Place the extender bar on the carriage bolt, making sure that the squared shoulder under the head of the bolt matches up with the squared hole in the middle of the extender bar.
Place the grooved spacer onto the bolt, the groove will fit over the width of the extender bar.2.
Place the spacer with the wood pin onto the bolt making sure that the two flat surfaces of the two spacers are facing together.
Now place one of the main sides of the frame onto the bolt. You will see that there are a number of holes to choose from. Choose a height that is suitable for your chair/table. The wooden pin will insert into the hole either above of below the hole that the bolt will pass through.
Secure into place using a flat washer, followed by the spring, followed by another washer, and then finally the wing nut. Tighten the wing nut until there are two to three rings of the bolt exposed.
You will want to make sure that this is tightened securely so that the stand does not flop side to side, but not so tight that the flip frame mechanism is difficult to use.
Attach your fabric to your scroll rods, then insert your scroll rods into the top and bottom holes of each extender bar. Secure into place using the four wooden knobs that are include with your stand.

You are now ready to use your stand!
