Product Usage Instructions
Inspecting Package
Upon receiving the package, carefully inspect for any damage or contamination. Notify us immediately for a full replacement if any issues are found.
Sterilization Process
Before handling the grow kit, wipe down your work area and tools with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol. Wash your hands thoroughly and wear the provided gloves.
Growing Process
- Do not open the grow bags until fully colonized.
- Monitor the bags for white mycelium growth (about 30% colonization).
- Break up the mycelium gently by squeezing the bag and mix it well.
- Introduce the fully colonized bag to fruiting conditions by cutting the top open, fanning, and misting lightly.
- Harvest mushrooms before the veil breaks.
Optimal Fruiting Conditions
For best results, remove the block from the bag and place it on aluminum foil in a sterile storage tote with lid. Follow a fanning and misting routine to maintain proper humidity levels.
Enhancing Humidity
Consider using perlite soaked in water at the bottom of the tote for improved humidity. Place aluminum foil on top of the soaked perlite and position the block on it. Continue misting and fanning as instructed.
FAQ
Q: How often should I fan the grow bag during fruiting conditions?
A: It is recommended to fan the bag 3 times a day for about 30 seconds each time.
Q: What should I do if I notice excess water accumulation in the storage tote?
A: Ensure that puddles of water do not accumulate at the bottom of the tote to prevent issues with humidity levels. Adjust misting frequency if needed.
ALL IN ONE MUSHROOM GROW KIT GUIDE
DO NOT OPEN THE GROW BAGS UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY COLONIZED.
PLEASE READ
When your package arrives, please inspect the contents of the package. Look
for any rips or tears in the bags. If there is any sign of damage or
contamination, please notify us immediately for a full replacement.
Condensation inside the bags is normal.
The quality of your spores plays a critical role in the success of your grow
kit. Make sure you are buying your spores from a reputable source, and that
you follow sterile techniques when injecting grain spawn bags. It is
recommended to wipe down your entire work area and tools with 70% isopropyl
Alcohol, wash hands and wear the gloves included with your kit.
DIRECTIONS
- STEP 1 – Pour some 70 % isopropyl alcohol on a clean paper towel. While wearing included gloves, wipe hands, work area, syringe and grow bags with alcohol. Attach the needle to the spore syringe. Open cover of syringe and heat the tip of the needle with a lighter until it turns red in color. Let the needle cool for a few seconds. Wipe the injection port and needle with included alcohol swab. Inject 1-2 ml of spore solution in each grow bag. Use alcohol swab to sterilize the needle between each grow bag.
- STEP 2 – After injecting place grow bags in a dark location with the temperature between 70-75◦ F.
- STEP 3 – In about 3 to 7 days (this may take longer depending on your spores and environment) you will start to see white mycelium growing in the bags. When your grow bag is about 30 % colonized gently break up the mycelium by squeezing the bag. Gently pull the sides apart to allow air into the bag. Once air is in the bag mix the colonized grain with the rest of the bag.
- STEP 4 – Once the bag is completely colonized, introduce your grow bag to fruiting conditions. Do this by cutting open the top of the bag and fan 3 times a day for about 30 seconds. Lightly mist the sides with fresh water to maintain Humidity. In about 7 days you will start to see pins forming. These pins will start to form mushrooms. Harvest mushroom just before the veil starts to break.
While these kits are designed to fruit right in the bag but work best if removed completely from the bag and placed on aluminum foil in a clear sterile storage tote with lid. Remove lid 3 times a day. Fan for 30 seconds and light mist sides of the tote. Be sure puddles of water do not accumulate on the bottom of the tub.
It is optimal to use perlite soaked in water at the bottom of the tote for better humidity. Place aluminum foil on top of the soaked perlite and place the block on top of the foil. Follow the steps above for misting and fanning.
