- Users must understand the operation of all control components and know how to stop the generator in emergency.
- The engine has not been filled with engine oil before leaving the factory. Add SJ 10W-40 (or equivalent) engine oil before use.
- To disconnect or reconnect the connector between the DC module and the generator, turn off the generator first. DO NOT perform these operations while the generator is running.
- The generator must be placed on a flat and stable surface at least 1.5 m away from buildings or other equipment. Make sure there is sufficient space for ventilation.
- The generator must be powered off when refueling.
- DO NOT smoke next to the generator fuel tank and keep the generator away from flames or sparks.
- Use the generator in an open and well-ventilated outdoor space. In order to prevent fire hazards, make sure that there are no flammable materials near the muffler or exhaust port when the generator is in use.
- Keep the generator clean and tidy. Use a dry towel to clean the generator if any fuel or other flammable materials are spilled on the generator.
- To avoid scalding, DO NOT touch the engine or the muffler while the generator is running.
- DO NOT connect the generator to the mains supply or other generators. It must be used alone.
- Place the generator in a location that cannot be accessed by passers-by or children. Children are not allowed to operate the generator. Keep children and animals away from the operation area.
- Pay special attention to the warning and indicative signs and definitions on the generator as shown below:
- Make sure that there is little or no fuel in the fuel tank before transportation to avoid spilling.
- Before use, make sure there are no obvious defects such as a broken terminal or worn cable.
- Properly ground the generator before use. It is recommended to consult with a qualified electrician to ensure compliance with local electrical codes.
- The generator exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide. DO NOT use the generator indoors or in other confined space.
- DO NOT use the generator in the rain or in any other humid environment.
- Maintain the generator on a regular basis to prolong its life cycle. Refer to Storage and Maintenance section to see specific maintenance procedures.

Initial Installation
- Removing the Original Supporting Feet
- It is recommended to remove the two original supporting feet near the muffler if the user needs to move the generator over uneven ground by the handles.
- If the user only needs to move the generator on even ground, then it is not necessary to remove the feet.
- The specific removal steps are as follows:
- Place a wooden or rubber block under the generator that is of the same height as the supporting feet in order to avoid the generator tilting backward when the supporting feet are removed.

Introduction
- The D12000iEP Multifunctional Inverter Generator (hereinafter referred to as the generator) combines the functionality of a battery charger and generator. Equipped with an electronic fuel injection system, the generator offers higher reliability with a stable output and lower fuel consumption than generators that use a carburetor. The generator is capable of charging one Intelligent Flight Battery at a time and also supports a 1500W AC power output.* Refer to the Specifications section for more information on battery compatibility.

Engine Switch
Used to start or stop the generator. Refer to the Using the Generator section for more detailed information. -
**AC Outlet***
Used to connect with electric devices. The outlet meets the IP44 protection rating. Make sure to reinstall and fasten the outlet shield when not in use. -
Ground Terminal
Use a ground cable and connect one end to the ground terminal and the other end to the ground. Proper grounding can help to avoid electric shocks in case of device failure.

Generators sold in some countries and regions have a frequency switch on the control panel. Make sure to select the appropriate frequency (50 Hz / 60 Hz) according to regional requirements.

- When the status LEDs blink indicating a warning or error, connect the USB-C connector of the generator to the USB-A connector of the remote controller using a USB-C cable. Run the DJI AGRAS™ app on the remote controller and check the specific warnings or errors on the charging device interface.
- When the status LED blinks prompting for maintenance, connect the USB-C connector of the generator to the USB-A connector of the remote controller using a USB-C cable. Run the DJI Agras app on the remote controller and check the specific maintenance information on the charging device interface. When maintenance is finished, press the reset button on the charging device interface to turn off the status LED blinking for maintenance.
- If any part of the generator is abnormal or damaged, it is recommended to contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support to repair or replace the part.
Getting Started
Filling Engine Oil
- The generator has not been filled with engine oil before leaving the factory. It is necessary to add engine oil before use.
- Place the generator on a flat and stable surface, unscrew the dipstick, fill the engine with oil to the rated capacity, and screw the dipstick back on. The D12000iEP Multifunctional Inverter Generator has a rated engine oil capacity of 1 L. Use SJ 10W-40 engine oil (or equivalent).
Refueling
Fuel is highly flammable and explosive. Strictly follow the instructions to
use. Before refueling the generator, power it off and wait until it has
completely cooled down.
- Loosen the fuel tank cap and refuel the fuel tank with the recommended type of fuel to the rated capacity according the oil level gauge*. The D12000iEP Multifunctional Inverter Generator has a rated fuel capacity of 30 L.
- Tighten the fuel tank cap after refueling. Use a dry towel to wipe up if any fuel is spilled.

