SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Before using the unit, please read ‘Safety Precautions’ and use it carefully. Since these cautions are important for safety, be sure before applying them.

  1. Do not operate or touch the switches with wet hands. It may cause an electric shock.
  2. When an abnormality (ex. smell of burning, evokes smoke, terrible sound) occurs, turn off the air conditioner immediately and disconnect the power plug or turn off the breaker.
  3. Do not enter hands or any type of things through air outlet. Since both sides of the fan rotate at high speed, it may cause an injury.
  4. When the unit is to be cleaned, switch off and disconnect the power plug or turn off the breaker.
  5. Do not pull the power cord. Hold the power plug to disconnect it. The core wire of the power cord may be disconnected and it may cause fire.
  6. Do not keep a pet or house plant where airflow will be directly exposed. This could injure the pet or plant.
  7. When the unit is not going to be used for a long period, disconnect the power plug or turn off the breaker. If not, dirt may accumulate and cause fire.
  8. Do not apply insecticide or flammable spray. It may cause a fire or deformation of the cabinet.
  9. Do not stand on the outdoor unit and put anything on it. It may cause an injury through dropping or falling.
  10. Make sure the drain hose pipe is not blocked by anything. If the drain hose pipe is incomplete or blocked, water may fall from the unit and spoil the furniture and environment.
  11. Do not install the unit where the flammable gas could leak. If gas leaks and spreads around the unit, it may cause an explosion.
    • If normal cooling or heating (only available for heating cooling AC) is unavailable, turn off the AC and contact with the service centre. If the AC continues to be operated in an abnormal condition, the compressor will be overheated and can cause a fire explosion. Besides it is a sign of leakage of refrigerant. If there is another refrigerant in that room, that may come into the explosion of fire. For that reason, always keep your door and window open for enough ventilation.
    • If any malfunction, please ask for help from the manufacturer, its service agent or any qualified person. This appliance is not intended to be used by physically, or mentally impaired persons including children or people with a lack of experience and knowledge. Use the appliance under the supervision of any concerned person.

FOR USEFUL EFFICACY AND SAVING ELECTRICITY

Do not make your room too cold. It might be harmful to your health. According to ASH RAE, set the room temperature to 25°c which is conducive to health.

  • Do proper ventilation in the room:
    In the case of less oxygen in your room, make ways to ventilate the room properly.

  • Use curtain in your room:
    Use a curtain to avoid direct sunlight from the door /window for a better cooling effect during the operation.

  • For equivalent airflow in the room:
    Adjust the louvre and Vane properly to maintain the heat /cold airflow of the Indoor Unit. (Only applicable for heating and cooling AC)

CONNECTING INDOOR AND OUTDOOR UNIT

INSTALLATION OF INDOOR UNIT

Setting up Installation Place:

  1. Ensure minimum distance as shown in the barrier. (Figure-O4)
  2. The wall must be solid to support the indoor unit.
  3. There should be no barrier to the air circulation between the air inlet and the outlet.
  4. The front panel of the unit should be opened easily.
  5. If the height of the room is more than 2100 millimetres the indoor unit should be 2100 millimetres higher from the floor.

Setting Up Hanging Plate:

  1. After selecting the installation place, the hanging plate is to be placed in the fixed place by levelling ing with water levelling and marking the screw positions.

  2. For bringing out the drain hose pipe, evaporator inlet and outlet pipe, drilling has to be chosen (for drilling a 70 mm hole) maintaining the reference line (above 40 mm from the corner of the hanging plate) which besides the right or left side of the hanging plate (depends on installation place and other issues).
    Placing Hanging Plate:

  3. Drilling of 5 mm diameter is to be done using a drill machine by the position of screws and the hole of 70 mm has to be done by chisel.

  4. The hole which is in the centration of the hanging plate, the hanger has to be placed there attaching screw (Should not be tightened fully) Then two (2) screws should be placed on the right and left side. (These 2 screws should not be tightened up fully). Then the plate of the level should be checked by checking the water leveler. If the level is in the right place, other screws should be fastened up tightly.WALTON-WSN-KRYSTALINE-18M-Split-Type-Air-Conditioner-Fig- \(20\)

Special Note:

  • The plate has to be placed on the wall with the help of 5-9 screws.
  • After setting up the plate, it has to be checked out again by the water leveller.
  • The hole (70 mm) has to be done from the inside towards the outside by a 10-degree angle.

