Preparation before installation

  1. a. Layout protective paper(k) on ground, ensuring plenty of room around area to work.
    b. When handling any part of the screen material, it is recommended to be wearing the included gloves(g) to prevent stains.

  2. a. Layout and check to ensure all parts are correct to the included contents list and are undamaged. Do not use damaged or or defective parts.

Frame Assembly

  1. a. Lay frame as shown in Fig. 3.1, with the aluminium facing up.

  2. a. Begin with the top (or bottom) frame pieces(o). Pre-insert grub screws(a) into the frame joiners(f), as shown in Fig. 4.1, before starting assembly.

    b. Insert the frame joiners into the two slots in the frame where the end is flat, and slide the two pieces together, as shown in Fig. 4.2.
    c. Ensure there is no gap on the front when pieces are together, as shown in Fig. 4.3.
    d. Once in place, tighten grub screws to lock frame pieces in place.
    e. Repeat for opposite frame

  3. a. Pre-insert grub screws into the corner frame joiners(b), as shown as in Fig. 5.1.
    b. Insert the corner joiners into the ends of the top/bottom(o) frame as shown in Fig. 5.2

  4. a. Insert corner joiner into side frame(p), ensuring the corner is square, as shown in Fig. 6.1.
    b. Screen material will not stretch correctly across frame if corners are not square, demonstrated in Fig. 6.2 and Fig. 6.3.
    c. Fix in place with grub screws and supplied Allen key in same manner as top/bottom frame pieces.
    d. Repeat with next corner, moving in a clockwise rotation between the corners.
    e. Once all corners are attached, lift frame to ensure corners are all square and correct.
    f. If there is a gap in a corner, lay frame back down and adjust.
    g. Once correct, place assembled frame back down with the aluminium facing up.

Attaching Screen Surface to Frame

  1. a. Once frame is assembled, unroll the screen material(i) over the frame.
    b. Please note, the screen material is rolled up with the back of the screen on the outside as shown in Fig. 7.1.
    a. When unrolling, unravel the material so the back of the screen is facing up, as shown in Fig. 7.2.

  2. a. Once screen is unrolled and is flat, begin inserting the tension rods(l) in the outer sleeve around the edge of the screen material (i) as shown in Fig. 8.1 and Fig. 8.2.
    b. Begin in a corner and insert one rod, then moving around in a clockwise inserting the remaining rods.

  3. a. Once tension rods are in place, begin attaching tension hooks(e) through the eyelet and onto the frame as shown in Fig. 9.2a to c.
    b. Please note, it is recommended to use the smaller end in the eyelet and the wider hook on the frame as shown in Fig. 9.1.
    c. It is highly recommended to use the included hook tool when inserting the tension hooks to prevent injury and damage to the hooks, frame and material.
    d. When inserting the hooks, it is advised to insert one and then do the opposite side of the frame to prevent uneven stretching, as shown in 9.3.

  4. a. Once all the screen hooks are in place for the screen material, unfold the black backing(j) with the matte side facing the white material, shown in Fig. 10.1.
    b. Use screen hooks to fix the black backing to the frame in similar fashion to the screen material, shown in Fig. 10.2.

  5. a. Once all screen hooks are in place, it is required to have the support bars(n) inserted into the frame.
    b. When inserting bar into the frame, you need to keep it flat underneath the lip of the frame as shown in Fig. 11.1. It will not work if you insert the bar over the frame, as shown in Fig. 11.2.
    c. When inserting the first bar, ensure the bar is off centre to the screen, to prevent it blocking the centre speaker’s tweeter when mounted on the wall, as shown in Fig. 11.3

  6. a. Once inserted in one end of frame, it is recommended to remove two hooks on the opposite side as shown in Fig. 12.1.
    b. Wedge the support bar under the frame edge on an angle, and force it across until straight with opposite side, as shown in Fig. 12.2.
    c. Add the removed hooks back into place once straight.
    d. Repeat process for second bar on opposite side of the centre

Mounting the screen

  1. Locate your desired installation location with a stud finder (recommended) and mark the drill-hole area of where the screen is to be installed.
Note: The mounting components and hardware supplied with this screen are not designed for installations to walls with steel studs or to cinder block walls. If the hardware you need for your installation is not included, please consult your local hardware store for the proper mounting hardware for the application.

  2. Drill a hole with the proper bit size into where the first mark is made.

  3. Line up the wall brackets(c) using a spirit level with the drilled holes on the installation location and screw them in using a Philips screwdriver, as shown in 15.1. Once brackets are installed, test how secure the brackets are before positioning the screen in place.

  4. Position the fixed frame screen onto the top wall brackets as shown in 16.1 and push down at the centre of the bottom frame to secure the installation.  Once screen is mounted, test how secure the screen is to ensure it is secured correctly.

  5. The wall brackets allow flexibility by allowing the fixed frame screen to slide to the sides. This is an important feature as it allows you to adjust your screen to be properly centred. IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT MOUNTING THE BRACKETS ON YOUR WALL, PLEASE CONSULT YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE STORE OR HOME IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST FOR ADVICE OR ASSISTANCE

Screen Care

The surface of your screen is delicate. Special attention to these instructions should be followed when cleaning.

  1. A draftsman-style brush may be used to lightly whisk away any loose dirt or dust particles.
  2. For tougher spots, use a solution of mild detergent and water.
  3. Rub lightly using a sponge. Blot with a damp sponge to absorb excess water. Residual water marks will evaporate within a few minutes.
  4. Do not use any other cleaning materials on the screen. Contact your dealer if you have questions about removing difficult spots.
  5. Use provided velour brush to remove any dust on the frame.
