Upgrading RAM and replacing hard drives
Preparation before upgrading
- Switch off all peripheral devices connected to the Mini PC.
- Turn off the Mini PC and disconnect the power cord;
- Open the external DDR cover (left side) of the Mini PC.
- How to open the DDR cover: First, stir the safety catch upwards, then push the DDR cover to the right to open the DDR cover (The SSD cover can be opened in the same way)
Replacing RAM
- To upgrade your RAM, be sure to select a RAM module that meets the requirements: DDR5: 4800MHz SO-DIMM。
- Removing the old RAM module: Unfold gently the white retaining clips at each end of the RAM socket so that the module pops out of the socket. Holding the module by its edges, remove it from the socket and store it in the antistatic packaging.
- Installing a new RAM module: First align the bottom edge notch of the RAM module with the protrusion on the socket; then insert the bottom edge of the RAM module into the socket at a 90-degree right angle, and once the module is inserted, press down on the outer edge of the module until retaining clips snap into place and make sure that the clips are securely in position, and then close the DDR cover on completion (as shown in the following figure).
Replacing or installing the M.2 SSD (installing a new SSD requires
reinstalling the system)
Remove the pre-installed SSD (if any) from the connector with a screwdriver in
a counterclockwise direction; then align the notch on the bottom of the new
M.2 SSD with the protrusion on the connector, and then install the bottom edge
of the M.2 SSD into the connector, and finally use a screwdriver in a
clockwise direction to secure the M.2 SSD to the bracket through the
screwdriver, and then close the SSD cover (as shown in the picture below).