FIXING DRAIN HOSE PIPE

  1. Insert the pipe into the hole of 70 mm. (Figure 6)
  2. If an extra hose pipe is needed which will go through the house, wrap insulation tape on that pipe. Otherwise, the extra pipe will be poured with sweat.
  3. DraThe drainpipes are to be set downwards for the other drainage system. Otherwise, the regular water flow will be disrupted.
  4. Be careful about the drain hose which has not been bent or blocked in any way.
  5. The inlet and outlet pipe of the indoor unit can be bent in the way shown in the figure-?.
  6. During bringing out the pipe, the plastic part of the right or left side can need to be cut, in that case, be, concerned about that. (Figure-8)
    • Section 1: Only for passing the wire
    • Section 2/3: For passing wire and pipe
  7. The inlet and outlet pipe of the evaporator have to be brought out exactly and have to be wrapped up with electric tape to bring out from the hole of 70 mm.
  8. After that, you have to fasten the hanging plate into two hooks on the upper side and have to check if the hooks are loose or not.
  9. Then you have to press the wall to fix the two hooks on the lower side. To examine the tightness of the hooks you have to turn the two instruments downwards.WALTON-WSN-KRYSTALINE-18M-Split-Type-Air-Conditioner-Fig- \(21\)

CONNECTION OF PIPE

  1. Pull out 2 (two) service pipes from the outdoor unit package & straighten the pipes.
  2. To connect the plug of the service pipe to the nut of the indoor unit, use thread tapes to be affixed with plugs. Use a torque wrench as per the torque mentioned in the following table for the connection of pipe plugs and nuts.WALTON-WSN-KRYSTALINE-18M-Split-Type-Air-Conditioner-Fig- \(22\)

INSTALLATION OF OUTDOOR UNIT

Fix the Outdoor Set:

  1. There must be sufficient space around the outdoor unit. (Figure -10)
  2. The place must be capable of supporting the unit and the vibration and sound level could not be increased.
  3. In the regular movement of the fan, there must not be any interruption of air.
  4. There should not be any combustible gas.
  5. The airflow should not be interrupted.
  6. Make sure the drained water does not create any problems.

Installation of Unit:

  • After the selection of the place, the position has to be fixed to insert the royal bolt anchor bolt and has to be marked. (Figure -11)
  • The drill hole is in the marked position to fix royal bolts has to be tightened properly to avoid vibration and make sounds.

Connection of Service Pipes:

  1. For connecting the outer part of the outdoor unit with the service bulb, attach thread tape with the toflair part of the bulb.
  2. Use a torque wrench to tighten the nut as per the torque list given below:

CONNECTION OF ELECTRICITY

Before installing the AC, ensure the right cable size and circuit breaker, which has been used in the AC. Select cable and circuit breaker for different models of AC according to the table given below:

Note:

  • Do not connect the main power supply with added wire. If the length of the cable is not sufficient, make contact with the manufacturer/ approved service agents. It may cause an electric shock or fire explosion due to poor connection.
  • In the case of AC, the rated voltage is Single phase 220-240 volts AC 50 Hz.
  • To ensure better performance, make sure the supply voltage is within 10% of the rated voltage which is 198-2644 AC.
  • At the time of connecting the cable between the indoor and outdoor unit, you have to be concerned about the wiring diagram attached to the unit.
  • Use an advanced 15A socket for the connection of electricity to the AC.

CLEANING AND PRECAUTIONS

Air filters must be cleaned once every two weeks for better performance and a longer lifetime. If the AC remains in off condition for a long period, the front panel and air filter must be cleaned before resuming. An air filter may be blocked by the accumulation of dust if it is not cleaned for a long period. In that case, the efficiency and longevity of AC may be reduced.

Initial Precaution:
Turn off the power switch and disconnect the power plug of the AC before starting cleaning. Otherwise, it may be a cause of a short circuit. Never immerse the air conditioner in water or any liquid flow, it may cause a short circuit.

Steps of Cleaning:

  1. Opening Front Panel:
    The front panel has to be opened by pressing the two slots provided at the side of the front panel.

  2. Cleaning Front Panel:
    Always use a soft brush/soft cloth and water for cleaning the front panel and let it dry. (N.B.: The filter net should be cleaned with water at room temperature or a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius rather it may cause damage to the panel, its structure and discoloration. Never use gasoline, volatile oil and insecticides for cleaning, as they are harmful to the panel) If the deposited dust can not be cleaned by water only, in that case, liquid detergent may be used.
    Caution:
    Keep the front panel for drying after cleaning and never install it in AC before it becomes dry completely. It may cause harm to the colour and material property of the front panel.
    Steps of Cleaning:

  3. Taking Out the Air Filter: Take out the air filter from the slot by pushing it downwards as shown in the picture.
    Caution: Do not touch the heat exchanger after taking out the air filter, it may cause damage to your finger.

