Add camera to other smartphones

Once the camera is set up and connected to your Wi-Fi, you can add the camera to other smartphones:

Preparation:
On the other smartphones, download the WIWACAM app and register a new user account (see chapter 2.3) or log in if you already have an account. Each smartphone should have its own account.

Option 1: On the local network

  1. Connect the smartphone to the same WLAN as the camera.
  2. Run the WIWACAM app. In the “My Camera” page, wait 3mins until a blue strip indicates that a new camera has been detected.
  3. Click on this blue strip and confirm that you want to add the camera. Enter the correct camera password (set by you or the owner).
    Done!

Option 2: From outside of home/office or if the camera was not detected automatically

  1. Run the WIWACAM app.
  2. Click the “+” button on the top right, select “Manual Add”.
  3. The app will ask for the Camera ID and Camera password. Enter both of these details. Done! (Camera ID could be found on a tag on the camera body, starts with ‘R’, like R001234. or go to the WIWACAM app which already adds the camera: ‘My Camera’ page → camera settings → camera info)

Best Practice of Night Vision

  • The camera offers Auto Night Vision feature. It will auto enter into Night Mode while the environment is dark or with poor light condition.
  • Make sure there are no obstacles or reflective surfaces within 1m(3feet) in front of the camera when the camera is in night mode.
  • Otherwise, the light from the infrared LED will be blocked and the image quality in night vision will not be good.
  • If blocked, The IR LED will then strongly illuminate these obstacles and areas, and more distant areas will remain too dark, and the image may be foggy. This can also affect the reliability of the surveillance.
  • For example, if the MW1 is placed directly on a table (without the mount), the table and lens are too close to each other.
  • The table surface reflects the light from the IR LED and causes the phenomenon described above and significantly reduces the range of night vision.
  • Using the mount will bring significant improvement in this case. When selecting a mounting location, please make sure there are no reflective surfaces or other obstacles close to the lens.
