Product Introduction:

KAMING Z3-Box turns wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into wireless, and can perfectly connect iOS and Android systems to the car’s central control system. The built-in android multimedia system also allows you to listen to music on YouTube Music, watch video/ live stream on Netflix, Youtube, Satellite TV via WLAN / Hotspot. It also supports playing downloaded files by plugging the U-Disk into the adapter. The Z3-Box 2.0 system has added the ability to download more apps, such as Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, etc.

Condition of Use:

Wireless CarPlay box is only compatible with the car that supports wired carplay after 2015. This also applies for vehicles that have wired and wireless CarPlay connections. Vehicles with only wireless CarPlay
connection are not supported. The system version of both iPhone / Androis Phones must be iOS 10.0+/ Android 10+.

How to Install:

1. Device Connection
   (1) Plug the USB-C end of the cable into the adapter’s USB-C port and the other end into the car’s correct data transfer USB-A/C port.
   (Comes with a USB A/C cable, please choose the appropriate one according to the USB interface of your car)After the successful connection, the blue power light stays on and the car’s screen will automatically jump to the User Interface, as shown in the following diagram.

2. Explanation of Ul lcons (1): Back original car.
   (2): Settings check Wi-Fi Status, change wallpaper, DIY animation, version upgrade, etc.
   (3): Clear cache and accelerate.
   (4): Change day and night modes.
   (5): Check downloaded apps.
   (6): Synchronize the network time.

3. Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Connection
   (1) Click the ‘CarPlay’ (or Android Auto) button to enter the connection interface, and find the device’s name: Z3 BOX-XXXX(2) Turn on your phone’s WLAN and Bluetooth, then connect your phone’s Bluetooth to the Carplay adapter’s Bluetooth: Z3 BOX- XXXX.
   (Essential Tips: please allow the device to turn on the mobile WLAN when turning on Bluetooth.)

   (1)For CarPlay: Click the button of your Car’s logo or “Andriod” logo on the carplay page.
   (2)For android auto: Click the button of your Car’s logo or “Exit” or “Google” logo on the Andriod Auto page.
   (The logo and text displayed by the car logo button are different for different brand.)

How to Use Super Cast with Mobile Phone?

1. Use the hotspot or connect the same WiFi:
   Turn on the “Personal Hotspot” on your Phone, connect the carplay adapter to your personal hotspot, or connect the carplay adapter to the same WLAN as your Phone.

2. (1)For Apple devices: select the ‘screen mirror’ function on your iPhone and select the device name(Z3 BOX-XXXX) to connect. (2)For Android devices: Open the app you want to mirror, then click the mirroring function on the app and select the device name (Z3 BOX-XXXX) to mirror.
   (3) For Windows or Mac OS devices: Open Google Chrome, click the “ ” button in the upper right corner, select “Cast”, and choose the projection method you want.
   Tips: Some apps with subscription services cannot be cast due to HDCP copyright protection, like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, HBO, Spotify, Sky Go, Directv, etc.

How to Use Android Cast with Mobile Phone?

1. Use the hotspot or connect the same WiFi:
   Turn on the “Personal Hotspot”on your Phone, connect the carplay adapter to your personal hotspot, or connect the carplay adapter to the same WLAN as your Phone.

2. Open the phone settings and find wireless projection/wireless display/unlimited sharing/multi screen interaction, etc and select the device name(android-xxx) to connect.

Path for setting the wireless screen projection function of different brands of mobile phones:
Huawei : Dropdown menu-Wireless screen projection/Multi screen interaction.
Samsung : Slide your phone from top to bottom-smart view.
Lenovo : Settings-Display-Wireless Display.
Vivo : Settings-Other Connection Methods-Smart Screen Projection-Screen Mirroring.
OPPO : Settings-More Connection Methods-Smart Screen /Multi screen Interaction.
Xiaomi : Settings-Connection and Sharing-Screen Projection.
Meizu : Settings-Display-Screen Projection.

How to Play Online Video from the Built-in Multimedia System

1. Turn on your phone’s personal hotspot
2. Click ‘Settings’ and then click ‘Wi-Fi’, or click Wi-Fi in the main interface, select your phone’s hotspot and enter the password.
3. After a successful connection, then you could enjoy online audios or videos from YouTube, Netflix, YouTube Music, and Satellite TV. Tips1: After the first connection, the carplay adapter will auto-connect with the phone’s hotspot each time.
   Tips2: Some applications may be restricted by network usage in certain regions and cannot be used.

How to Play Downloaded Offline Files from the U-disk?

1. Download the video or audio you want to your personal U-disk.
2. Plug your personal U-disk into the Carplay Adapter’s USB port.
3. Click ‘Media’ on the UI to check the downloaded files and play.

How to use box bluetooth?