  4. Cleaning of Air Filter: Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust & wash it with water/detergent and let it dry. (N.B.: Use water below 40 degrees Celsius for cleaning). If there is excessive dust around the air conditioner, the air filter has to be cleaned more than once every two weeks.
    Caution: Clean the air filter regularly. Air filters containing dust may reduce the cooling and heating performance.

  5. Replacing the Air Filter: Replace the air filter and connect the front panel as shown in the picture.

  6. It has to be connected as instructions given in the picture.

  7. Before turning off the AC for a long period, turn on the AC in Fan mode for about an hour for drying and cleaning of the indoor &outdoor parts of the AC.

FUNCTIONS OF REMOTE CONTROLLER

Precautions for Using Remote Controller:

  1. Do not press the buttons with sharp-edged objects like pens, or pencils. It may cause damage the buttons.
  2. Do not pour any liquid flow into the remote controller. It may cause damage to the circuit of the remote controller.
  3. Do not place the remote controller or expose it under direct sunlight or any heating source. In that case, the durability of the remote controller can be decreased.
  4. Remove the batteries while not using the remote controller for a long period. It will ensure the longevity of batteries and the remote controller.
  5. When the duration of the battery expires, replace it with a new bat battery

Installation of Batteries:

  1. Insert the batteries before using the remote controller.
  2. Remove the battery box cover.
  3. Insert two AAA (1. SV) type batteries into the remote controller. Make sure that the ‘+’ and’-‘ of batteries are inserted in exact order. Never use any rechargeable battery.
  4. Place the cover once again.

Precautions for using Remote Controller:

  1. Point the remote controller towards the receiver/display of the AC.
  2. The internal distance between the receiver/display and the remote controller has to be 8 meters or less than that.
  3. There should not be any barrier between the receiver/display and the remote controller.
  4. Do not drop or throw away the remote controller.
  5. Close the doors and windows during the operation of the AC.
  6. While not using the AC for a period remove the batteries from the remote controller.

Press the Mode button for the selection of auto mode until this icon  is displayed in the remote controller.

Timer On/Off:

  1. Timer Off: Press the button when the AC is on. 0.5 h  will be displayed in the remote controller. Set the desired time
    within a break of 30 minutes. Press the  button to set time more or less. After the expiration of the setup time,
    AC will be turned off immediately.

  2. Timer On: Press the button when the AC is off. 0.5 h will be displayed in the remote controller. Set the desired time within a break of 30 minutes. Press the  button to set time more or less. After the expiration of the setup time, AC will be turned on immediately.

Louver Function:

  1. The direction of the airflow upwards and downwards will be adjusted by a horizontal louvre. Press the SWING button to adjust. At a certain position of the louvre movement, again press the SWING  button. In that case louvre will be fixed in the desired position resulting in directional airflow.
  2. The right and left-sided airflow will be adjusted by a vertical louvre. louvre the SWING button for the adjustment. At a certain position of the louvre movement, again press the SWING  button. In that case louvre will be fixed in the desired position resulting in directional airflow.
  3. Do not turn the horizontal and vertical louvres by hand. Otherwise, the stepper motor can be damaged alouvrever will lose the proper place being presented during operation with the remote controller.

Sleep Function:

  1. Sleep function will work on the cooling process only.
  2. Press the sleep button to activate/deactivate the sleep function.
  3. After activation, the sleep function  will be displayed on the remote controller.
  4. The set temperature will be increased over time automatically.
  5. This mode is suitable for sound sleeping.

Trial Operation:

  1. Turn on the Main Switch.
  2. Turn the remote controller towards the display of the unit and press the on /off button, if you hear a ‘beep’ sound, then the remote controller is working.
  3. Select Cool mode with the remote controller, and check whether cool air is coming out or not.
  4. Select Heat mode with the remote controller, and check whether hot air is coming out or not. (If applicable)
  5. Select the fan speed low, medium and high with the remote controller. The blower will rotate at low, medium and high speeds.
  6. up-down up down and right-left louvre with the remote controller to ensure the exact movement.
  7. Check TIMER OFF/TIMER ON with the remote controller.

