PREPARE PT CONTROL (LQC) SAMPLE

CAUTION
The plasma is biohazardous: always wear gloves. Use a pipette to transfer the full contents of a CaCl, Diluent Vial to a PT Control Vial. Retain pipette for Step 8. Replace the lid on the PT Control Vial and swirl slowly until the color is uniform. Wait between 5 and 25 minutes before using the sample (see Step 8

SCAN PT CONTROL (LQC) VIAL
Tap the on-screen barcode button to scan. Hold the barcode 10 cm (4 inches) from the bottom of the analyzer. GET STRIP. Take a strip from the test strip vial, then close the vial firmly so the lid clicks

GET PT CONTROL (LQC) SAMPLE (from Step 1)
Swirl again briefly, then remove the lid – be gentle to avoid bubbles. You must do the test within 25 mins of Step 1 (60 mins if refrigerated). Use pipette from Step

APPLY PT CONTROL (LQC) SAMPLE
Only apply the sample when prompted. The sample must fill the whole of the white semicircle 1

RESULT
If the result appears, the LQC test is passed. If an error screen appears, see Troubleshooting in your User Guide. EJECT STRIP. Eject strip as shown. All materials must go in a biohazard bin.

Cleaning your analyzer

WARNINGS &GUIDANCE

  • Always wear gloves when cleaning-the analyzer might be contaminated
  • Clean after each and every test to ensure the analyzer is always safe to use
  • Use only CaviWipes (to avoid damaging your analyzer)
  • Make sure the CaviWipe is damp (not dripping): always squeeze out excess liquid into a biohazard bin
  • Never let fluid gather around or enter the strip port-always keep the strip port pointing downwards during cleaning
  • Before cleaning, disconnect the USB cable (if connected)

TURN ANALYZER OFF Hold your finger on the power button and select power down to turn the analyzer off. QUICK WIPE OF ANALYZER Use a fresh CaviWipe™ and then dispose of the wipe. REMOVE THE STRIP PORT COVER

THOROUGHLY CLEAN ANALYZER

Use a fresh CaviWipe squeeze or twist to remove excess liquid (damp not dripping). Do four vertical and four horizontal strokes on each surface (two up and down; two left and right)

CLEAN STRIP PORT COVER
Pay special attention to the strip port and channels inside the cover.

WAIT 2 MINUTES IMPORTANT
The disinfecting properties of CaviWines need this time to take effect
