YONGNUO YN-32-TX for S Wireless Flash Transmitter

Before using this product, please read this manual carefully to ensure that you can use this product properly and safely. Please keep this manual for future reference.

Precautions for use

Do not expose this product to rain or moisture to avoid fire or electric shock. Do not place this product in an environment with extremely high temperatures or high humidity. Do not place this product in a place subject to severe vibration.

When the product is mounted on the camera, please do not move the camera just by holding the product, as this may cause malfunction or damage to the camera. Before bringing this product from a cold environment to a warm environment, in order to prevent moisture from being condensed inside the product, please put the product in a plastic bag and drain the air in the bag to seal it. After the product temperature reaches the ambient temperature, then take out the product and use it. When the ambient temperature is low, the battery performance may be reduced. When this happens, it is recommended to use it with a power bank. If the following situations occur, stop using them immediately.

  • The product is dropped or subjected to a strong impact, leaving the inside of the product exposed.
  • The product gives off strange smell, heat or smoke.

    The product size is about 555839mm, and the net weight is only about 68g.The built-in 350mAh high-capacity lithium battery supports the use of charging and has a long battery life.

  • Compatible with YONGNUO RF602/603 Radio Triggering System
    Fully compatible with the RF radio triggering signal of YONGNUO YN650EX-RF /YN685EX-RF/YN685II/YN720/YN685/YN560IV/YN660/YN560III/RF603/RF602,a total of 16 channels and 10,000 IDs (0000~9999) for choice, the effective triggering distance is up to 60 meters.
    Note:
    The above-mentioned triggering distance is applicable for the environment without obstacles or radio wave interference. Depending on the environment in which the product is used and weather conditions, the actual triggering distance might be shorter. When using products that do not support ID settings, please set the ID of the transmitter to be 0000.

  • Supports multi-group independent flash control

Product removal and installation

  1. Mount the transmitter to the camera
    Turn off the power, remove the protective cover of the hot shoe, turn the [fixed knob] to the highest point (picture ①), then push the [hot shoe holder] of the transmitter into the camera hot shoe (picture ②), and turn the [fixed knob] until it locks tight (picture ③).YONGNUO-YN-32-TX-for-S-Wireless-

  2. Disassemble the transmitter
    Turn off the power, turn the [Fixed Knob] to the highest point(picture ④), then push the transmitter out of the camera’s hot shoe, and cover the hot shoe protective cover again.

Basic operation of buttons

Understanding the basic operation of the buttons will help you to use the transmitter more conveniently and quickly.

Button name Operation description
Power switch Set to ON to turn on the power.

Set to OFF to turn off the power.
Fn| Short press [Fn] to enter the item adjustment interface, short press [Fn] again to exit this option.
Long press [Fn] to enter the custom setting interface, and long press [Fn] again to exit this interface.
Item switching button| After entering the item adjustment interface, short press [Up][Down]to switch the items to be set.
When no parameter is selected, short press [MODE] to quickly enter the mode adjustment interface.

When no parameter is selected, short press [+/-] to quickly enter the flash output adjustment state.

c Select dial/ n onfirm butto| After selecting a function item, turn the [ ] to adjust the parameter settings of the item.

Power on and off

Slide the power switch to the [ON] position to turn on the power, and slide it to the [OFF] position to turn off the power. This product is designed with a power-saving function. When the operation is stopped for about 2 hours, the power will be automatically turned off, and you can restart the power to resume use.

Power management

This product has a built-in lithium battery (3.7V/350mAh), which can be charged through the USB Type-C interface. The product supports charging while using. The product screen will display the battery level, and you can know the battery status at any time. Please check whether the battery power is sufficient before use. It is recommended to charge the battery in time when the battery icon shows only one bar or flashes, so as not to affect work efficiency.

When the low battery icon is displayed on the full screen of the transmitter, it means that the battery of the product is seriously low, and the transmitter will not continue to work at this time.

Note:
Depending on the usage conditions and environment, the remaining battery display may be inaccurate.

Test flash
After exiting the parameter adjustment interface completely, you can test whether the flash trigger function is normal by pressing the [ ].

Camera menu access (need to be supported by camera)
On new cameras that support [external flash settings], you can adjust the flash parameters through the camera menu, such as adjusting the flash mode (TTL/M/Multi/Gr/OFF), wireless flash settings, flash sync mode, and exposure compensation etc.

Set channel/ID

Before wireless trigger shooting, you need to set the RF signal, transmission channel, and ID of the transmitter and the slave unit to be consistent, otherwise, the flash cannot be triggered. The RF signal can be changed through the custom item Fn01. For the setting method of the slave unit, please refer to the manual of the slave unit.

The setting method of the transmitter’s transmission channel/ID is as follows:

  1. Short press the [Fn] button to enter the function item selection state.
  2. Short press the item selection button [up] [down] to select the channel.
  3. Press [ ] down to enter the channel and ID setting interface.
  4. Short press the 【Up】【Down】button to select channel or ID.
  5. Turn the [ ] to adjust the channel or ID.
  6. After finishing the setting, short press【Fn】to exit the setting interface.