FUNCTION OF SPECIAL FEATURES

Automatic AC On/Off Function:

Effectiveness:
The purpose of this function is to ensure whether your AC will automatically start or not after power failure.

Operation:

Automatic AC On:

  1. This function works in all modes. Enter “Cool” mode and press the “Turbo” button six times to activate the function.
  2. The AC display will show “Ar” for 5 seconds and beep 4 times when the function is activated.
  3. As a result, the AC will automatically start upon power return.

Automatic AC Off:

  1. Press the “Turbo” button six times again to stop this function.
  2. The AC display will not show “Ar” this time but will beep 4 times.
  3. As a result, the AC will no longer automatically start upon power return.

Automatic AC On/Off Function:

Effectiveness:
The purpose of this function is to ensure whether your AC will automatically start or not after power failure.

Operation:

  1. This function works in all modes. Enter “Cool” mode and press the “Turbo” button six times to activate the function.
  2. The AC display will show “Ar” for 5 seconds and beep 4 times when the function is activated.
  3. As a result, the AC will automatically start upon power return.

Automatic AC Off:

  1. Press the “Turbo” button six times again to stop this function.
  2. The AC display will not show “Ar” this time but will beep 4 times.
  3. As a result, the AC will no longer automatically start upon power return.

Kids Mode Function:

Effectiveness:
The purpose of this function is to ensure kids get a comfortable environment in the room when the AC is turned on.

Operation:

  • This function works in “Cool” mode only.
  • To activate the function, enter “Cool” mode and press “Turbo” 4 times.
  • The AC display will show the “Cd” icon as long as the function is in effect.

Way to stop the Function:
Pressing any of the below buttons will stop the Kids Mode Function

  1. “Mode” button
  2. “Fan” button
  3. “Health” button
  4. “Turbo” button
  5. “Up-Down Swing” button

Attention:

  1. The fan speed will be low when Kids Mode is active.
  2. “Health” mode will be activated too.
  3. The louvre will be at a minimum angle.

Auto Dry Function:

Effectiveness:
The purpose of the function is to evaporate the water inside of the AC to keep it odourless.

Operation:

  1. This function works in “Cool” mode only.
  2. If the AC is turned off using the remote controller while in “Cool” mode, the compressor inside will be turned off but the indoor blower will be active for the next three minutes to evaporate the water inside of the AC to keep it odourless.

Attention:

  1. This function will only work if the AC is turned off using the remote controller.
  2. The fan speed will be low during the process.
  3. The first 81 seconds of 3 minutes will show “dr” in the IOU display. The next 99 seconds will count down until O before the AC turns off completely.

Frost Cleaning Function (Only for Selective Model)

Effectiveness:
The purpose of this function is to clean dust automatically from the indoor heat exchanger (Evaporator) of the Air Conditioner.

Operation/Working Process:

  1. This function only works in Cool Mode.
  2. To start the Frost Cleaning function, select Cool Mode and press the “Sleep” button four (4) times.
  3. The AC Display will show “CL” after the function starts.
  4. After starting the function, it will continue for 23 minutes and no other function will work during this period.

Way to Stop the Frost Cleaning Function:

  1. The AC will automatically come to its normal function when the frost-cleaning process is finished.
  2. Please do not press any button until the AC automatically returns to its normal function.

Frost Cleaning Function (Only for Selective Model)

Important Observation:

  1. After starting the frost-cleaning process, the indoor fan will be switched off but the compressor will remain working.
  2. During this process temperature of the indoor heat Exchanger (Evaporator) will decrease rapidly and ice will begin to freeze soon.
  3. After some time the blower fan will run at low speed. Then after shortly the compressor will be turned off but the fan will continue to run at low speed and then at high speed. Thus, the ice of the Indoor evaporator FIN will be melted and the dust will be cleaned.
  4. The Frost Cleaning function will run for 23 minutes. The “CL” signal shown on the display will be off after the function finishes and then the AC will return to its normal operating mode.
  5. Effects of Indoor Heat Exchanger (Evaporator) cleaning will vary depending on the environment of the Outdoor unit.

Note:
The frost Cleaning function will only be applicable when the surrounding temperature of the Indoor and Outdoor unit is above 25 degrees.

Offline Voice Control Function (Only for Voice Control AC)

Offline Voice Control:

  1. AC can operate only by using the listed voice command without remote control.
  2. AC is in two modes (Standby mode and Active mode) when the power is turned on. In this condition by giving voia ce command of “Hello Walton” the AC will be activated.
    • Standby mode: No voice command will be accepted in this mode.
    • Active mode: Voice command is accepted in this mode.

