Your Q-Collar’s indications for Use

The Q-Collar is a non-invasive device intended to be worn around the neck of athletes aged 13 years and older during sports activities to aid in the protection of the brain from effects associated with repetitive sub-concussive head impacts.

WEARING AND REMOVING YOUR Q-COLLAR

Simply place the collar on your neck, with the logo right side up, and directly on the skin as shown.

The Q-Collar should be worn directly on your neck, under apparel or laceration guards. It is intended to be worn with other protective sports equipment.
Remove the Q-Collar by simply reversing the steps you took to put it on.
The Fit Check tool provided with your purchase will help confirm you have the right fit prior to use. Routinely use the Fit Check tool to confirm proper fit.

  • CORRECT FIT
  • Place the notch on the left side of the tool into the collar tip. Look if the other collar tip lines up in the green area of the tool. If the tip does not land in the green area, it does not fit. If the Q-Collar touches anywhere within the green area, it indicates a correct fit.
  • Q-COLLAR IS TOO SMALL
    • If the collar tip is on the outside of the green area it is too small.
    • If too small, order the next LARGER collar size.
  • Q-COLLAR IS TOO LARGE
    • If the collar tip is on the inside of the green area it is too large.
    • If too large, order the next SMALLER collar size.Q30 Q-Collar Device for Athletes-fig3

adjusting to Your Q-Collar

As with other pieces of new sports equipment—like mouthguards, knee braces, helmets, and hockey neck guards—it may take some time to get used to your new Q-Collar. This adjustment period is normal. Each athlete’s experience will be different. We suggest wearing the Q-Collar during these activities prior to wearing it in competition:

  • Non-athletic activity like walking, reading or watching TV
  • General exercise and conditioning, including cardio and weight training
  • Team or individual practices

Storing and cleaning Your Q-Collar

When not in use, it is recommended to store your Q-Collar in the case provided. Please do not directly apply gels, lotions or ointments including sunscreen onto the collar. If you do need to clean your Q-Collar, simply wash by hand with mild detergent or disinfecting wipes.

clinical evidence

The Q-Collar has been the subject of numerous independent studies involving athletes playing hockey, soccer, and football. These studies relied on images
of the brain to demonstrate that use of the Q-Collar can aid in the protection of the brain from effects associated with repetitive sub-concussive head impacts during sports activities. The studies were conducted by leading research institutions in North America and have resulted in several peer- reviewed publications that can be accessed by scanning the following QR Code.
