Packing Open and Installation

What’s in the box?

Open the box and check for the following items:

  • W50 Android Scanner device
  • SIM card or Micro SD slot (for storage)
  • Battery
  • Charging cable

Install the SIM or Micro SD

Insert your SIM card or Micro SD into the designated slot on the device.

Using Battery

Insert the battery into the device following the provided instructions.

Charging the Device

Connect the charging cable to the device and a power source to charge it.

Scanning

To scan items, point the scan head at the barcode or QR code and press the function button to capture the data.

Screenshot

To take a screenshot, press the designated button combination as per the user manual.

Packing Open and Installation

What’s in the box?
When you receive the package, open and check the packing list in the package.

Install the SIM or Micro SD

  • Unlock the back cover tabs and remove the battery.
  • Place the SIM card or Micro SD Card into the tray as shown.

Using Battery
The W50 uses a non-removable battery, after receiving it you can turn it on directly and use it, if you can’t turn it on please use the original power cable in the package to charge it for 30 minutes and then it will work normally.

  • Do not leave the battery unused for a long time, no matter it is in the device or inventory.
  • The lifespan of a Li-ion battery is around 2 to 3 years, the battery capacity will be lower after circularly charged about 300 times.
  • (One full battery charge period means completely charged and completely discharged.)
  • If a battery is stored or otherwise unused for an extended period, be sure to follow the storage instructions in this document.
  • If the W50 fails to power on or charge, this indicates that there is usually a problem with the battery. the W50 has a removable battery, and we can provide you with a replacement battery , please contact our team of professional technical engineers (refer to section 5.0)
  • Store the battery at temperatures between 5 °C and 20 °C (41°F and 68°F).

Tip
While charging, the device and the charger may become hot and stop charging. This usually does not affect the device’s lifespan or performance and is in the device’s normal range of operation. For more solutions to battery woes, refer to Troubleshooting.
Charging the Device

  • The charger type is GME10D-050200FGu, output voltage/current is 5V DC / 2A. The plug is considered as a disconnect device of the adapter. Connect the device to the cable. The device turns on and starts charging. The charge/notification LED is blue when charging and changes to a steady green when fully charged.

Tip:
The standard battery charges from fully depleted to 90% in approximately seven hours and from fully depleted to 100% in approximately three hours. In many cases, 90% provides a significant charge for everyday use. Depending on usage, a 100% charge lasts approximately 14 hours.

Battery Usage Tips

  • Do not use the battery in direct sunlight or smoky and dusty environments
  • Do not strike, squeeze or step on the battery, nor throw it into liquid or fire.
  • If the battery is deformed or damaged, replace immediately
  • Any product warranty is only valid if batteries are supplied by YUBWVO
  • Charging time should not exceed 24 hours. Over-charging or
  • over-discharging may damage the battery
  • If the product is not being used for an extended period, whether in storage or otherwise, make sure to recharge the battery at least every 6 months.

Scanning
To read barcodes, a scanning-enabled application is required. The device contains the HardDecodeScan application. The function of the app is to allow the user to enable the scan processor, decode the barcode data and display the barcode content, outputting the barcode to the corresponding open app.

  • Ensure that an application is open on the W50 and that a text field is in the cursor
  • Place the top scanning head squarely on the barcode and press the scan button

Screenshot
Capture an image of your screen. Your device will automatically create a screenshot album in the Photos app.

  • Operation path: Scroll down the status bar > select the Screenshot function (if not on the first page swipe right to go to the second page)
  • tap Screenshot Long press the volume down and power button

Operation

Barcode Scan(Data capture)

This section provides information on using the various scanning options and scanning barcode data.
Th e HardDecodeScan app is an internal software application to test barcode scanning. Meanwhile, it can be used in some basic business scenarios depending on the customer’s choice. Please review this chapter for more information and details.

Please select “Motorola Two dimensional” in the Module selection to match and enable our inner scanner when you first time to use.

  • Tap to select more options.
  • Tap “Module selection” to choose Scan Module.
  • Select “Motorola Two dimensional”.

Scan App Settings
Scan settings allows you to set up common scan settings in this section, including the addition of prefixes and suffixes, virtual scan buttons, scan output modes, and the need to perform a restore if you encounter
a scan problem.

Turn on this option to apply the sound or vibrate reminder when scanning successfully.
Tip:
If there is still no sound after switching on, press and hold the volume button on to cancel the mute mode If you are experiencing problems with your scan head and are unable to produce light and recognise content, click on Scanner restored factory settings to fix the problem.

Change the output to be compatible with different software

You can change the output method in the input type for better compatibility with software output.

  • Broadcast Receiver: It is the method that uses the broadcast mechanism of Android to transfer data to the program.
  • Clipboard: Scan results will be saved in the clipboard, and can be pasted directly to anywhere with the cursor.
  • Widget input mode: All scan results will be input to the widget at once. Keyboard input mode (HID): Scan results will be input by virtual keyboard.

Tip:
If scanning output is not possible in the scanning software, please change to keyboard input mode.

Set prefix and suffix

  • Prefix: The prefixing numbers or letters will be added to the front of the output.
  • If you input ‘ABC’, and the original barcode is ‘12345’, then the final output will be as ‘ABC12345’.
  • Suffix: The suffixing numbers or letters will be added to the front of the output.
  • If you input ‘ABC’, and the original barcode is ‘12345’, then the final output will be as ‘12345ABC’.

Filter characters
In the scan output content, special content is prohibited from being output.

Barcode Settings
We’ve integrated some common Barcode settings in this section. Under this section, you will find ‘Base setting’ and some common barcodes of 1D and 2D. Some Settings need to be turned on manually.

