The unit draws air through two types of filters – a pre-filter and a HEPA filter.
Pre-filter
The pre-filter is the first stage of filtration. The pre-filter caputres initial dust and allergens particales.
HEPA filter
The HEPA filter is the second stage of filtration. It captures 0.3sized and larger microns at a 99.97% rate.
UV-C Light
The unit is equipped with UV-C light technology which works with filters to enhance the elimination of airborne germs.
Optional Carbon Filters
A carbon filter
Used to help remove odors such as smoke remediation odors, soot, paint fumes, and airborne VOCs. It is used in place of the pre-filter.
GFCI Outlet
The GFCI outlets allow for up to 2 additional devices, such as additional air scrubbers or an air blower to be connected to the unit as long it does not go above the max amperage The maximum amperage of 12 when the unit is turned OFF and a maximum of 9 amps when the units are turned on.
Note: To check to see if the GFCI outlet is working properly, power on the unit and press the RED GFCI test button. If the outlet is working properly, the reset button will pop up. To operate, press the reset button again.
Circuit Breaker Switch
The circuit breaker switch protects the unit if there is more than 12 amps of electricity passing through the circuit. If this occurs, the switch will cut off the power to the unit.
Change Filter
The change filter light will turn on when the HEPA filter is dirty and needs replacement.
ON/OFF
This is the ON/OFF button to turn ON/OFF the UV-C light.
The variable speed control
Used to adjust the power of the unit. Turn the knob to adjust the speed.

OPERATION

  1. Place the unit so that it is in the upright vertical position.
  2. Remove the cover.
  3. Plug the unit into a standard electrical outlet. Note: Each unit needs 2.22 amps to operate.
  4. Turn the unit on and adjust the speed of the variable speed control. Turn ON the UVC-Light technology feature if desired.
  5. The air scrubber can be operated in the vertical or horizontal position depending on the application. Adjust the unit to the desired position.

CAUTION: Do not remove HEPA filter while the air scrubber is in operation. Always disconnect the air scrubber before changing filters.
Removing the top and filters while in operation will expose the impeller fan.

AIR DUCTING

Inlet Ducting – If using the commercial air scrubber for air ducting, a round 12″ round diameter flexible duct can be attached to the unit inlet. Connect by placing the wire in the duct over the duct collar lip. After use, remove it for easier storage and transportation.
Outlet Ducting – A detachable trapezoid-shaped exhaust ring is supplied that will allow a 10″ round lay flat plastic duct to be attached to the air scrubber outlet. To attach the collar, remove the ring from the unit by pressing the release tab at the top of the grill. Place the plastic duct end through the inside of the ring. Roll the duct end outward so that it overlaps the outside of the ring. Clip the ring back onto the exhaust grill.
NEGATIVE AIR DUCTING
Filtering and exhausting air from space will cause the space to be under slight negative pressure. This will help prevent airborne particles from leaving the space, as the negative pressure will draw air in through openings in the space’s exterior surfaces.
CAUTION: Exhausting too much air from space with open combustion devices, can potentially cause a backdraft. This can contaminate the space with potentially dangerous gas.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Use extreme caution when changing the HEPA filter as a hazardous material could be trapped in the media.
WARNING: Always wear NIOSH-compliant protective gear when changing filters and dispose of used filters according to your local regulations.
Air Filters
It is recommended that filters should be changed after every remediation job and whenever the filter change indicator light comes on.
The unit should also be cleaned after each job to prevent cross-contamination.
The filters should be checked regularly to ensure optimum operation. Operating the unit with dirty filters will reduce the airflow and operation of the unit. Make sure the unit is dry prior to installing clean filters.
To change the HEPA Filter, proceed as follows:

  1. Rotate the two clips

  2. Carefully remove the HEPA filter.
Important Note: Refer to the warnings when changing filters.

  3. Install the new filter

  4. Reattach and tighten the two clips.
Note: The life of filters is dependent on the number of hours used and the contamination level.
