Operating Your Refrigerator
Beforerst use
- Unpacking of the product is to be done by the authorised service person. Before unpacking check for any exterior damage. If any, inform Authorised Service Centre.
- Keep the machine in idle condition for 45 minutes before use.
- Clean the interior of the machine with a wet cloth and run the machine for 30 minutes before using and storing food.
Temperature Control
- During installation, the temperature control knob should be set on the Summer position and the refrigerator should be empty and allowed to run for about 2-3 hours.
- To store food at lower or higher temperatures, regulate the temperature control knob towards Winter or Summer. (Summer is for maximum cooling and vice versa).
Defrosting
- Your refrigerator needs to be defrosted whenever excess ice forms around the freezer or if the Defrost Indicator in the freezer gets covered by ice. For best results, we recommended defrosting at least once in 3 days.
- To defrost, simply press the Defrost Button in the centre of the Temperature Control Knob. The ice will melt and the water will automatically evaporate from the Evaporation Tray.
Whenever there is frosting around the freezer or defrost indicator, press the defrost button.
Food Storage Do’s & Don’t
Vegetables and Fruits
Keep vegetables and fruits in containers covered with lids or in polythene
covers. This will help retain their freshness.
Meet
Wrap the item well, using a heavy duty wrapping material and molding it
carefully to the shape of the contents so that all excess air is expelled.
Fold the crisp ends of the package to provide a good lasting seal. Do not re-
freeze the meat once it has been completely thawed. Remember, the smaller the
size of the piece, the better it will be stored.
Bottle Storage
Do not store bottles with carbonated drinks in the freezer compartment as
there are chances of the bottle to burst.
Bottles of various sizes can be conveniently stored in the bottle racks.
Ice Cream / Ice Blocks
Do not use covered glass containers for making or storing ice/ ice cream. Use
plastic or paper containers.
Making Ice Cubes
- Fill the ice cube tray with fresh water. Be careful not to exceed the water level mark.
- Place the lled ice cube trays in the freezer.
- After ice has formed, slightly twist the tray with both hands to release ice cubes.
- For faster ice cube formation, use pre-cooled water.
Note: Leave space around the stored items to help circulation of cold air for uniform cooling. Bring all the food to room temperature before storing.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning Your Refrigerator
- Make sure to clean the dust behind & below the refrigerator to ensure improved cleaning effect & energy savings.
- The interior of the refrigerator should be cleaned regularly to avoid odour. Please turn OFF the power before cleaning the interior, and remove all foods, drinks, shelves, drawers, etc.
- To clean the interior of the refrigerator, mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda & a quarter of warm water. Damp a soft cloth or sponge in this mixture & clean it. Leave the door open to let it dry naturally before you turn the power on.
- For areas that are difficult to clean in the refrigerator (such as narrow spaces, gaps or corners), it is recommended to wipe them regularly with a soft rag, soft brush, etc. and when necessary, combined them with some auxiliary tools (such as thin sticks) to ensure no contaminants or bacterial accumulation in these areas.
- Do not use any soap, detergent, scrub powder, spray cleaner, etc., as these may cause odours in the interior of the refrigerator and may contaminate your food.
- Clean the bottle frame, shelves, and drawers with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or a diluted detergent. Dry with a soft cloth or dry naturally.
- Wipe the outer surface of the refrigerator with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water, detergents, etc., and then wipe it dry.
- Do not use hard brushes, clean steel balls, wire brushes, abrasives (such as toothpaste), organic solvents (such as alcohol, acetone, banana oil, etc.), boiling water, acid or alkaline items, which may damage the refrigerator surface and the interior. Boiling water and organic solvents such as benzene may deform or damage plastic parts.
- Do not rinse directly with water or other liquids during cleaning to avoid short circuits or affect any electrical insulation after immersion.
Cleaning the Evaporation Tray
- Clean the evaporation tray at regular intervals, as dust accumulated on it decreases the evaporation efficiency.
- Remove the evaporation tray by lifting it out, or unscrewing the tray xing screw with a proper tool.
- Slide it back into place and lock it securely, fasten the screw again properly. If the tray is not secure, it may cause noisy vibration, the defrosted water may spill or the evaporation process may be hindered.
Method of Replacing Supply Cord
- If the supply cord is damaged, please contact customer care.
Method of Replacing Lamp
- Switch off the Refrigerator, then take out chiller tray. Remove the faulty lamp and the new one. Place the chiller tray in its proper position and switch on the power supply.
Exterior
- Use a soft cloth with warm water and mild detergent. Do not use a brush for cleaning.
Interior
- Wash the insides of the compartments with a mild detergent solution. Do not use boiling water, gasoline or benzene for cleaning.
Magnetic Door Gasket
Wash with mild detergent solution using a soft cloth. Make it a point to clean
the gasket at least twice a year. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to
keep it supple and pliable.
Vegetable Box
Excess water that accumulates at the bottom of the vegetable crisper should be
emptied and the crisper should be wiped dry.
General Information
Vacation Time
During short vacations you will probably nd it best to leave the refrigerator
in operation. Place eatables in the freezer for longer and better
preservation. During an extended vacation, remove all food, disconnect the
power cord, clean the interior thoroughly and leave the door slightly ajar to
prevent odour formation.
Power Failure
Most power failures are corrected in an hour or two and will not affect your
refrigerator temperature. However, you should minimize the number of door
openings while the power is OFF. During power failures of longer duration,
place a block of dry Ice on top of frozen packages.
While Shifting the refrigerator
Unplug the refrigerator. Take out the foods and dry the water tray before
moving the refrigerator. Remove or securely fasten down all loose items inside
the refrigerator. To avoid damaging the leveling screws, turn them all the way
into the base.
