Maintenance of the electric pruning shears
Adjust scissors
Before using the electric pruning shears, check the clearance on the blade. If there is play on the blade, this must be remedied by adjusting the blades.
-
Loosen the screw counter clockwise with a screwdriver as shown in Figure 1, and remove the screw as shown in Figure 2.
-
Use a socket wrench to adjust the locknut until it reaches the correct tightness, not too tight, as shown in Figure 3
-
Retighten the screw as shown in Figure 4 and check the blade’s closing.
Note: When the pruning shears are closed, the blades should not swing sideways. If the blades swing sideways it creates a gap between the two blades, preventing the gear teeth from meshing correctly and damaging the mechanical structure.
Sharpening the blade
- Switch off the electric pruning shears when the blade is open and remove the battery!
- Sharpen the blades of the shears with a sharpening stone on the cutting edge.
- Clean the blade after sharpening.
Replace blade
Switch off the electric pruning shears when the blade is open and remove the battery!
-
Use a screwdriver to loosen the two screws on the housing and remove the housing, shown in Figure 1.
-
Use tools to loosen the screw and anti-loosen washer as shown in Figure 2.
-
Use a socket wrench to loosen the locknut and remove the stop ring as shown in Figure 3.
-
Remove the old movable blade and replace it with a new one, shown in **figure 4.
