POWER SOURCE

The unit has a built-in Li-ion rechargeable battery, charge it before first- time use or when it is drained as follows:

  1. Connect the small plug from the supplied USB Connection Cable to the USB 5V (Type C) Port on the back of the unit.
  2. Connect the full-size USB Plug from the supplied USB Connection Cable to the USB Port on the Personal Computer or USB Charger (Computer and USB Charger not included).
  3. When charging, the Red Indicator on the back of the unit will illuminate. When charging is complete, the Red Indicator will change to green.

NOTES

  1. When charging, you can also play and listening music at the same time.
  2. Your battery will last longer if you follow these simple guidelines for caring for and storing:
  • A. Before first-time use, recharge the unit for approximately 5 hours until the unit is fully charged.
  • B. Charge and store the unit within the temperature range of 5°C – 35°C (40°F – 95°F).
  • C. Do not overcharge (longer than 24 hours). Excessive charging or running the unit until completely flat will damage the battery. Battery life will be extended if you keep the battery fully charged.
  • D. Battery life naturally shortens slowly over time.
  • E. The rechargeable battery incorporated in this product is not user-replaceable.

OPERATION

General Operation:

  1. Recharge the built-in Li-ion battery as previously instructed.
  2. Press and hold the Button on the panel for approximately 3 seconds to power on the unit.
  3. Press the Button on the unit to switch to the desired playback mode. The unit will sound will prompt you with a selection (see list below):MAGNAVOX-MMA4020-Bluetooth-Speaker-fig-14

Note:
If the Audio Connection Cable; Micro SD Card and/or USB Device had NOT inserted into the unit, the correspondence selection will not be available.

During playback

  • Press the  Power Button on the unit to ON/OFF.
  • Press the Button on the unit to pause; press again to resume normal playback. (In AUX mode, press it to mute the sound, and press again to turn the sound back on .) In BT, USB, and TF Card playback modes, press the buttons on the unit repeatedly to skip tracks.
  • Press and hold Button to turn off the Decorative Lights, and press and hold again to turn it on. Short press to change the different lights as desired.
  • In USB, TF Card playback modes, press the Button on the unit to set or reset the repeat mode as BT-Aux in- USB/TF-FM.
  • Press and hold the buttons repeatedly to adjust the volume level as desired.Press and release the buttons repeatedly to skip tracks.

Notes: lt will not function in lN(Aux) mode.

When finished listening, press and hold the Button for approximately 3 seconds to shut off the unit.

BT Mode: BT (Bluetooth) pairing:
For first time use or re-pairing the unit to a new BT Device, pair as follows:

  1. Power on the unit and enter to BT mode as previously instructed. You will hear an audible prompt say “Bluetooth ready for connection”
  2. Power on the external BT Device and enter to BT searching mode. Start pairing following the on-screen instructions from the external BT Device. When paired, the unit will sound a prompt “Bluetooth connected”
  3. If pairing is complete you may now play music with your external BT Device.
  4. During playback:
    • Press the Button to pause; press again to resume normal playback.
    • Press and hold the + or – buttons repeatedly to adjust the volume level as desired.
    • Press and release the + or – buttons repeatedly to skip tracks.
  5. When finished listening, press and hold the Button for Approximately 3 seconds to shut off the unit.

Notes

  • When the external BT Device searched the unit, our model number “MMA4020”
  • If while pairing you are asked for a code please try “0000” or “1234”

Normal operation after pairing:

  1. Power on the external BT Device and enter to BT playback mode.
  2. Power on the unit and enter to BT mode as previously instructed. You will hear an audible prompt say “Bluetooth ready for connection” .
  3. Wait a few seconds until the unit is automatically paired to the external BT Device. When paired, the unit will sound a prompt “Bluetooth connected” .
  4. After pairing is complete you may now play music with your external BT Device.

USB
To play the music in an external USB Device:

  1. In power-off mode, connect the USB Device(not included) to the USB Port on the unit as illustrated below:
  2. Power on the unit and enter to USB mode as previously instructed:
    • You will hear an audible prompt say “USB”.
    • Music on USB Device will be automatically played back.
  3. During playback:
    • Press the Button to pause; press again to resume normal playback.
    • Press and hold the + or – buttons repeatedly to adjust the volume level as desired.
    • Press and release the + or – buttons repeatedly to skip tracks.
  4. When finished listening, press and hold the Button for Approximately 3 seconds to shut off the unit.

TF (Micro SD Card)

To play the music in TF (Micro SD) Card:

  1. In power off mode, insert the TF (Micro SD) Card (not included) into the TF (Micro SD) Card Slot on the back of the unit with contacts facing down as illustrated below:
  2. Power on the unit and enter to TF (Micro SD) Card playback mode as previously instructed:
    • You will hear an audible prompt say “Memory Card”.
    • Music on TF (Micro SD) Card will be automatically played back.
  3. During playback:
    • Press the Button to pause; press again to resume to normal playback.
    • Press and hold the + or – buttons repeatedly to adjust the volume level as desired.
    • Press and release the + or – buttons repeatedly to skip tracks.
  4. When finished listening, press and hold the Button for Approximately 3 seconds to shut off the unit.

Notes

  • Up to 32 GB TF (Micro SD) Card the unit supports to play.
  • When inserting the TF (Micro SD) Card, make sure the direction you selected is correct. Never insert violently to avoid damaging the TF (Micro SD) Card or the unit. If it doesn’t work, please check if the direction is correct.
  • Before replacing TF (Micro SD), make sure the unit has been powered off.
  • You also need to download the desired music in MP3 format into the TF (Micro SD) Card before inserting into the unit.

AUX IN

To listen from an external Audio Player such as MP3 Player, Discman … etc.

  1. In power-off mode, connect one end of the supplied Audio Connection Cable To the AUX(Aux/Line in) Jack on the external Audio Player.

  2. Connect the other end To AUX(Aux/Line in) Jack on the back of the unit as illustrated below:

    • You will hear an audible prompt say “Aux-in”.
  4. Play the music on the connected Player as usual. (Make sure the volume level of the connected
    The audio Player is turned to a high level.)

  5. During playback:

    • Press the Button to pause; press again to resume normal playback.
  6. When finished listening, press and hold the Button for Approximately 3 seconds to shut off the unit.

FM RADIO

  1. Power on the unit and enter to  as previously instructed:
    • You will hear an audible prompt say “Radio”.
  2. To store the available FM stations in the unit for first-time use (or relocate the unit to a new location):
    • Press and hold the Button on the unit.
    • Wait a few minutes, the unit will automatically store all the available FM stations in the memory then playback the first station.
  3. During playback:
    • Press the Button to mute the sound, and press again to turn the sound back;
    • Press and hold the + or – buttons repeatedly to adjust the volume level as desired.
    • Press and release the + or – buttons repeatedly to select and play the desired stored radio station.
  4. When finished listening, press and hold the Button for Approximately 3 seconds to shut off the unit.

Antennas
This unit has a built-in FM antenna which provides adequate reception. If reception is weak, reassemble the other direction/location of the unit to improve the reception.