  • Tap to select more options.
  • Tap “symbologies” to choose Bar code settings Click on the barcode to be set to access the secondary menu for barcode output settings

Network & Connect
This section provides manage connections between your device and a variety of networks and other devices.
Wi-Fi
You can connect your device to a Wi-Fi network to access the Internet without using your mobile data.

  1. From Settings, tap Network & Internet –> Wi-Fi, and then tap to turn on Wi-Fi and scan for available networks
  2. Tap a network, and enter a password if required.
  3. Tap Connect

Connect to a Hidden Wi-Fi Network

  1. From Settings, tap Network & Internet –> Wi-Fi, and then tap to turn on Wi-Fi and scan for available networks.
  2. Tap a network, and enter a password if required.
  3. Tap Connect
  4. Enter information about the Wi-Fi network:
  • Network name: Type the exact name of the network
  • Security: Select a security option from the list, and enter the password if required.
  • View more: Define other advanced options, such as IP and Proxy settings.

4. Tap Save.
Mobile Networks
Use Mobile networks to configure your device’s ability to connect to mobile networks and use mobile data. Insert a SIM card before using it, Options may vary by carrier

1. From Settings, tap Network & Internet  Mobile networks

  • Data roaming: Enable data roaming usage.
  • Preferred networks: Select the priority of sim cards or network type. Preferred network type: Choose your preferred Network type.
  • Access Point Names: Choose or add APNs, that have the network settings your device needs to connect to your provider.
  • Network operators: Choose available and preferred networks.

  1. rom Settings, tap System Reset options. The following options are available
  • Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth: You can reset Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings with Reset network settings.
  • Reset app preferences: You can reset all app preferences settings and will not lose any app data.
  • Erase all data (factory reset): You can reset your device to factory defaults, erasing all data from your device.

This action permanently erases ALL data from the device, including Google or other account settings, system and application data and settings, downloaded applications, as well as your music, photos, videos,
and other files.

Pistol grip connection
The handle unit is used to assist in scanning bar codes and can be quickly scanned by pressing the trigger button on the handle. (The handle is connected via Bluetooth, factory paired by default)

Note:
If the handle is disconnected please follow the tutorial below to reconnect

  1. Press the switch to ON to turn on the Bluetooth joystick (when turned on, the Bluetooth joystick will light up with a flashing blue light).

Tip:

If no blue light is emitted after pressing ON, please charge the handle first

Open the Settings App in the PDA to connect a Bluetooth device

  1. From Settings, tap Connected device -Bluetooth, and then tap to turn on Bluetooth.
  2. Tap a device and follow the prompts to connect.
  3. Select BLE-(Handle number) to connect to Bluetooth.
  4. The settings page indicates that the BLE-(Handle number) is connected.
  5. The light stays on for a successful connection

Button assignment App
This section is about customising the keypad software. The key customization software allows the customization of keystrokes including button mapping and broadcast call mode. Main function settings F1, F2 buttons. The ButtonAssignment app is a user-defined software for modifying button functions.

  • For general settings, click on CLICK THE ADD BUTTON to set up.

  • Keyboard broadcast mode, enable keyboard broadcast mode, capture

  • the key value and keep broadcast mode enabled, click on the

  • ButtonAssignment App to map to a specific key function

  • “CLICK THE ADD BUTTON” function for adding custom keys.

  • Once in the interface, press the button you need to customise.

  • Select SingleClick (Down), SingleClick(up),DoubleClick one of the ways to set up the operation.

  • Set the corresponding function mapping.

  • Click on PERSERVE to save.

Slide the switch to the right to enable the settings.

Can’t scan the code

| Out of scanning distance or angle.| Place the device within proper scanning range or angle.
The scanner can’t read the barcode.| Enable the type of barcode being scanned in the HardDecodeScan. Refer to the HardDecodeScan application.


Incorrect barcode process mode.

| Switch the input mode to the Keyboard input mode in the HardDecodeScan application.


The scan keycode is incorrect.

| Please go to the HardDecodeScan App click on Restore Scan Settings and enable the scan. If you are still unable to scan please contact the technical engineer team

The device does not boot up

The battery or device is faulty.

| Connect with the USB cable and check the device’s LED light. If the LED lights up, the Battery is faulty, otherwise is the device’s problem.

Cautions

  • Strictly observe the following instructions while installing and connect the device. Connect to a stable power socket, and try to avoid charging it together with high-power machines like air-conditioners.
  • Please try not to use the device during thunderstorms in case of a lightning stroke, and power off as well as cut off its connection to the host machine.
  • This is an electrical product, be sure not to let anything like a pin, thumbtack, wire or water slip into the device, or short circuit will be caused to destroy the device.
  • Be sure no heavy pressure on the device or place anything on it.
  • Prevent fierce vibration, strike or beat.
  • Ensure good working conditions, never use it in humid, high temperatures, sunburn, dustiness or frost environments, never get close to a strong electromagnetic field, and never use the device under flammable and explosive conditions.
  • Avoid plugging or swapping any part or peripherals when power is on, or it may cause inner hardware damage. Shut off the device before cutting power.
  • This device is integrated with a Lithium battery, change our original battery if needed. Other types battery may cause damage to the device. Contact us or our distributor when you need to change your battery.
  • Cut off power and stop operation if the device breaks down. DO NOT disassemble the device yourself.
  • Avoid sleet, solar exposure, mechanical shock or extrusion. Be careful when delivering.
  • The device should be kept in its original package, the temperature of the warehouse should be -20 C ~ 60C, and relative humidity should be 5% – 95%. No noxious gas, flammable, explosive or mordant chemicals are allowed to be together, ensuring no mechanical shock, impact or high magnetic
