Product Usage Instructions:
Installing the Air Flap
- If an XCI-Box is not installed, follow the installation instructions to install and activate the XCI-Box.
- Attach the air flap to the vent duct of the tumble dryer using the provided M4 x 12.5 screw. Drill a 3 mm diameter hole for this purpose.
- Route the air flap connection cable into the XCI box and secure it with the strain relief.
- Connect the air flap to contacts 3.3 and 3.4 in the XCI box. Ensure that the total current carrying capacity does not exceed 4 A.
- Switch on the tumble dryer and switch to the supervisor level to complete the installation.

Air flap installation instructions
Reason: if high or low pressure in the vent ducting prevents the fan impeller from standing still, an air flap must be integrated in the vent ducting. High or low pressure in the vent ducting can trigger fault F218.

Installing the air flap
The air flap is a non-return flap with motorised opening. The air flap closes under spring load within approx. 8 seconds without power applied. The air flap must move to the open position (90° rotation angle) within approx. 8 seconds. The 8 seconds start when the dryer fan starts.
- If there is no XCI box installed, install and commission an XCI box in accordance with the installation instructions.
- Disconnect the tumble dryer from the power supply.
- Place the air flap between the tumble dryer and the vent ducting. Pay attention to the specified flow direction (see sticker on the air flap).
- Use the M4 x 12.5 screw to fasten the air flap to the vent duct of the tumble dryer. Drill a 3 mm diameter hole for this purpose.
- Guide the air flap connection cable into the XCI box and secure it with the strain relief.
- Connect the air flap to contacts 3.3 and 3.4 in the XCI box, see [> 4].
- If several components are connected to the XCI box, pay attention to the maximum current carrying capacity of 4 A.
- Switch on the tumble dryer.
- Switch to the supervisor level.
- For machines with Performance Plus controls (touch display): go to External applications and set the Additional fan option to On.
- For machines with Performance controls (7-segment): set the “Additional external fan” option (see operating instructions for option number) to -01.