1. Click the“bluetooth”, turn on your phone bluetooth and then connect the box name(Z3 BOX-XXX).
2. After connection, you can watch online video and recieve call. Tips : If you connect the box blutooth, you cannot use carplay at the same time.

How to Use HDMI Cinema Mode?

Here are the steps to use HDMI.

1. Plug the USB-C cable end into the Carplay adapter, and the other USB-A end into a USB plug for a power supply.

2. Plug the HDMI to HDMI Cable into the HDMI port of the Carplay adapter and your HDMI display (TV/Projector/Monitor).

3. Then, your HDMI display will jump into the User Interface, connect a USB mouse to the USB-A port of the Carplay adapter or use a remote to control.

4. Click the WLAN on the upper right corner, then connect it to the same WLAN or home wifi, then you can watch the built-in apps.
   (Tip: The second button of the world TV is free to watch.)

5. Or use the function of cast, different devices has different connection.
   ( Tip : Please refer to the chaper of “How to Use Android Cast with Mobile Phone?”)

How to Upgrade?

There are two ways to upgrade.

1. USB drive upgrade:
   (1) Contact us for a link to the new system installation package, insert the u disk in the computer, click the link to download the installation package. After downloading the file, decompress the zip package.
   (Do not put all files inside any folder, or the system can not be recognized.)
   Note1: Please use Window PC to download upgrade file.
   Note2: Please use USB flash drive with format ntfs /fat32.
   (2)Plug the u disk into the car box. After entering the main interface, the system will automatically pop up the “system update” interface.
   The update time will take about two minutes.
   (3)After two minutes updating, the box will restart. Before entering the main interface, the system will pop up an “system is updating interface”, and the update is completed in seven minutes. After the update is successful, the device will restart.

2. Push online upgrade:
   (1) Plug the box into the car and connect it to your hotspot or other wifi, open the version interface, and click on the device upgrade. The device will automatically download the upgrade package and load it (the time spent during this period is determined by the hotspot network speed, which may cost 700-800M).
   (2) After the upgrade package is downloaded and successfully loaded, the device will automatically restart and start the formal upgrade (please do not power off during the process, which takes 7-10 minutes).
   (3) After the update is successful, the device will automatically restart. Then the upgrade finish.
   Tips:
   (1) The online upgrade applies only to the version of a certain batch.
   (2)Online upgrade requires higher stability of the network!
   (3) Usb drive upgrade is more stable and does not need to spend traffic to load the upgrade package.
   (4) If there are delays after updating, please try to reset the box. (settings-general settings-reset-sure)

Settings with detailed explanation:

1. Change the boot animation and turn on / off the animated sound.
2. Check the system, launcher version and update.
3. General settings: Change language, time zone, upload log file, clean cache, etc.
4. Check the SN code and resolution.
5. Change wall Paper.1. Change the time zone.
   2. Upload the log file. (If you encounter a problem and cannot solve it, please regularly operate the action during the malfunction and record the time of the action. Then, click the button to upload the log and send your SN code to technical support.)
   3. Clear the cache.
   4. Change the font size of the built-in apps.
   5. Download more apps.
   Tips : How to download more apps
   (1). Go the google chrome or contact us to download the app apk into your U-disk and then plug in the box.
   (2). Click setting-general settings-engineering mode-enter the password(1268)-click intall.
   (3). It is recommended to download no more than 3 software and delete those that are not commonly used, otherwise it may affect the device’s running speed.

Troubleshooting:

1. Will the device work on my vehicle?
   If your vehicle has a factory-installed wired CarPlay unit – Yes! This also work for vehicles that have wired and wireless CarPlay connections.
   Vehicles with only wireless CarPlay connection are not supported. Such as BMW and Tesla.

2. I’m sure my car supports wired carplay. Why nothing happen on the car screen after inserting this box?
   1)Check whether your box is connected to data port not charging port
   2)Check whether the blue light is off, the data cable may be damaged.
   3)Please check that the connection setting of your car’s startup application is apple CARPLAY by default, if it is Android Auto or other applications, please enter the vehicle settings to change it or reset your car. Please refer to the operation video on the details page or write to us. (This is the most common reason)
   4)Feel free to write to us!

3. The adapter is compatible with my car, but it occasionally disconnects. How to solve it?
   1)Please check whether each connection port is tight rather than loose.
   2)Forget the previous Bluetooth pairing on the phone, unplug the box, and reconnect the box.
   3)If the disconnection occurs when using carplay or auto, please go back to the box homepage to check whether the box is connected to the hotspot of your phone and disconnect the hotspot.
   4)Reset the box or Restore car system to factory settings and try again.
   (This is the most effective way)

5. Why is there only sound but no video when using phone to maracas Netflix?
   Due to the limitations of the HDCP protocol, some paid subscription software are unable to maracaist on some devices , such as Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Sky Go, etc.
