Thank you for choosing our product. We hope you will enjoy it.
General Safety Instructions
- Risk of burns! Handles get hot! Always use oven mitts.
- Never heat an empty pot or a pot with shortening at the highest power setting.
- In case of overheating, turn off the stove immediately but do not take off the pot! Leave it on the cooktop while waiting for it to cool down.
Before First Use
Clean the pot as described in soapy water. Dry afterwards with a cloth.
Notes for Use
- Rinse the pot with water before adding foodstuff that tends to burn easily.
- Use the highest power setting for heating or the small and medium power settings for cooking.
- When roasting, slightly pre-heat the pot. Let the shorten-ing melt and then add the food. Wait for the bottom of the roast to turn golden and only then turn the food.
- When using the pot for deep-frying, head the following warnings:
- Oil and shortening can burn when overheated. Handle with care!
- Never mix shortening and oil, otherwise the pot could foam over. Mixing different kinds of shortening or oil is dangerous as well!
- Never add water to oil!
- If the pot starts burning, do not try to extinguish the flames with water. Use a wet cloth instead.
- Shortenings and oils must have a high heat stability. Do not use margarine, olive oil, or butter. Such kinds of shortening are not suitable for deep-frying as they might generate smoke already at low temperatures. We recommend the use of liquid deep-frying oil.
- Melt the shortening at a temperature of maximum 60 °C. Once the shortening has melted, slowly in-crease the temperature to 160 – 175 °C. Use a suitable thermometer for checking the temperature.
- In order to avoid deposits from table salt, only add the salt to the water when latter is boiling.
- Do not use the pot for storing food. When keeping food in the pot for a longer time, the material could get dam-aged and the food could take on a metal taste.
Tips on Saving Energy
- Always chose a cooktop of the same or smaller size as the bottom of the pot.
- Utilize the energy stored in the cooktop and the bottom of the pot. Reduce or turn off the power before you finish cooking.
- If the pot comes with a lid, it should be used during cooking.
Cleaning and Maintenance
-
After use, clean the pot as soon as possible with hot wa-ter and dishwashing liquid. Dry with a cloth afterwards.
-
Soak sticky leftovers. If necessary, use a wooden spat-ula, a sponge or brush to remove leftovers. CAUTION: Do not use hard objects, steel wool, abrasive powders, or aggressive cleaning agents such as chlorine bleach.
Use a commercially available care product for stainless steel pots in order to remove potential discolourations. -
CAUTION: Do not rinse a hot lid made of glass under cold water. The lid could get damaged from the temper-ature shock.