- Make sure to turn the fuel valve to the OFF position before refueling or after stopping the generator.
- DO NOT power on the generator before filling engine oil or gasoline. Otherwise, the electronic fuel pump may be damaged.
- DO NOT overfill fuel. Spilling can lead to a fire or explosion.
Pre-Operation Checking
- In order to ensure your safety and preserve the service life of the generator, take some time to check the conditions of the generator before each operation. Make sure any issues or malfunctions have been resolved before operation.
- Before starting the pre-operation check, make sure the generator is placed on a stable place and the engine switch is in the OFF position.
Common Check-Up Items
- Check whether there is any spilled engine oil or fuel around or under the generator.
- Remove any flammable materials in the surrounding area especially around the muffler and the fan hood.
- Repair or replace any rusted, broken, damaged, deformed, or loosened parts.
- Check whether the muffler shield and the fan hood have been securely installed in place and whether all the nuts, bolts, and screws have been tightened.
Important Check-Up Items
- Checking the fuel level: Fill up the fuel tank before operation to reduce the chance of an operation being interrupted by a low fuel level.
- Checking the engine oil level: Working with a low engine oil level will cause damage to the engine. When the engine oil amount falls below the safety level, the built-in engine oil sensor will stop the engine from working. Check the engine oil level before each operation to avoid the inconvenience caused by unexpected flameout.
- Checking the sponge filter element of the air filter: A dirty sponge filter element decreases the air entering the electronic fuel injection unit, which reduces the generator performance.
Using the Generator
Activation
The generator must be activated before using for the first time. Connect the
remote controller to the internet first. Use a USB-C cable to connect to the
USB-C connector of the generator and the USB-A connector of the remote
controller. Run the DJI Agras app on the remote controller and select Device
Management > Charging Device to activate the generator.
Starting the Generator
- DO NOT connect to any electric devices before starting the generator.
- Make sure the engine has been filled with engine oil and the fuel tank with no less than 1L fuel.
- Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
- Connect the charging cable to an Intelligent Flight Battery that is powered off. Press and then press and hold the power button on the battery to power on the battery.
- Move the engine switch to the START position and hold for at least 3 seconds and then release. The engine switch will return to the ON position and the generator will start automatically.
- The generator starts to charge the battery. Each of the four LEDs of the battery blinks successively during charging. Remove the battery when the four LEDs turn solid or off and connect another battery to charge.
- The battery must be powered off before connecting it to the generator.
- The generator automatically attempts to start a maximum of three times every time the engine switch is moved to the START position with an interval of five seconds between each start attempt. If the generator fails to start after three automatic attempts or stops right after starting, connect it to the remote controller to see more information regarding the malfunction.
- If there are any working electric devices connected to the AC outlet while charging the battery, the charging capacity for the battery will decrease accordingly and the charging time will be extended.
Stopping the Generator
- Turn off all connected electric devices.
- Move the engine switch to the OFF position and the generator will stop running.
- Disconnect all connected electric devices.
- Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position.
Storage and Maintenance
Storage
Follow the steps below for storage if the generator will not be used for more
than 30 days.
- Before storage, start the generator and let it run for five to ten minutes to warm up. Next, stop the generator to drain the engine oil.
- Take down the engine oil drain hose, open the cap by rotating it counterclockwise, and drain all the engine oil.
- Install the engine oil drain hose back in place and rotate the cap clockwise to tighten it.
- Extract the fuel out from the fuel tank to a dedicated container and drain the fuel in the high-pressure oil pipe and the fuel pump to avoid gum formation.
- Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position to cut off fuel supply.
- Place the generator in a cool, dry, and clean place.
To avoid scalding, DO NOT touch hot engine oil.
Draining Oil in the High-Pressure Oil Pipe and the Fuel Pump
- Connect the Intelligent Flight Battery.
- Turn the fuel valve to the OFF position. Place a container under the high-pressure oil pipe. Remove the bolt that secures the high-pressure oil pipe. Press with the thumb and index finger to open the latch between the high-pressure oil pipe and the fuel pump to disconnect them. Place the high-pressure oil pipe down to drain the fuel inside.
- Connect a hose to the outlet on the fuel pump. Move the engine switch to the START position and release immediately. The fuel inside the fuel pump flows to the container through the hose.
- Move the engine switch to the OFF position and install the high-pressure oil pipe back in place after draining all the fuel.
Transportation
The generator especially its exhaust system can become very hot during
running. To avoid scalding or fire of flammable materials, if the generator
has been running, wait for at least 15 minutes to let it cool down before
moving it into a transportation vehicle. Make sure the generator is stable
during transportation and the fuel valve is in the OFF position to avoid
spilling.
Maintenance
- Scan the QR code on the fuel tank to view the tutorial videos or refer to the labels and stickers on the generator for maintenance instructions.
- Check and maintain the generator regularly to keep it in good condition.
Maintenance Safety Notices
- Before maintaining, stop the generator, disconnect all the electric devices and batteries, and let the generator cool down completely.
- Maintain the generator in a clean, dry, and stable place. Make sure the generator cannot move by accident.
- Read the user guide before operation and make sure you have all the tools and the necessary skills.
- Be extremely careful when using the generator near fuel to decrease the possibility of a fire hazard or explosion. Use non-flammable solvent to clean the parts. DO NOT use fuel for cleaning. Keep the parts with fuel away from cigarette butts, sparks, and fire.
Maintenance Schedule
Follow the maintenance schedule in table below. The maintenance frequency
should be increased if the generator is running in a dusty or other harsh
environment.
Contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support to perform the maintenance
items marked with an asterisk. For any other maintenance items not covered by
this document, contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support.

