Product Usage Instructions

What You’ll Need:

  1. Laptop using Windows with:
    • VF Tuner installed and updated to the latest version
    • Full charge of battery and/or plugged into the wall socket
  2. WiFlash Device or Legacy Device
  3. Strong/Consistent internet connection where you will do the writing/flashing
  4. The vehicle to be flashed and its car key(s)
  5. Battery tender (optional)

Reminder: If updating from an old version, follow the steps provided in the manual.

Procedures:

  1. Connect the following together:
    • WiFlash/Legacy Device to the cable
    • The cable to the USB port on your laptop
    • The WiFlash/Legacy Device to the vehicle’s OBD2 port
    • The battery tender to the car’s battery (optional)

  • Q: What should I do if the WiFlash/Legacy Device does not light up during connection?
    A: Check connections carefully and try different USB ports on your laptop. Ensure proper connection before proceeding.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Reminder:
If you’re updating your VF Tuner from an old version, you may want to:

  • uninstall your old version of VF Tuner,
  • delete the installation folder,
  • restart your laptop before proceeding with installation of a fresh/new copy
  • temporarily disable the anti-virus software in your laptop as they may be too aggressive in flagging files during the installation.

PROCEDURES

Connect the following together:

  • WiFlash/Legacy Device to the cable
  • The cable to the USB port on your laptop*
  • The WiFlash/Legacy Device to the vehicle’s OBD2 port
  • The battery tender to the car’s battery (optional)

*In Step 1- B), you should see the WiFlash/Legacy Device light up. If none, check your connections carefully, and/or try other USB ports on your laptop Place your car keys near the start/stop button. Place the car in Ignition On mode. Two presses of the start/stop button will usually put it on this mode. The electricals will start to work, turn off as much as you can. If you have CAN devices connected, remove them as it may interfere with the writing/flashing process. Engine should NOT be running/idling.

Run/Open VF Tuner in ADMINISTRATOR MODE, Right click on the VF Tuner Icon and click on “Run as Administrator”
If your VF Tuner is on the taskbar:

Click the WiFlash Icon

The WiFlash Vehicle Programming Utility window will pop up. will open a window that will ask you to save the installer.

  • Make sure that the “Log Connection to File” is unchecked.
  • We may ask you to have it checked for certain scenarios. But for now, leave it unchecked as a default until we advise you to.
  • Make sure that there is a text on the “Device” dropdown.  if the dropdown is empty, then the WiFlash cannot be detected

Click on the “Calibration File” button and then select the tune file you want to upload/write/flash to the vehicle’s ECU.

Final check of the settings and click the “Flash Button”

  • Internet connection
  • Car battery
  • Laptop battery
  • Ignition ON
  • Laptop should be secure (We recommend placing the laptop on the driver seat, and you are just hunched over outside of the car. This is to make sure there’s absolutely no movement of the USB cable, laptop, etc)

!!!===!!! IF AT ANY POINT IN TIME THE FLASHING FAILS, please redo everything BUT THIS TIME, make sure there is a CHECK to the “Log Connection to File Connection” (this will only function if you run VF Tuner as administrator). Please send us the file that it will create in the VF Tuner Install folder so we can diagnose the error. !!!===!!!

Wait for the Flash to Finish and then after, check if you can start the vehicle
