GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

In order to take full advantage of your new product and enjoy the long and trouble-free performance, please read this owner’s manual carefully, and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

  1. Unpacking : On unpacking your product please check carefully for any signs of damage that may have occurred whilst in transit from the HH factory to your dealer. In the unlikely event that there has been damage, please re-pack your unit in its original carton and consult your dealer. We strongly advise you to keep your original transit carton, since, in the unlikely event that your unit should develop a fault, you will be able to return it to your dealer for rectification securely packed.

  2. Amplifier Connection: In order to avoid damage, it is advisable to establish and follow a pattern for turning your on and off your system. With all system parts connected, turn on source equipment, tape decks, cd players, mixers, effects processors, etc, BEFORE turning on your amplifier. Many products have large transient surges at turn on and off which can cause damage to your speakers.
By turning on your bass amplifier LAST and making sure its level of control is set to a minimum, any transients from other equipment should not reach your loudspeakers. Wait till all system parts have stabilized, usually a couple of seconds. Similarly when turning off your system always turn down the level controls on your bass amplifier and then turn off its power before turning off other equipment

  3. Cables : Never use shielded or microphone cables for any speaker connections as this will not be substantial enough to handle the amplifier load and could cause damage to your complete system.

  4. Servicing : The user should not attempt to service these products. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

CONTROL PANEL

HH Electronics TNA-1800SA 18 Inch Active Subwoofer - CONTROL
PANEL

  1. INPUT SENSITIVITY: This control sets the input sensitivity of the TNA-1800SA. Turned fully anti-clockwise, the system will accept a nominal +10dB signal such as that from a high output mixing console, whereas when set to 0dB it is more suited to lower-level inputs such as those from PA link outs. +10dB sensitivity is recommended for most setups. Increase if you need more volume.

  2. XOVER CONTROL: Adjust the full range frequency limit of the sub from 70Hz(fully anti-clockwise) to 120Hz(fully clockwise).
A full range setting is also included to aid in setup and troubleshooting.

  3. POWER INDICATOR: Illuminates when the unit is connected to the mains power supply and switched on.

  4. SIGNAL INDICATOR: Illuminates to indicate that there is a signal present at the INPUT.

  5. PROTECT INDICATOR: This illuminates if a fault condition occurs. The amplifier will shut down to prevent further damage with normal operation resuming once the fault condition has been rectified.

  6. LIMITER INDICATOR: Illuminates just before the amplifier begins to clip. Adjust the INPUT SENSITIVITY and/or signal level from your source so the indicator illuminates only briefly during peaks in the music. The continuous limiting of the signal will result in reduced audio quality and dynamic content.

  7. PHASE SWITCH: Pressing this switch reverses the phase of the onboard subwoofer output with respect to signal input. Signals from the LINK OUT are unaffected.

  8. LINE INPUT: A balanced XLR line input, suitable for balanced or non-balanced line level signals.
Please note: The Line input is not suitable for a mic-level signal.

  9. LINK OUT: A balanced XLR line output, suitable for sending a line-level signal to an external device.

  10. LINK OUT SWITCH: With the Link switch disabled  (FULL RANGE) the LINK OUT signal is sourced from the LINE INPUT. With the LINK switch enabled   (XOVER), an HPF filter is applied to the LINK OUT set to the frequency determined by the XOVER Control (2).
Please refer to the block diagram on page 8.

  11. DELAY : Applies an audio delay to the internal loudspeaker to time align the subwoofer to your system. It can also be used to implement a cardioid function when used with the PHASE CONTROL (7) and another TNA-1800SA. The DELAY duration is set via the two onboard controls with left of the two providing millisecond increments and microseconds from the right control.
The DELAY control does not affect the audio from the LINK OUT.

  13. POWER SWITCH: Turns the system On and Off. Ensure the INPUT SENSITIVITY control to a minimum when switching it on.

  14. POWER INLET: Connect the included powerCON compatible mains cable here. The TNA-1800SA contains a universal mains power supply with operating voltage from100V~ to 240V~. Ensure the mains cable is earthed.

  15. MAINS FUSE: Only replace with the type specified on the rear panel.

  16. VENTILATION SLOTS: Free air flow is required for the smooth and reliable operation of the system.
    DO NOT block or obstruct.

  17. HEAT SINK: As with the ventilation slot, please allow for free and unrestricted air flow.