- A maintenance interval of every 300 operating hours/1 year means the user should perform maintenance based on which scenario occurs first.
- After each 300 operating hours users should contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support to check and clean the fuel injector nozzle filter, and drain the fuel inside the high-pressure oil pipe and the fuel pump.
- Visually inspect the fuel filter each time before use. Contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support to replace the fuel filter if the fuel filter element inside turns black.
- Engine oil consumption increases if using the generator in high temperature environments. Fill up the engine oil to the rated level before each use and shorten the interval of replacing the engine oil.
Checking the Engine Oil Level
- Stop the generator and place it on a flat surface.
- Unscrew the dipstick and wipe it out with a clean cloth.
- Insert the dipstick as shown without screwing it in. Take the dipstick out and check the oil level.
- Add the recommended type of engine oil to the upper limit position if its level is near or below the lower limit mark. DO NOT add too much engine oil. Otherwise, the oil may spill.
- Install the dipstick and tighten it.
- Damage to the generator caused by running with a low engine oil level is not covered by warranty.
- Damage to the engine resulting from failure to replace the engine oil by following the maintenance schedule is not covered by warranty.
- Damage to the engine caused by use of non-recommended engine oil is not covered by warranty.
Replacing the Engine Oil
Contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support to replace the engine oil.
- Place the generator on a flat surface. Start the generator to warm up the engine for several minutes and then stop the generator.
- Place a container under the engine oil drain hose.
- Take down the engine oil drain hose and rotate the cap counterclockwise to open. Wait for the oil to drain completely.
- Install and secure the engine oil drain hose back in place. Rotate the cap clockwise to tighten it.
- Unscrew the dipstick and use the engine oil funnel to add the SJ 10W-40 engine oil (or equivalent) to the upper limit. Put the dipstick back in and screw tight.
- Engine oil significantly affects the engine performance and is the main factor that determines its service life. It is recommended to use oil intended for four-stroke car engines and that meets or exceeds SJ standards according to the API classification. Normally, the API grade is shown on the package of engine oil bottle. Make sure it says SJ or a higher grade.
- The recommended engine oil type is SJ 10W-40.
- To prevent damage to the environment, it is recommended to seal used engine oil in a container and hand it over to a dedicated recycle center. DO NOT dispose of used engine oil in normal household waste, on the ground, or down a sewer drain.
Checking and Cleaning the Air Filter Element
- Remove the cover of the air filter and take out the sponge filter element. Clean the sponge filter element thoroughly with normal cleaning agent or warm water and let it dry under the sun. Clean the dust in the filter housing, and use a carburetor cleaning agent to clean the engine oil in the cover and wipe it dry.
- Check whether the paper filter element surface becomes wet with engine oil. If the paper filter element is wet with engine oil, contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support to replace the paper filter element. If it is not necessary to replace the paper filter element, tap it gently on the ground to shake off any dust and debris. Clean the dust in the filter housing, and use a carburetor cleaning agent to clean the engine oil in the cover and wipe it dry.
- Install the paper filter element and the sponge filter element into the air filter, and install the cover back in place.
- Replace the sponge filter element if it is damaged during cleaning.
- DO NOT use an air blower or compressed air to clean the paper filter element as it may cause damage to the intake pores of the element.
Cleaning the Spark Arrestor
- Use a screwdriver to remove the four screws and the protective cover. Take out the spark arrestor.
- Inspect the spark arrestor. Wash it with a carburetor cleaning agent and descale it with a wire brush. Replace it if it is broken.
- Install the cleaned or a new spark arrestor and tighten the screws.
Checking, Cleaning, and Replacing the Spark Plug
Contact a DJI-authorized dealer or DJI Support to maintain the spark plug.
- Stop the generator and make sure it has cooled down completely.
- Unscrew the spark plug with the dedicated spark plug socket and check the spark plug. Replace the spark plug immediately if the insulator or the sealing gasket is broken.
- Remove the carbon deposit or other deposit with a stiff wire brush.
- Adjust the electrode to make sure the gap is within a standard range of 0.6 to 0.8 mm.
- When installing the spark plug again, thread the spark plug into the engine by hand for two to three rotations.
- Continue tightening with the dedicated spark plug socket.
- The recommended torque is 20-25 N·m. A loose spark plug causes the engine to overheat, while tightening the spark plug too much will cause damage to the threads in the engine.
- The original spark plug model is F6RTC. Installing the wrong type of spark plug will damage the engine.
- To ensure proper operation of the engine, make sure the spark plug gap is correct and there is no deposit.
