Thank you for purchasing your Chefmaster Bain Marie. To make full use of the product please read this manual carefully before using the product and keep it safe for future reference.

Safety Tips

  • If you find any damage when the product is unpacked, contact your Chefmaster supplier within 24 hours of receipt of the goods
  • Always position on a flat stable surface
  • Repairs should always be carried out by a qualified technician
  • Do not overfill this product, keep water below the MAX level
  • Do not allow the water level to drop below the MIN level
  • Do not move this product when it contains hot liquid
  • Do not use this product outside
  • Do not carry when hot
  •  Always switch off and unplug the unit before cleaning
  • Move by holding the product by the base
  • Always store flat and do not store products on top of it
  • If the power cord becomes damaged it must be replaced by a qualified technician
  • This product is not designed to be used by persons with reduced physical or mental capabilities, lack of experience or knowledge, unless they are given suitable supervision, this includes children.

    2 x 1/3 150mm GN pan with lid
    2 x 1/6 150mm GN pan with lid
    2 x Adaptive bar.

Before Use

  • Remove all packaging including all protective plastic, from your Chefmaster Bain Marie
  • Position on a flat surface
  • Fill with water to below the MAX level
  • Plug your Chefmaster Bain Marie into the mains
  • The Bain Marie will now be ready to turn on
  • For HEF576/77, clean the lids & pans with warm soapy water before use

Operation

  • Ensure the bain Marie is plugged in and the power is on
  • Select the setting you require
  • Drain water with the exterior tap after use.
    For models that come without taps – unplug the unit & cool down, then remove the pans & place it by the edge of the sink and tilt the base of the unit towards the sink until fully drained.

Note: This unit has a reset button on the base. If the temperature of the unit is too high, it will cut out. Please wait for the unit to cool down, press the re-set button and the unit will function as normal.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Before cleaning disconnect the bain-marie from the electricity supply.
  • The Bain Marie should be cleaned with a warm, damp cloth
  • DO NOT submerge the bain Marie in water or use water sprays to clean it
  • Always clean your Chefmaster Bain Marie daily
  • It is recommended that fresh water is used every day

Troubleshooting

Fault Possible Cause Solution
The power indicator light is not on The unit is not switched on

The plug or lead are damaged
The fuse has blown| Check the unit is plugged in and switched on
Contact your Chefmaster distributor Replace the fuse
The unit is on, water is not heating| The thermostat is too low
Check water level
The heating element has failed| Adjust thermostat
Add more water if necessary
Contact your Chefmaster distributor

Transportation and Storage
Please handle your bain Marie with care to prevent any damage to the unit and internal parts. The bain Marie should be stored somewhere which is ventilation and non-corrosive gas.
Do not store any flammable objects near the equipment.

  • Chefmaster Bain Marie is supplied with a 3-pin plug and leads with a 13-amp fuse
  • The appliance must be earthed
  • If in doubt contact a qualified electrician or your Chefmaster distributor

To prevent damage to the environment and humans this product must be disposed of in an approved and environmentally friendly recycling process. For more information on how to dispose of this correctly please contact your Chefmaster distributor or local authority responsible for waste disposal.
