  • Apply appropriate personal protective
    equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical
    work practices. See NFPA 70E, CSA Z462,
    NOM-029-STPS or local equivalent.

  • This equipment must only be installed and
    serviced by qualified electrical personnel.

  • Turn off all power supplying this
    equipment before working on or inside
    equipment.

  • Always use a properly rated voltage
    sensing device to confirm power is off.

  • Put back all devices, doors, and covers
    before turning on power to this equipment.

  • Beware of potential hazards, and carefully
    inspect the work area for tools and objects
    that may have been left inside the
    equipment.
    Failure to follow these instructions will
    result in death or serious injury.

Do not install a MicroLogic 4.3 trip unit on a
network with a voltage above 440 Va.
Failure to follow these instructions will
result in death or serious injury.

WARNING

ABSENCE OF EARTH-LEAKAGE

PROTECTION

Do not use MicroLogic 4.3AL trip units to
protect your equipment against
earth-leakage faults. These trip units only
indicate the presence of an earth-leakage
fault.
Failure to follow these instructions can
result in death, serious injury, or
equipment damage.

1 Required for Installation

2 Before Working on Equipment

  1. Turn off all power supplying this
    equipment before working on or inside
    equipment.

  2. Use push-to-trip button to trip the device.

  3. Use a properly rated voltage
    sensing device to confirm power is off.

WARNING

HAZARD OF FIRE

  • When installing the MicroLogic trip unit,
    check that the snap-off screws break
    when tightened.

  • It is mandatory to use snap-off screws
    LV429513 to install a MicroLogic trip unit.

  • In case of replacement of the trip unit by
    a trip unit with a different rating, you must:

  • re-define the trip unit settings

  • adapt the connection characteristics.
    Failure to follow these instructions can
    result in death, serious injury, or
    equipment damage.

1. Loosen and remove screws of front
cover or accessories as indicated in
instruction sheet shipped with device.
2. Install the trip unit into compartment.

energizing device to prevent access to live
terminals.

NOTICE

HAZARD OF EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

  • Be careful not to pinch wires when
    installing front cover.

  • Tighten all front cover screws to stated
    torque.

  • Do not over torque screws.

  • Do not use power equipment to torque
    screws.
    Failure to follow these instructions can
    result in equipment damage.

  1. Put back front cover and accessories
    as indicated in instruction sheet
    shipped with device.

  2. Device is ready to be placed in
    service.

LOSS OF EARTH-LEAKAGE
PROTECTION
Earth-leakage protection is inhibited when
the IΔn dial is in the OFF position.
Failure to follow these instructions can
result in death, serious injury, or
equipment damage

NOTICE

HAZARD OF TRIP UNIT DETERIORATION

  • Turn the dial to the Test position
    when performing a dielectric test.

  • Turn the dial back to the original position
    after the dielectric test.

  • Do not close the transparent cover during
    the dielectric test.
    Failure to follow these instructions can
    result in equipment damage.

out an earth-leakage test, see pages
11, 12 and 13.

7 Earth-Leakage Protection Test

DANGER

HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK,
EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH
Take all measures necessary to avoid the
risk of electrocution when the external
power supply voltage is greater
than 30 Va.
Failure to follow these instructions will
result in death or serious injury.

Press the test button to simulate an fr es
earth-leakage fault, which allows the
differential protection function to be
tested.
This test is mandatory before
commissioning.
Periodic test: In case of absence of
local regulation, Schneider Electric
recommends that the test is carried
out (1) every 3 months or (2) once a
month for devices in corrosive or
harsh environment.

9 Manufacturing Date

The product’s manufacture date is
coded PP-YYYY-Www-D, where:

  • PP: plant code
  • YYYY: year of manufacture
  • Www: week of manufacture
  • D: weekday of manufacture

(Monday = 1)
Eg: 7Q-2019-W20-3 = product
manufactured at plant 7Q on
Wednesday 15 May 2019
