INTRODUCTION

The new Pronto Digital Kitchen Scale by Ozeri is an uncompromising multifunction scale for the kitchen and home that was proudly chosen by the Dana Farber Cancer Institute for a Harvard Medical School study on the relationship between weight loss and the prevention of breast cancer. The Pronto boasts a freshly expanded weighing platform, one of the largest in its class, to fit larger bowls and food items. It is constructed with the most up- to-date sensor technology to assure an accurate and quick reaction for the fast-paced cook. The Pronto is a scale for your children’s science projects and has an elegant design with a refined finish. It can also be used as a postage dispenser for your mail.

With five distinct units to choose from (g, lbs., lbs:oz, oz., and ml), the Pronto is the ideal tool for the professional cook. For example, you can convert (539.8 grams) to (1.19 pounds), (1 pound 3 ounces), and (19.04 ounces), all with the click of a button (539.8 ml). The widescreen LCD panels give the chef, who moves quickly, a wide viewing angle. To assist you in reaching your diet and weight objectives, the Pronto weighs up to 11.24 pounds (5100 grams) in graduations of just 0.05 ounces (1 gram) and is manufactured to exacting quality standards. The Pronto also has a very useful Tare button that automatically deducts the weight of any dish or container to figure out the ingredient’s net weight. When creating meals quickly, the Tare and Unit buttons on the Pronto provide an audible and tactile click confirmation so you never have to push twice. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

INITIAL SETUP:

Open the battery cover located beneath the scale and place the included AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure that the batteries +/-terminals are correctly oriented. To turn on the scale, place on a hard even surface and press the On/Off/ Tare button located to the right of the LCD screen. To turn off the scale, first ensure there is nothing on weighing platform (the LCD should display zero).Then press and hold the On/Off/Tare button.

Note: to extend battery life the scale will automatically turn off after 2 minutes of inactivity.

WEIGHING MODE

Turn the scale on and gently place an item on the center of the weighing platform. The weight will immediately display on the screen. f the object is uneven the scale may fine tune the computed weight during the first 2 or 3 seconds of measurement. Be sure to always gently place objects on the center of the scale’s weighing platform. Do not leave an object on the scale’s weighing platform for an extended period of time.

CHANGING THE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT

When the scale is powered on, simply press the unit button to change between ounces (oz.), pounds (lbs.), grams (g), and milliliters (ml).

You can also change the unit of measurement while an object is on the scale. The scale will remember the unit of measurement you last selected each time it is turned on.

Note: The milliliter measurement is an approximation of fluid measure and assumes that you are measuring a liquid such as water or oil, and not a powder or thick emulsion.

USING THE TARE FEATURE

Use the tare feature to automatically subtract the weight of a bowl or plate, and deter being weighed. To use the Tare feature: the net weight of the ingredients

  • First place the empty bowl, plate or container onto the scale’s weighing platform. The scale will display a weight on the LCD.
  • With the empty bowl or container remaining on the scale, Press the Tare button once to reset the scale to zero
  • Place the ingredients you would like measured into the bowl, plate or container, and the net weight will then display on the LCD. After removing the container from the weighing platform, the scale will display a negative number. Simply press the On/Off/Tare button to reset it and deactivate the Tare feature.

IMPORTANT INDICATORS

“LO” – When the LCD displays “LO” and automatically power off the batteries need to be changed.

Only use new AAA batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.

“Err When the weight detected exceeds 11 lbs. or 5 kg, the LCD will display “Err”. Remove the object from the scale’s weighing platform to avoid damage to the scale’s sensors.

“Unst” If the scale displays “Unst” on its LCD, the object being weighed may have shifted. Remove the object from the weighing platform and allow a few seconds for the scale to reset. Then ensure the object being weighed is stationary before gently replacing it on the scale.

“out2” If the scale displays “out2” on the LCD, the scale was not able to successfully reset itself. Remove all objects from the scale, and turn it off and back on. f the problem persists briefly remove the batteries from the scale to force a hard reset.

WARNING MAINTENANCE

  • To clean the scale, use only a damp cloth. Do not soak or submerge the scale in water or any other liquids. This scale is not waterproof. Do not expose the scale to moisture as this will cause damage to the scale and void the warranty.
  • Always ensure the scale is stored and operated at room temperature and on a stable flat surface.
  • Gently place all items on the scale’s weighing platform. Never drop an item on the Scale, or leave an object on the scale’s weighting platform for an extended period of time.
  • Avoid placing the scale near cell phones or other devices that can cause electromagnetic interference. This can cause the scale to malfunction.
  • Store the scale in a clean dry location. Dust, dirt and moisture from humidity can accumulate on the weighing sensors malfunction and electronics, causing inaccuracy or malfunction.
  • Remove the batteries if the scale will not be used for an extended period of time.
  • Do not operate or store the scale in extreme temperatures.
  • This product is not a toy and should be kept away from children.
  • Do not attempt to operate this scale if it is dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • This scale is intended for indoor use only.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble this scale. Doing so will void the warranty.