To switch on Active mode from Standby mode through Voice Command:

  1. AC will first be in standby mode when the power cable is connected/power switch is on.
  2. Only by giving the “Hello Walton” Voice Command, the AC will come to Active mode.
  3. The AC will start by giving the command “AC Start” after activating the Active mode.
  4. In “Active mode” if no command is given within 10 seconds the AC will automatically shift to “Standby mode”.
  5. After that, the AC can be operated by giving any command from the Voice command list.

Offline Voice Control Function (Only for Voice Control AC)

Cautions:
The AC may not detect the Voice command if talking loudly near the AC the TV volume is high or playing musical instruments.

Important Observation:

  • After giving a voice command the AC detect the command and give a reply against that command. Another command can be given after 2 seconds of the reply.
  • If any inapplicable command is given to the AC, ‘This setting is not available in this current mode” will be replied to. For example-
    • Saying other commands without starting the AC.
    • Try to change the set temperature from Fan mode, Dry mode, or Auto mode.
    • Try to On/Off Sleep Mode from Fan mode, Dry mode, and Auto mode.

Note:
[ Set temperature can be changed only from “Cool Mode” and “Sleep Mode” can be On/Off only from “Cool mode”]

Offline Voice Control Function (Only for Voice Control AC)

Voice Command list:
Customers are requested to practice the command from the list below:

To activate or deactivate the Offline Voice Control Function of the AC, press the ECO button twice on the remote.

General Inquiries:

  • Question: Will the AC work with any voice command?
  • Answer: No, only by listed voice command.
  • Question: Can the AC detect Bengali commands?
  • Answer: No.
  • Question: Will the AC take command when the Remote is turned off?
  • Answer: Yes.
  • Question: Is the AC controlled by both Offline Voice control & Remote-control at the same time?
  • Answer: Yes.

UV Care Function (Only for selective model)

Effectiveness:
It generates ultraviolet rays inside the air inlet portion of AC to neutralize airborne pathogens such as various, bacteria and other microscopic microorganisms that are harmful to health.

Operation/Working Process:

Way to Turn on the UV Care function:

  • The “UV Care” device is inserted inside the air inlet portion of the AC to emit ultraviolet rays.
  • The” UV Care” function has to be activated by turning ON the “Health” function on the remote control.
  • After turning on the “Health” function the UV function will work and emit the Ultraviolet Rays.
  • When the Virus, bacteria and other microscopic microorganisms come to the touch of Ultraviolet Rays, they destroy the nucleic acid and DNA of the microorganisms. As a result, the microorganisms become neutralised and die.

Way to Turn off the UV Care function:

  • To turn off the UV Care function, the “Health” function has to close with the remote first.
  • When the “Health” function is off then automatically “UV Care” function will be closed.

Cautions:

  • UV Care function does not work when the top panel is open.
  • UV Care function should be turned off at the time of cleaning or servicing the AC.

Note: UV Care function used in the AC has no harmful effect on the human body.

Heating Function (Only for Heating & Cooling AC)

Auto Defrost :
In heating mode, the Air conditioner absorbs heat from outdoors and supplies it to indoors. But sometimes outdoor temperature becomes very low and heavy ice forms on the condenser fin that’s why the heating capacity decreases. If the outdoor temperature is very low, the auto defrost cycle will work.

Defrosting Cycle:

  • After running a long time in heating mode when the outdoor temperature becomes low and creates high humidity, frost will form on the outdoor unit. At this time defrost cycle will start and run for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • The indoor fan motor and outdoor fan motor may remain stopped during the auto defrost cycle.
  • The heating mode will recover automatically after the defrost cycle is completed.

Cold Air Prevention:
In heating mode, there is a possibility to flow cold wind through indoors for a certain time. Cold air Prevention mode works to prevent this kind of flow in heating mode. It does not allow the indoor fans to start until the indoor heat exchanger achieves a certain temperature.

This function works in the following stages of operation:

  • Heat operation just started up.
  • After the Auto defrosting operation is finished.
  • Heating under low temperature.

ACTIONS TO BE DONE BEFORE REPAIR

Inspect the following items before you call for a service agent. If you still fail to identify and fix the problem, you may contact with authorized service Agent.

DISPOSAL

  1. Unused and old air conditioners should not be disposed of in any place. It pollutes the environment.
  2. The inactive and old air conditioner has to be made reusable by any professional or company or has to be destroyed under strict supervision.
