Electronic Oven Controls
Settings
The Settings selection key allows you access to the hidden functions within the Electronic Oven Control. These hidden functions are as below, You can use Arrow buttons to toggle to your favorite choice, use BACK button to back to previous screen, use CONFIRM/MENU button to select, and use CANCEL button to exit Settings.
Standby Mode
When no functions are being used, the microwave oven will switch to standby
mode and slightly dim the display brightness after about 10 minutes. Press any
button or open the door, the display will return to normal lightness.
KCF Mode
For guidance on usage and a complete list of models with KCF mode, visit
www.star-k.org. The KCF mode sets the microwave oven
to remain on in a Bake setting until holding the CANCEL button for around 3
seconds to turned it off. After the KCF mode is set, lights, displays and 12
hours shut off will be disabled.
To Set KCF Mode:
- Press the Setting button.
- Press the right arrow button repeatedly until KCF Mode.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to Set KCF.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to enter KCF. The microwave oven is now in KCF mode and is Sabbath-compliant.
Press and hold the CANCEL button for around 3 seconds at any time and return to the normal cooking mode (not Sabbath compliant).
To Bake Using KCF Mode:
After the KCF Bake is set, lights, displays and 12 hours shut off will be
disabled. Only set temperature display. Press CONFIRM/MENU button to set KCF
bake, and only the following buttons will function
- “Right” and “Left” arrow buttons
- CANCEL (Hold for around 3 secs.)
To set KCF Bake without cooking time:
- Press the Setting button.
- Press the right arrow button repeatedly until KCF Mode.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to enter KCF Mode.
- Press the right arrow button until KCF Bake.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to enter KCF Bake.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button twice to the temperature setting screen.
- Press the left/right arrows to set your favorite baking temperature.
- Press the START/+30 sec button to start baking. The microwave oven is now in KCF bake and is Sabbath-compliant.
To exit KCF Mode:
- During baking, press and hold the CANCEL button for around 3 seconds at any time to exit.
- Wait time out (around 74 hours), press and hold the CANCEL button for around 3 seconds to exit.
The microwave oven returns to the normal cooking mode (not Sabbath compliant).
To set KCF Bake with cooking time:
- Press the Setting button.
- Press the right arrow button repeatedly until KCF Mode.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to enter KCF Mode.
- Press the right arrow button until KCF Bake.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to enter KCF Bake.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button twice to the temperature setting screen.
- Press the left/right arrows to set your favorite baking temperature.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to enter the cooking time setting.
- Press number buttons to set the cooking time. For example press “2”, “3”, “0”, to set the baking time to 2 hours 30 minutes. This step can be skipped if you do not set a cooking time.
- Press the START/+30 sec button to start baking. The microwave oven is now in KCF bake and is Sabbath compliant
To exit KCF Mode:
- During baking, press and hold the CANCEL button for around 3 seconds at any time to exit
- Wait preset time out, press and hold the CANCEL button for around 3 seconds to exit.
The microwave oven returns to the normal cooking mode (not Sabbath compliant).
Language
There are three languages supported. The language setting is in the
Settings-Preferences-Language and regional submenu.
- Press the Settings button, press the Arrow buttons select Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press Arrow buttons to Language and regional submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to set the Language. English/Spanish/French for your option.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
Temperature Unit
Fahrenheit and Celsius can be conserved for this unit. The temperature unit
setting is in the Settings-Preferences-Language and regional submenu.
- Press Settings button, use arrow button to Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Language and regional submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to the temperature unit submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to select °F or °C.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
Weight Unit
There are two systems Imperial and Metric for your option, ounce and pound is
in the Imperial submenu, gram and kilogram is in the Metric submenu. The
weight unit setting is in the Settings-Preferences-Language and regional
submenu.
- Press the Settings button, use Arrow buttons to Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Language and regional submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Weight unit submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to select Oz, Lbs (Imperial) or Grams, Kgs (Metric).
- Press the Arrow buttons to select your favorite weight unit.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
Time Format
There are 12 hours or 24 hours format for your option. The time format setting
is in the Settings-Preferences-Language and regional submenu.
- Press Settings button, press Arrow buttons to Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Language and regional submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Time Format submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to select 12 hours or 24 hours.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
Restore Factory Defaults
Users may set the microwave oven back to default state.
- Press the Settings button, use Arrow buttons to Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Restore factory defaults submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to restore settings.
NOTE: System restarts and returns to idle. All features including all Settings and any stored value in memory will be reset.
Sounds Volume
Programming all sounds on/off and changing timers and alerts, buttons and
effects volume.
- All sounds: On or Off
- Timers and alerts: Maximum, High, Medium, Low Off
- Buttons and effects: Maximum, High, Medium, Low Off
Instruction:
- Press the Settings button, use Arrow buttons to Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Sounds volume submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to toggle to the item you want to set.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
Time and Date
Microwave oven will set the time and date automatically using Wi-Fi, or you
can set time and date manually by the following instruction.
Set Time (12 hours format is default setting):
Set the time with the below instructions, for example, setting the time to
3:30 AM:
- Press the Settings button, press Arrow buttons to Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Time and Date submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button when you see the Set time setting.
- Press number 330, to set the time to 3:30.
- Press the Arrow buttons toggle to AM. The display showed 3:30 AM.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the BACK button back to the home page.
NOTE: If you like the 24 hours format, change the time format in the Time Format submenu.
For a 24 hours format, if the clock is blanking on the screen, set the date with the following instructions, the problem will be solved.
Set Date: MM/DD/YY format, for example, setting the date to 01/01/24.
- Press the Settings button, press Arrow buttons to Preferences, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons to Time and date submenu, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the Arrow buttons until Set date, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press number 01 to set the month.
- Press number 01 to set the date.
- Press number 24 to set the year.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to confirm your setting.
- Press the BACK button back to the home page.
Time Format: 12 hours with AM/PM, or 24 hours format.
Charcoal Filter Alert Reset
The charcoal filter is behind the grease filter. It cannot be cleaned and
should be replaced every 6 months, while the display shows the filter alert
“Change the Charcoal Filter and reset reminder in Settings”.
To remove the filter alert and reset filters duration:

After replacing the charcoal filter (see the instructions on the Quick Start
Guide for how to replace the charcoal filter), to remove the filter alert on
the display, retrieve another 6 months duration.
- Press Setting button, use Arrow button to select Cleaning and Maintenance submenu, press CONFIRM/MENU button to enter.
- Use the Arrow button to select the Reset filter submenu, press CONFIRM/MENU button to reset.
The charcoal filter retrieves another 6 months duration now.
NOTE: For roof venting and wall venting, charcoal filters are not necessary, but the filter alert still will appear every 6 months, you can follow above steps to remove the alert.
Connectivity
With your mobile device, get the Whirlpool app, connectivity setup
instructions, terms of use, and privacy policy by scanning the QR.
IMPORTANT: Proper installation of your appliance prior to use is your
responsibility. Be sure to read and follow the Installation Instructions that
came with your appliance. Connectivity requires Wi-Fi and account creation.
App features and functionality subject to change. Data rates may apply. If you
have any problems or questions, contact customer support.
You Will Need:
- A home wireless router supporting Wi-Fi, preferably 2.4 Ghz with WPA2 security. If you are unsure of your router’s capabilities, refer to the router manufacturer’s instructions.
- The router to be on and have a live internet connection.
- The SAID code and MAC address for your appliance may be needed. The SAID code and MAC address can be found in the Settings button with below instructions, or you can find it on your appliance upper left corner of the door, see below illustration 1.
- Mobile device with bluetooth connection capability with bluetooth turn on.
- Latest version (recommended) of the app.
Find the SAID code and MAC address through Settings–>Connectivity–>SAID code and MAC address. Once installed, launch the app. You will be guided through the steps to set up a user account and to connect your appliance. If you have any problems or questions, contact customer support.
Steam Clean
This automatic cleaning cycle will help you to clean the microwave oven cavity
and to remove unpleasant odors.
- Before starting the cycle:
- Remove all accessories from the cavity.
- Put 250 mL water into a container (see our recommendations in the below section “Tips and suggestions”).
- Place the container directly on the middle of the oven bottom.
- Close the door.
- To Start the Cycle:
- Press Settings button, and use right arrow button reach Cleaning and maintenance submenu.
- Press CONFIRM/MENU button when you see Steam clean on the display.
- Press the START/+30 sec button to start the function.
- When the Cycle is Finished:
- Press the CANCEL button.
- Remove the container.
- Use a soft cloth or a paper towel with mild detergent to clean the interior surfaces.
Tips and suggestions:
For a better cleaning result, it is recommended to use a container with a
diameter of 17-20 cm, and a height that is lower than 6.5 cm. It is
recommended to use a container of light plastic material that is suitable for
the microwave. As the container will be hot after the cleaning cycle is
completed, it is recommended to use a heat resistant glove when removing the
container from the microwave. For a better cleaning effect and removal of
unpleasant odors, add some lemon juice or vinegar to the water.

