BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  • Please let the dehumidifier stand outside the packaging for 24 HOURS before plugging it in.
  • During transit, the dehumidifiers may have encountered tilting or inversion. Allowing the dehumidifiers to stand for 24 hours ensures that the compressor oil settles after transportation. Neglecting this step could potentially affect the dehumidifier’s performance and lifespan.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • Place the dehumidifier on a flat surface to minimize vibration and or noise.
  • Before use, check the power cord for any damage. Do not operate the dehumidifier if the power cord or plug is damaged.

  • Avoid operating the dehumidifier in standing water and ensure the motor and wiring stay dry.
  • Never immerse the dehumidifier in water or other liquids.
  • Keep the dehumidifier away from heat-generating devices, flammable materials, or hazardous substances.
  • Make sure to turn off and unplug the power supply before cleaning or storing the dehumidifier.
  • Always grasp the plug (not the cord) to unplug.
  • Do not insert fingers or other items into the air inlet or outlet.
  • Avoid sitting, standing, or placing heavy objects on the dehumidifier.
  • Disconnect the power if you notice strange sounds, odours, or smoke coming from the dehumidifier.

The LCD Displays

  • 88 RH (%): This display reveals the current room humidity percentage. When configuring your desired humidity level with the Up or Down button, the display shifts to show the previous target humidity value. During adjustments, it blinks to indicate ongoing changes. After 5 seconds of adjustment, this display automatically reverts to showcasing the current room humidity percentage.
  • 88 Temp (°F): This display typically shows the current room temperature. During the timer setting, the display switches to show the timer value being input.

The Indicator Lights

  • Low: The Low light illuminates when the fan speed is set to low.

  • High: The High light illuminates when the fan speed is set to high.

  • Timer: The Timer light illuminates when the timer function is enabled.

  • Defrost: The Defrost light illuminates when the dehumidifier is in the defrosting process. This occurs when frost accumulates on the interior. While defrosting, the fan operates, but the compressor does not. The dehumidifying function temporarily pauses until the frost has melted.
Once defrosting is complete, the Defrost light disappears, and the dehumidifier automatically resumes its dehumidification operation.
    NOTE:
If the defrost process occurs frequently, it signals a low room temperature. For optimal performance, especially if the room temperature is below 60°F, consider heating the room to enhance the drying efficiency.

  • Cont: The Cont light illuminates when the dehumidifier enters Continuous Dehumidification Mode. In this mode, the target humidity value adjusts to 10, and the dehumidifier operates continuously.

  • Running: Green light illuminates when the machine is turned on. Red light illuminates when the machine is turned off.

The Control Buttons

  • Power Button: Press to turn the dehumidifier on/off.
  • Up Button: Press to increase humidity or timer settings.
  • Down Button: Press to decrease humidity or timer settings.
  • Fan Button: Press to adjust fan speed (high or low).
  • Timer Button: Press to set a timer and check its status.
  • Cont Button: Press to activate Continuous Dehumidification Mode.

Note:
You can activate Continuous Dehumidification Mode by pressing the Down button and setting the target humidity value to 10%. To exit this mode, press the Up Button and increase the target humidity value above 10.

Operating the Dehumidifier
  • Turn the Dehumidifier on
Press the Power button to turn the dehumidifier on. The Running indicator switches from a Red light to a Green light when the dehumidifier is on.

  • Check the Room’s Humidity
Refer to the 88 RH (%) on the control panel to check the current room humidity percentage.

  • Set Desired Humidity Percentage Value
Press the Up or Down button to set your desired humidity between 10% and 90%, in 1% increments. Recommended settings are typically between 40% and 60%. The left display above RH (%) shifts to show the previous target humidity value and flashes during adjusting. Ensure the set humidity is at least 5% lower than the room humidity.

NOTE:
This dehumidifier with a humidistat will stop and start automatically to maintain a room humidity level within ±3% of the set point.

For example, if the set humidity is 50%,

  • when the inlet humidity level the dehumidifier detects is 47%, 3% lower than the set humidity, the dehumidifier will automatically stop and enter into standby mode where the compressor stops and the humidity readout number flashes.
  • then, when the inlet humidity level the dehumidifier detects rises to 53%, 3% higher than the set humidity, the dehumidifier will automatically restart.
  • If the set humidity equals or exceeds the room humidity, the dehumidifier won’t start.
  • If the target humidity is set at 10%, the dehumidifier will automatically enter Continuous Dehumidification Mode where the dehumidifier will run continuously.

