Operation

  1. Before You Start
    Ensure you have read the user manual thoroughly before starting the installation process.

  2. Mounting

  3. Stick the mounting template on the wall and drill screw holes accordingly.

  4. Secure the mounting plate with screws and connect network and signal cables.

  5. Secure the device on the mounting plate and fix the cover onto the device.

  6. Configuration

    • Startup the device by connecting it to a POE switch or injector and then to the Internet router. Configure the connections for home automation systems and electronic door locks as needed.
    • If connecting to a home automation system, use the provided ports for Door Lock Relay Output (NC/NO), Door Contact, Exit Button, and RS-485 Interface.
    • For electronic door locks, connect to the COM1/NO1 port to remotely open the door using RFID cards or a smartphone app.
    • Advanced configuration can be done through dedicated software for Windows or iOS computers.

Operation

Before You Start

  • Make sure all related equipments are power-off during the installation.
  • Tools that you need to prepare for installation : Drill (ø2.846) and gradienter.

Mounting

Install the video doorphone according to the installation instructions on page 4.

  1. Stick the mounting template on the wall. Drill screw holes according to the mounting template. Remove the template from the wall.
  2. Secure the mounting plate on the wall with 4 supplied screws according to the screw holes.
  3. Connect the RJ45 network cable and signal cables for connection to a home automation system and/or electronic lock. These outputs have a normal open relay contact. (see page 4).
  4. Secure the mounting plate on the wall with 4 supplied screws according to the screw holes.
  5. Secure the device on the mounting plate with 4 supplied set screws.
  6. Fix the cover onto the device with the screw.

Configuration

  • Startup the device:
  • Connect the network cable to a POE switch or injector and in turn connect it to the Internet router. After a few minutes, the video doorphone will be automatically connected to the Internet.
  • Install the Guarding vision app via smartphone & tablet
  • The video doorphone can be easily configured on one smartphone or tablet via the guarding vision software. Install the software on your device, create an account and scan the QR code on the back of the device or on the carton box item sticker.
  • The standard user name is admin, the password is “EP”+”serial number with capital letters” (example: EPAE1234567)
  • Now you can receive calls on your smartphone or tablet and view images from the camera anywhere in the world.
  • If you have connected a cable to the COM2/NO2 port of the signal input of a home automation system, the video intercom will provide a 1-second impulse contact upon releasing the doorbell button.
  • This trigger can then be used to activate additional signals in your home, such as sound or light indications.
  • Using the COM1/NO1 port, you can connect an electronic door lock (note: this is a regular relay output without voltage). This allows you to remotely open the door using the provided RFID cards or the  smartphone app.

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

  • All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.
  • Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion.
  • You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

Not covered by warranty:

  • all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity…), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits;

  • flaws caused deliberately, negligently or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use or use contrary to the manufacturer’s

    • damage caused by a commercial, professional or collective use of the article (the warranty validity will be reduced to six (6) months when the article is used professionally);
    • damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article;
    • all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.
  • Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.

  • Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.

  • Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.

  • The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
