the fifth one, put the download URL in with 5 application packages in the Kiosk App 1 / 2/ 3/ 4/ 5.
- To apply the settings to the target terminal, the first four QR codes (only APP download URL) can be applied in any order. The one with the download URL and 5 application packages in the Kiosk App settings must be applied in the last place
