INSTALLATION
- Step 1. Turn the vehicle off and allow time to cool down before installing. Disconnect the cables from the battery.
- Step 2. Remove the front wheels, followed by the wheel well liners.
- Step 3. From the passenger side, remove the two 13mm nuts securing the downpipe bracket to the engine block, and the nut to the clamp securing the downpipe to the turbo elbow. Fig.3
- Step 4. Remove the two 13mm bolts securing the downpipe to the remainder of the exhaust system Fig.4
- Step 5. Loosen and detach the bracket that secures the transmission cooler lines to create sufficient space for downpipe removal. Plug lines to prevent trans fluid leakage. Fig.5
- Step 6. Remove the downpipe by rotating it out between the transmission and the frame rail. Fig.6
- Step 7. Remove the 13mm bolt securing the turbo outlet bracket to the transmission, and the 11mm nut to the v-band clamp secured to the turbo. Fig.7
- Step 8. Pry the v-band clamp open and remove the turbo outlet. Fig.8
- Step 9. Remove the following sensors from the passenger side factory up-pipe through the engine bay:
- Remove the EGT sensor and place it to the side. Fig.9
- To remove the exhaust back pressure sensor tube, start by loosening the nut that holds the bracket in place. After that, loosen the flare nut that secures the tube. Next, detach the tube from the up-pipe and set it aside. Fig.10
- Step 10. To remove the up-pipe loosen the 11mm nut that secures the v-band clamp. Once loosened, carefully detach the clamp. Next, proceed to remove the three 13mm nuts securing the up-pipe to the manifold. Fig.11
- Step 11. Begin the driver-side up-pipe removal by loosening the 11mm nut to the v-band clamp and removing the two 13mm flange nuts behind the shroud. Fig.12
- Step 12. Move over to the driver-side wheel well to gain access to the third nut securing the up-pipe to the manifold. We used a long extension with a swivel and slid it between the transmission bell housing and firewall to remove this final nut. Fig.13
- Step 13. Begin by installing the driver-side PPE up-pipe, ensuring to use the supplied gasket along with the original 13mm nuts and v-band clamp. Similarly, install the passenger side PPE up-pipe, utilizing the supplied gasket along with the original 13mm nuts and v-band clamp Fig.14
- Lastly, reattach the EGT sensor and EBP sensor tube into the newly installed PPE up-pipe Fig.15
- NOTE: For the installation of the driver-side up-pipe, if additional clearance is needed, unbolt the transmission dipstick tube (do not remove)
- Step 14: Reinstall the factory turbo outlet, downpipe, transmission cooler lines, both fender well liners, and wheels.
- Step 15: Place the supplied CARB E.O. label on a clean, visible location under the hood. PPE recommends using the top side of the fan shroud.
This completes the installation.
