CONTENTS INCLUDED
HOW TO PLAY
- Place EARTH, MOON or MARS on the SOLAR SYSTEM TABLECLOTH. ® The mat placed under the accessories is in case of gypsum fracture and dust diffusion during the digging period. Moreover, combined with the detailed instruction book, this mat will be an access for children to learn more about the solar system under parental guidance.
- Fill up the watering can with cool water and then spray onto EARTH, MOON or MARS. A watering can is used for softening and easy excavating. The water spray amount is based on how easily you want to excavate.
- Excavating EARTH, MOON or MARS for rocks & minerals with hammer and chisel.
- Patiently take out the rocks and minerals, removing the remaining plaster with the brush. If necessary, you can wash off/rinse the remaining plaster with water.
- Completely uncovering your genuine rocks? Congratulations! Now learn and try to identify your rocks.

EARTH
AMETHYST
Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. It was used as a gemstone by the ancient Egyptians. The Greeks believed amethyst gems could prevent intoxication, while medieval European soldiers wore amethyst in battle in faith that it can heal people and keep cool-headed. Beads of amethyst were found in An- glo-Saxon graves in England. In ancient China, it was used to remove negative energies.
RED JASPER
Red jasper means “spotted or speckled stone”, is a mineral that is more or less produced around the world. The most common are South African red jasper and Guilin red jasper. The colour of red jasper is bright and dazzling, and its red texture is mixed with white quartz, like high mountains and flowing water. It is commonly used as an ornamental stone.
ROSE QUARTZ
It is a rare type of pink quartz (also frequently called crystalline rose quartz) with color that is thought to be caused by trace amounts of phosphate or aluminium. The colour in crystals is photo-sensitive and subject to fading. The first crystals were found in a pegmatite near Rumford, Maine, US and in Minas Gerais, Brazil. which are more transparent and euhedral.
GREEN AVENTURINE
Green aventurine usually refers to chromite mica quartzite, which is a common variety of aventurine. It is a form of quartz, characterised by its translucency and the presence of platy mineral inclusions that give it a shimmering or glistening effect termed aventurescence. The most common color of aventurine is green, but it can also be orange, brown, yellow, blue, or grey.
CORALLITE
A corallite is the skeletal cup, formed by an individual stony coral polyp, in which the polyp sits and into which it can retract. The cup is composed of aragonite, a crystalline form of calcium carbonate, and is secreted by the polyp. Corallites vary in size, but in most colonial corals they are less than 3 mm.
MARS
PHOSPHOSIDERITE
Phosphosiderite is a rare mineral named for its main components, phosphate and iron. The siderite at the end of phosphosiderite comes from the word “sideros”, the Greek word for iron. It was published in 1890, and has been a valid species since pre-IMA, It is an IMA-approved mineral that got grandfathered, meaning its name is still believed to refer to an existing species.
LAZURITE
Lazurite was first described in 1890 for an occurrence in the Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan. It has been mined for more than 5,000 years in the lapis lazuli district of Badakhshan. And It has been used as a pigment in painting and cloth dyeing since at least the 5th or 7th century. Besides, It is also found at Lake Baikal in Siberia; Mount Vesuvius; Burma; Canada; and the United States.
BASALT
Basalt is the most common volcanic rock type on Earth, making up over 90% of all volcanic rock on the planet. It’s also an important rock type on other planetary bodies in the Solar System. For example, the bulk of the plains of Venus, which cover 80% of the surface, are basaltic; the lunar maria are plains of flood-basaltic lava flow; and basalt is a common rock on the surface of Mars.
GREEN JADEITE
Jadeite is a pyroxene mineral with the composition of NaAlSi206. It is found in a wide range of colours but is most often found in shades of green or white. Most gem-quality jadeite jade comes from northern Myanmar. Jade tools and implements have been found at Stone Age sites, showing that the mineral has been prized by humans since before the beginning of written history.
TOPAZ
‘Topaz’ is the ancient name of St. John’s Island in the Red Sea which was difficult to find and from which a yellow stone was mined in ancient times. The name topaz was first applied to the mineral now known by that name in 1737. Ancient Sri Lanka exported native oriental topazes to Greece and ancient Egypt, which led to the etymologically related names of the island by the early Egyptians.
MOON
RED AVENTURINE
The most common color of aventurine is green, but it can also be orange, brown, yellow, blue, grey or red. Aventurine feldspar or sunstone can be confused with orange and red aventurine quartzite, al- although the former is generally of a higher transparency. Aventurine is often banded and an overabundance of fuchsite may render it opaque, in which case it may be mistaken for malachite at first glance.
APATITE
Apatite is very common as an accessory mineral in igneous and metamorphic rocks, where it is the most common phosphate mineral. Besides, it is one of a few minerals produced and used by biological micro-environmental systems. The primary use of apatite is as a source of phosphate in the manufacture of fertilizer and in other industrial uses, occasionally It will be used as a gemstone.
TRAVERTINO ALHAMBRA
This stone is mostly like the black and white stripes on a zebra, which is also called Zebra stone. The stone shape is complete, the thickness and fine stripes are clear, the colour difference contrast is high, and the circumferential parallel lines are not broken. “Zebra stones with characters, flowers, birds, and beasts in their designs will be recognized as fine works.”
GREEN MICA
Green mica has a low iron content and is an excellent insulating material. At the same time, green mica has a brilliant and bright colour, some of which have naturally formed regular geometric patterns, so it has been widely used in the special coating industry in recent years.
YELLOW AVENTURINE
Aventurine, a kind of nephrite, also known as “Indian jade”, with rich colours, including red, green, and yellow colours, is a form of quartz, characterised by its translucency and the presence of platy mineral inclusions that give it a shimmering or glistening effect termed aventurescence.
