Product Usage Instructions

  • Power On/Off:
    • To power on the Dyson Electric Bike, press and hold the power button for a few seconds. To power off, repeat the same process.

Display Quick Start Guide

This guide covers the basic functions of the Colour display of your Dyson Electric Bike.

  1. Turning on and off
    • To switch on the display, first ensure the master battery power switch is on, (where fitted, folding models do not have a master switch).
    • Press the ‘Power’ button marked as ‘A’ in the image shown here.
    • To switch off, press and hold the ‘Power’ button.
    • The display will automatically power off after an extended period of inactivity to conserve battery power.
  2. Battery level
    • The current state of the battery charge is shown on the top left of the display. When fully charged five bars will be shown.
    • As you ride the number of bars will decrease.
    • Note – it is normal for the number of bars to decrease under high loads such as climbing hills then recover when the load decreases.
  3. Pedal assist levels (PAS)
    • In normal operation, you have the choice of six levels of assistance with ‘1’ being the lowest to ‘6’ the maximum.
    • Press ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to change PAS level. You can also ride without assistance in level ‘0’, trip and ODO will still function in this mode.
  4. Display Brightness and Lights
    • The display features a light sensor and will automatically adjust the display to suit the ambient light. In low light conditions the lights, (where fitted) will automatically be switched on.
    • To switch the lights on during the day, press and hold ‘Power’ briefly.
  5. Walk function
    • The walk function is activated by pressing and holding the ‘-‘ key.
    • The bike will be propelled along at approximately 6kph or less.
    • This feature is intended to be used when walking with the bike, not when riding.
  6. Speed
    • The approximate road speed in kilometres per hour is shown.
  7. Trip/ODO function
    • The display records trip distance, trip time and total distance travelled, (ODO). To clear the trip meter, press and hold the ‘SET’ button for 2-3 seconds, (marked ‘D’ above).
    • This will access the MENU section.
    • Cycle through the setting by using the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ buttons, then press ‘SET’ to enter. Trip Clear can be found in the ‘User Set’ sub-menu.
    • To clear, select ‘Y’ and press ‘SET’. To exit, select ‘Save & Exit’, then press ‘SET’.
  8. Power meter
    • On the lower portion of the display, a line graph indicates power usage over time, the lower the line means less power is being used and the range will be extended.
  9. USB Port
    • The display has a USB-C port, (marked ‘E’) for charging devices such as mobile phones.
    • To activate the port, press and hold the ‘+’ key until the USB symbol appears.
    • The output of the port is approx. 500mA. Note, that not all devices may accept charge as they may have unique requirements.
    • When not in use please ensure the rubber cover is fitted.