Timer Setting for On/Off
The TIMER function lets you schedule the dehumidifier to turn on (AUTO-ON) or off (AUTO-OFF) after a delay of 1 to 24 hours.

  • To set AUTO-ON timer: When the dehumidifier is off, selecting Timer activates it after the set hours.
  • To set AUTO-OFF timer: When the dehumidifier is on, selecting Timer turns it off after the set hours.

Follow these steps to set the TIMER:

  • Press the Timer Button; the Time indicator illuminates, and the left display (showing temperature readout) changes to 00, flashing.
  • Adjust the timer setting using the Up or Down button in 1-hour increments.
  • After selecting the target timer value, the left display returns to show the room temperature.
  • When the timer function is activated, press the Timer Button again, the left display (showing temperature readout) will show the time remaining (8,7,6, etc.) until the dehumidifier starts or stops.
  • To disable the timer function, manually turn ON/OFF the dehumidifier, or set the timer to 00.

NOTE:

  • Ensure power is supplied to the dehumidifier before entering the AUTO ON TIMER setting.
  • For the AUTO ON setting, turn on the dehumidifier to select a desired humidity level; otherwise, it maintains the previous setting.
  • You can only set the AUTO ON timer when the dehumidifier is off or set an AUTO OFF timer when it’s on, but not be able to set both autos ON and AUTO OFF timers simultaneously.
  • TIMER functions only once, not cycling the dehumidifier indefinitely.
  • TIMER is disabled if the dehumidifier is powered on/off manually.

Water Drainage
Ensure the drain hose is attached before starting the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier will automatically drain condensation water through the hose.

NOTE:
If the drain hose is directed to a bucket, regularly check and empty the bucket to prevent overflowing.

Turn the Dehumidifier off
Press the Power button to turn the dehumidifier off. The Running indicator changes from Green to Red.

NOTE:

  • To protect the compressor, the fan runs for 5 seconds after the dehumidifier shuts off.
  • So please do not disconnect the power cord to force the dehumidifier to stop. Always use the Power button.

Smart Functions

  1. Compressor 3-Minute Delay
To prevent any potential damage, the dehumidifier incorporates a 3-minute delay after a complete cycle. Following this interval, the compressor automatically starts operation. In essence, if you power off and restart the dehumidifier immediately, the compressor initiates after a 3-minute delay.

  2. Auto Defrost
When frost accumulates on the coils, the compressor cycles off, and the fan operates until the frost dissipates. The Defrost light signals the defrosting process.

  3. Auto-Restart
In the event of an unexpected shutdown due to a power outage, the dehumidifier will automatically restart with the previous function settings once power is restored.

  4. Temperature Protection Function

    • When the room temperature is higher than 100°F, the dehumidifier will automatically enter into a HIGH-TEMPERATURE PROTECTION SYSTEM. The LCD screen displays an “-H” message, and the compressor stops.
    • When the room temperature is lower than 40°F, the dehumidifier will automatically enter into LOW-TEMPERATURE PROTECTION SYSTEM. The LCD screen displays an “-L” message, and the dehumidifier ceases operation.
    • NOTE: When encountering a “-H” or “-L” message in normal circumstances, please contact Airecoler customer service at service@airecoler.com for technical support.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

WARNING:
Ensure the dehumidifier is turned OFF, and the plug is removed from the power socket before performing any cleaning or maintenance.

  1. Cleaning the Dehumidifier

    • Clean the dehumidifier housing with a soft damp cloth.

    • Do not use chemical solvents such as benzene, alcohol, gasoline or other heavy-duty cleaners, as they may harm the surface.
  2. Cleaning the Air Filter
If the filter gets blocked, it can hinder the dehumidifier’s performance. Clean the air filter every 2 weeks or more frequently in dusty or pet-fur- laden environments.
Follow the steps below to clean the filter:

    • Pull to the left to take the filter out.
    • Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove large debris or dust.
    • Wash the filter in lukewarm, soapy water (below 104°F or 40°C) or use a neutral cleaning agent.
    • Rinse the filter with clean water and thoroughly dry it.
    • Re-install the filter.
    • NOTE: DO NOT operate the dehumidifier without a filter, as dirt and lint may clog it, reducing performance.Airecoler-GT-X5-Commercial-Dehumidifier-for-Crawlspaces-and-Basements-Fig- \(6\)
  3. Storage Guidelines

    • Allow 1 day after turning off the dehumidifier for complete drainage.
    • Clean the dehumidifier and air filter. Ensure the entire dehumidifier is clean and dry.
    • Wrap the cord and hose, bundling them for safekeeping.
    • Cover the dehumidifier with a plastic bag.
