KERBL Round Slings
Improper use of round slings is hazardous to life and property. These operating instructions provide general information on the proper usage of round slings. Please read all the instructions prior to initial use!
General notes on usage
Round slings may only be used for lifting and transportation of loads. Usage
is restricted exclusively to trained and authorized persons.
Please ensure that the round slings are.
- are never loaded in excess of their rating.
- are not knotted or twisted when carrying a load.
- are not damaged, overloaded or worn (e.g. cuts).
- are not used in a basket hitch.
- are not, during lifting, repeatedly slung over each other to shorten the round sling.
- carry the load across their entire width.
- do not, with their legs, exceed an angle of 60%.
- are not stretched across sharp corners or rough surfaces. In case of sharp corners or surfaces, the round slings/lifting straps must have edge protection.
The round slings can be used in temperatures ranging from -40°C to + 100°C (PES and PA) or up to +80°C (PP). Avoid use in environments containing chemicals such as acids or basic solutions! Round slings which were in contact with acids, basic solutions or other aggressive substances must be rinsed and cleaned with water before storage and re-use.
Storage:
After use, the round slings must be inspected for possible damage and dirt
every time and, if necessary, this must be remedied before storage. Ensure
that the environment is clean, dry and well- ventilated. Avoid direct sunlight
and chemical exposure.
Cleaning
Clean only with clean water and allow to dry in open air or in ventilated rooms.
Testing and removal from service:
- Round slings must be checked for obvious defects prior to and during each application- on. Remove the round slings from service if you detect defects that compromise safety. At least once a year, have the round slings/lifting straps tested by an expert.
- Should the label be missing or the manufacturer be unknown or in case of damage by heat, round slings must be removed from service.
- Round slings must be removed from service if their load-bearing core or the seam are damaged.
Repairs:
Repairs may only be undertaken by the manufacturer.
