Product Usage Instructions

Mounting and Adjusting Brackets:

The brackets can be mounted on the wall or ceiling. Adjust the curtain rod holder position to hang curtains close to the window or farther out.

Choosing Curtain Rods:

Select curtain rods based on diameter, length, and color. All rods are extendable. Use finials from the IKEA range to complete the look.

Creating Layered Solutions:

To create layers, purchase extra rod holders and mount them on brackets. Add additional curtain rods for a layered effect.

Measuring and Planning:

Step 1: Consider the curtain length preference (window sill, apron, floor length).

Step 2: Plan a distance of 5-6 inches between curtain and window/wall to prevent obstruction when pulled aside.

Step 3: Calculate curtain rod or rail width by measuring the window width and adding at least 6 inches on each side for fabric curtains.

Maximum Length Guidelines:

If the solution is longer than 55 inches, add an additional bracket for every 55 inches. Use three brackets for rods between 55-110 inches and four brackets for rods between 110-165 inches.

  • Our rods come in different colors and diameters so you can pick your favorite that is also suitable for the curtain weight. RÄCKA curtain rod has a smaller diameter than HUGAD curtain rod, but both are extendable so you can adapt them to the width of your window.
  • BETYDLIG brackets and curtain rod holders also come in different colors to coordinate with the rod of your choice. They can be either ceiling or wall mounted depending on the look you prefer, the impression you want to create in the room as well as the desired function and distance from the windows.
  • The finials are that small but important detail that add the final touch. Our finials are interchangeable so you can pick your favorite now and change them as often as you like when it is time for a refresh.

Good to know

  • BETYDLIG brackets are L-shaped and can be attached so the arm becomes longer or shorter, allowing you to adapt the distance between the curtain and window. When the brackets are wall mounted, a longer arm enables up to three curtain rod holders, so you can create multiple layers. A shorter arm holds a maximum of two rod holders.
  • When the brackets are ceiling mounted, you can choose any arm length to adapt the distance between the curtain and window, but you can only mount one curtain rod holder.

How to measure and plan your curtain solution

Step 1
Consider the length of your curtain.
Do you prefer window sill length, apron length, floor length or do you want your curtains to softly pool on the floor?

Step 2
Decide on ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted.
Take a good look at your window, its opening and if there is a window sill, radiator, plants or furniture placement to take into account.
Choose whether you wish to hang curtain rods directly from the ceiling or on the wall. This will determine the curtain length.

  • Ceiling-mounted offers better sound absorption, isulation and make the room appear larger.
  • Wall-mounted solutions are usually placed about 6″ above the window. But it is really up to you decide the height.

Plan a distance of about 5-6″ between the curtain and the window/wall, so it does not obstruct the window when pulled to the side

How to measure and plan your curtain solution

Step 3
Calculate the width of your curtain rod or rail.
Measure the width of the window. For fabric curtains, add at least 6″ on each side so they cover the entire window, and allow the curtains to open fully.

Tip:
Are you combining curtains with roller blinds? Add a few centimeters to the width, so the curtains are wider than the blinds.

Step 4
Calculate the number of brackets.
Rules for a stable rod or rail.:

  • Use two brackets for curtain rods or rails up to 55″.
  • Use three brackets for curtain rods or rails between 55″ and 110″.
  • Use four brackets for curtain rods or tracks longer than 110″.
