Introduction
Personal sound amplification items, often known as hearing amplifiers, are wearable gadgets that use a microphone to pick up ambient noise. They then process this sound and transmit it louder to the listener’s ear. A prescription is not required to purchase a hearing amplifier. Personal sound amplification products, or PSAPs, are electronic devices that provide many of the advantages of hearing aids at a fraction of the price. PSAPs, as their name implies, amplify sounds but do not address other aspects of hearing loss, like distortion. They are much less expensive than hearing aids, though.