Note: For the slave unit that does not support ID setting, the default ID of which is 0000.

Flash mode, flash output, flash ratio setting

When no parameter is selected, short press the [MODE] button to enter the mode adjustment interface, and turn the [ ] to select the flash mode: TTL/ M/ Multi/GR/OFF.

When no parameter is selected, short press the [+/-] button to enter the brightness output adjustment, and turn the [ ] to adjust the flash compensation or flash output. After finishing the setting, short press【Fn】to save and exit the setting interface.

TTL FLASH MODE
The camera’s metering system calculates the light reflected from the subject and automatically adjusts the amount of flash output. According to actual needs, you can also set the flash compensation, the compensation range is -3ev ~ +3ev.

M FLASH MODE
You can manually set the flash output, the adjustment range is 1/128~1/1, and it supports adjustment with 1/3ev or 1/2ev as the exposure increment, total of 29 levels adjustable.

MULTI FLASH MODE
Multi flash mode is also called stroboscopic mode. In this mode, the flash will fire according to the flash output power, flash frequency, and the number of flashes you have set. The adjustable range of flash output is 1/128-1/64-1/32-1/16-1/8-1/4. The method of setting the number of flashes and flash frequency is as follows: Short press [Fn] and use the [Up] and [Down] buttons to select the number of flashes or flash frequency, and turn the [ ] to adjust the parameters. The adjustable range of the number of flashes and flash frequency is 1-100.

Note: The adjustable range of flash times will be limited by flash output power and flash frequency.

GR MIXED FLASH MODE
In this mode, you can combine TTL flash mode and M flash mode. This mode can support up to 5 groups of slave flashes and parameter settings.

OFF FLASH MODE
When the flash mode is set to OFF, it will not flash.

SETTING FLASH RATIO
In TTL, M, and Multi flash modes set the transmitter RATIO to ON, and you can set different flash output power and different focal lengths for the three groups of slave units.
Set the transmitter to RATIO OFF. At this time, the slave units A, B, and C will flash with the same flash output power.

Set focal length

Short press [Fn] to enter the item selection state, short press [up] [down] until “ZOOM” is selected, and press [ ] down to enter the focal length adjustment interface. You can adjust the focal length of each group of slave units according to your needs.

Power saving function

Sleep:
You can set a sleep countdown for the transmitter by customizing Fn00. The transmitter will automatically enter sleep mode after the product has not been operated for the time you set, and the screen will not display any parameters. If you need to wake up the product, please press the [ ] button. If Fn00 is set to OFF, the transmitter will turn off the sleep function.

Automatic shutdown:
Regardless of whether the sleep function is enabled on the transmitter, the transmitter will automatically shut down to save power after it has been idled or dormant for more than 2 hours. When the automatic shutdown is activated, you need to restart the transmitter through the power switch to resume use.

Firmware Upgrade

This product supports firmware upgrades. Users can log in to YONGNUO official website www.hkyongnuo.com to download the latest upgrade software and firmware file. It is recommended to update the transmitter to the latest firmware for best performance and compatibility before use. Please follow the steps below to upgrade:

  1. Power off the transmitter and remove it from the camera.
  2. Keep pressing the [Fn] button of the transmitter to boot into the upgrade interface.
  3. Connect to computer via USB type-C cable
  4. Open the upgrade software on the computer and confirm that the software has identified the transmitter.
  5. Select the firmware file to be upgraded.
  6. Click the [Update] button of the software to begin upgrading, and wait for the upgrade to complete. The transmitter will restart after the upgrade is finished.

Custom Settings Function

You can set the functions of the transmitter according to your needs. Long press [Fn] to enter the customized interface, select the items through [UP][DOWN] button, press
[ ]to enter subitems, turn [ ] to select the items you wanted, and press [ ] again to save the settings. After finishing the custom settings, long press [Fn] to exit the customized interface.

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver.
  • Connect the equipment to an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Warning:
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

Troubleshooting Guide

  1. Unable to power on
    Please check whether the battery level is too low. You can try to charge through USB first and then power on. This product supports charging while using.

  2. The power is automatically turned off or the power switch is in the ON state, but the transmitter cannot be awakened.
    The automatic power off function of the transmitter has been activated, please turn it on again through the power switch to use it.

  3. Slave unit does not flash

    • Please check whether the slave unit is compatible with the radio-triggering system of the transmitter. For details, please refer to the compatibility list.
    • Please make sure that the RF signal (602 or 603), channel, and ID of the slave unit are all set to be consistent with those of the transmitter.
    • Please make sure that the slave unit is placed within the effective wireless transmission range of the master unit.
  4. The transmitter cannot be identified by the upgrade software when connected to the computer via a USB cable.
    Please make sure that the USB Type-C cable used is a data transmission cable and not just a charging cable.

  5. The firmware update fails or the screen keeps displaying the upgrade interface.
    Please disconnect the USB cable, restart the device and try to upgrade again.