- For better cooking performance, it is recommended to stir/turn and let the food stand 1 minute after cooking and reheat.
- For better cooking performance, try to use the preset button first.
- For auto function, Auto functions never allow any change:
- If the unit is currently sensing when the door was opened, the cycle will be canceled and return to idle.
- If the unit is not in a sensing state, you can start and proceed with remaining time after the door is shut and you press START/+30 sec button.

Manual Microwave Cooking
Follow the steps to cook with microwave manual mode, below example is 4
minutes 30 seconds cook time and 80% power level.
- In idle state.
- Press number buttons to enter cook time, such as set 4 minutes 30 seconds: press “4” “3” “0”. The default power level is 100%.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to change power level to 80%.
- Press the left Arrow button twice to switch the power level 80.
- Press the START button to begin cooking.
- Cooking completed.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to add time if you like and repeat the steps from step 2, or press the CANCEL button back to the idle state.
Assisted Microwave Cooking
Follow the steps to cook with assisted microwave mode, below is an example to
cook 2 slices bacon.
- In idle state.
- Press the Cook button and press the Right Arrow button repeatedly until Bacon.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to set slices. There are some cooking tips shown on the display, check and follow the tips.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU and right Arrow button to choose 2 slices of bacon.
- Press the START button to begin cooking. The cooking time will be counted down.
- Cooking completed.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to add time if you like, this step can be skipped, if you are satisfied with the doneness.
- Press the CANCEL button back to the idle state.
IR Cooking (for some models)
Some functions use IR cooking, such as Defrost, Reheat, Soften/Melt, see below instructions to achieve the best cooking result.
Instruction:
- Do not cover the food with any cover or plastic wrap. Because the detector will sense the temperature of the cover or plastic wrap first instead of the temperature of the food, resulting in poor cooking results.
- We recommend using dishes, bowls, cup containers. Do not use a net high bottle.
- Putting the food in the center, moving the right side around 5 cm is recommended, otherwise the IR sensor can not “see” the food well, see the right illustration for details.
Clean the IR sensor lens when the cooking performance is not good. See the “Clean The IR Sensor Lens” section on the “Owner’s Manual”
Defrost
This function allows you to quickly defrost food manually or automatically.
Use this function to manually defrost, automatically defrost chicken breast,
fish fillets, ground meat.

Tips:
- For better cooking performance, try to use the preset button first.
- For optimal results, food should be 0°F (-18°C) or colder when defrosting.
- Unwrap foods and remove lids (from fruit juice) before defrosting.
- Shallow packages will defrost more quickly than deep blocks.
- Separate food pieces as soon as possible during or at the end of the cycle for more even defrosting.
- Foods left outside the freezer for more than 20 minutes or frozen ready-made food should not be defrosted using the Defrost feature but should be defrosted manually.
- Use small pieces of aluminium foil to shield parts of food such as chicken wings, leg tips, and fish tails. See the “Aluminium Foil and Metal” section first.
- Times and cooking powers have been present for defrosting a number of food types.
- Let stand 5-20 minutes after defrosting.

Reheat
This function allows you to reheat food manually or automatically. Use this
function to manually defrost, automatically defrost chicken breast, fish

Oven Cooking Functions
Odors and smoke are normal when the microwave oven is used the first few
times or when it is heavily soiled. During oven use, the heating elements will
not remain on, but will cycle on and off throughout oven operation.
IMPORTANT: The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumes
given off. Exposure to the fumes may result in death to certain birds. Always
move birds to another closed and well ventilated room.
Accessories
- The provided accessories can help you to achieve the best results, use different accessories depending on the recipe, see cooking tips on the display.
- Metal oven-proof bakeware can be used during air fry, toast, bake, convect bake, roast, broil and dehydrate cycles.
- There are 3 levels to place the accessories, placing the appropriate accessories onto the right level will help you to achieve best results.
- When cooking oily or juicy foods in some cooking function, such as bake, air baking, convection bake, roast, placing the food on the toast pan directly, or placing the food on an oven proof baking plate, then placing the baking plate onto the wire rack.
Rack Stopper of Wire Rack or Air Fry Basket (on some models) Use
When the food needs to be turned over, pull out the wire rack or air fry
basket slightly, and the wire rack or air fry basket will stop at the rack
stopper, allowing you to easily turn the food, no need to take the wire rack
or air fry basket out.
Manual Oven Cooking
Follow the steps to cook by temperature, below is an example to roast a whole
chicken (around 2 lb) in 425°F temperature.
- In idle state.
- Press the Other Modes button and enter Manual Roast function, some cooking tips are on the screen.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU and right Arrow button to choose 425°F.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU to set cook time, such as 50 minutes cooking length.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU to 00:00 on the screen.
- Use number buttons “5” “0” to set the baking time to set the roasting time to 50 minutes.
- Press the START button to begin preheating. When the oven meets the preheat temperature, complete sounds will be heard.
- Press the Door Open button to put food in the cavity to the level 1 position.
- Close the door, press the START Button to start baking.
- When roasting is complete, press the CONFIRM/MENU button to add more time, this step can be skipped, if you are satisfied with the doneness.
- Press the Door Open button, wear gloves to take out the roast, close the door, and press the CANCEL button back to the idle state.
Air Fry
This function is to force air combined with the grill function to obtain a
deep fried effect in a microwave oven environment instead of submerging the
food in oil. Use with an air-fry basket. It is recommended to use a drip tray
during the cycle, it can be placed in the oven bottom to catch dripping oil
and juice.

