Product Usage Instructions
Motor Recalibration Procedure
1st Motor Recalibration Procedure (Applies to Glass and Sunshade Motors):
- Open a Door: Begin by opening either the driver’s or front passenger door. This step is crucial to prepare the system for recalibration.
- Ignition ON: Turn the vehicle’s ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. This provides power to the sunroof control system.
- Sun Visor Closure: Using the sunshade control switch, activate it repeatedly until the sun visor reaches its fully closed position.
Following Operations:
- Perform a one-touch open operation.
- Perform a one-touch close operation.
- Perform a one-touch vent operation.
Important Notes:
- Ensure that the sunroof opening panel motors are initialized one at a time. Start with the sliding glass panel motor followed by the other motor.
- The new motor can only be moved toward the closed position and must be initialized.
- Always perform sunroof motor recalibration when servicing any part of the sunroof opening panel system.
FAQ
Q: When should I perform the sunroof motor recalibration?
A: It is recommended to perform the sunroof motor recalibration when servicing any part of the sunroof opening panel system to ensure proper functionality.
Issue
The sunroof motor is not functioning correctly, possibly due to water exposure
or other issues.
The motors are situated at the front opening of the sunroof. They can easily
become wet when the front drain tubes are blocked, which hinders proper
drainage. Exposure to water can lead to the failure of the motor control
module. We observe a higher rate of failure in the glass panel motors compared
to the sunshade motors. Although both motors are identical, the position of
the glass motor makes it more susceptible to water damage when the drain tubes
are obstructed.
Note: Before attempting motor recalibration, make sure that the front drain
tubes are clear to prevent future water damage.