Procedure:
- Put the food in the air fry basket without overlap and insert the air fry basket on the rack position 1.
- Air fry default temperature is 450°F (232°C). Use the left Arrow or right Arrow button to select a different temperature, 350°F (177°C) to 450°F (232°C) (skip this step for pre-set food).
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to set cooking time (manual air fry only) or select weight (for pre-set food).
- Use numbers buttons to set time in HH/MM, up to 2 hours (skip this step for pre-set food).
- Press START/+ 30 sec to cook.
NOTE:
- During or after cooking, the air fry basket will be hot, always wear gloves to remove and handle the hot air fry basket.
- Allow to turn food at the 3/4 of cooking time to get a better performance.

are the vegetables which need more time to be cooked or take much longer to
become tender. Such as Brussels Sprouts, Broccoli, Carrots, Pumpkin, and
Cauliflower.
Brussels Sprouts need to be halved vertically, and its diameter 1.0-2.75″.
Broccoli or cauliflower need to be cut the into 1″ or 10 g florets.
Carrots can be baby carrots or peel and cut them into equal size pieces, 2-2.5″ length.
Pumpkin can be cut into 1″ quarters.
Flip the vegetables when the system prompts to flip food during the cooking process.
Soft Vegetables| 1 batch| Soft vegetables are easier to cook, and then it is easy to shrink, deform and become soft after cooking. Like the peppers and green beans, asparagus.
Cut the green beans and asparagus into 2-2.5″ length.
For bell peppers, remove the seeds and stems, then slice them about 1/2″ thick.
Flip the vegetables when the system prompts to flip food during the cooking process.
Bacon| 2-8 slices/1 slice| Spread the bacon on the air fry basket, avoid overlapping as much as possible. It is recommended to use a grease pan at the bottom of the oven.
Turn the bacons when the system prompts to turn food during the cooking process.
Use the original bacon (30 g±2 g per slice) for this recipe. If the bacon is thin, the cycle can be ended early depending on the situation. If the bacon is thicker, the time can be extended appropriately depending on the results.

useful to cook pastries, bakeries, meat, poultry, fishes.

Procedure:
- Press the Other Modes, and arrow button reach Roast submenu.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to select.
- Some tips prompt on the display, Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to the next step.
- Select the desired temperature.
- Press the START/+ 30 sec button. The oven starts to preheat.
- After preheating, “Oven ready” is shown on the display.
- Open the door, place food inside the cavity on the recommended level.
- Close the door.
- Press the CONFIRM/MENU button to set cooking time or set delay time.
- Press the START/+ 30 sec to cook.
NOTE:
- During or after cooking, accessories will be hot, always use mitts to remove and handle the hot accessory.
- Allow to turn food if need.
- High-temperature resistant roast pan or baking pan can be placed on the wire rack if necessary.
- When cooking oily or juicy foods, place an oven proof baking plate on the oven bottom to catch dripping oil or juice.
- If you like to do another cooking in lower temperature as soon as this cooking completed, let the unit stand over 5 minutes, or it may effect the cooking result.

- Level 1-LOW: This level is used to ultimate cooking of those product already cooked in the bottom, that still need to develop some browning on the top; otherwise it is useful for those products that have to cook/kept warm for long time with no risk of burning.
- Level 2-MEDIUM: This is used to cook some types of meat that have to be cooked evenly outside and inside. It is also suitable to toast bread slowly, to gratinate foods and to reheat them.
- Level 3-HIGH: This level is intended for those foods that have to rapidly develop an intense browning on the surface, or for toasting bread or to finish gratinating foods.

- Open the door and insert the food to rack position 1 or oven bottom.
- Select the desired temperature and cooking time.

- After the cycle ends, let the product rest for at least 5 minutes.
