Installation Procedures

STEP I. Base Cabinet Preparation

  • Measure the actual size of the sink; make sure the distance from the top of the cabinet to the top of the cabinet doors(dimension H) is greater than the apron height.
NOTE The cabinet opening should equal the maximum sink dimensions to ensure a minimum gap between the sink and the cabinet.

  • Apply painter’s tape to the cabinet to mark cuts and to protect the cabinet surfaces from any potential damage when cutting.

  • Cut the cabinet along the traced lines to create an opening that will allow the sink to slide in.

NOTE It’s highly suggested the cabinet be cut after receiving the actual sink. If the sink is not available at the time of cabinet preparation, make allowances to add cabinet filler strips to the opening after the frame and before the sink is installed.

STEP II. Countertop Preparation

  • Measure and sketch the cut-out area according to the measurements taken from the actual sink.
  • Cut the countertop

STEP III. Cabinet/Support Frame Construction and Installation

  • As is shown in the left illustration, the recommended support frame should be fabricated as follows:
  • Construct a framework that consists of two horizontally and four vertically extending wooden supports, as shown in the illustration.
  • Then craft a supporting board with a drain outlet clearance hole cut out on it; put the board on the top of the frame.
  • Ensure the distance from the top of the supporting board to that of the cabinet is identical to the maximum height of the sink; allow adequate clearance for the water supply lines.
  • After proper positioning, secure the support frame to the cabinet.

TIP Use clamps to hold the supports in position and secure the supports with construction adhesive and screws.(not provided)

NOTE Securing hardware should be positioned with consideration of easy removal in case the sink needs to be removed; due to the variety of installations possible with this sink, your installer may suggest a different support frame design

STEP IV. Sink Installation

CAUTION Risk of personal injury or product damage. Handle with care. Products can break, chip, cause injury or product damage if handled carelessly. Get help lifting the sink.

  • Carefully place the sink onto the support frame; verify the sink can properly fit in the cabinet opening and be supported by the frame. Make small adjustments if necessary.
  • Check for levelness with a spirit level and use shims to level the sink if needed

NOTE The top of the sink must be flush with that of the cabinet for proper undermount installation.

STEP V. Countertop Installation

  • Apply a bead of silicone sealant on the top of the sink where it would contact the countertop to create a watertight seal.
  • Carefully install the countertop and verify levelness; apply silicone sealant where the sink meets the cabinet; remove any excess silicone.
  • Install the water supply and drainage system as per the manufacturer’s instructions and run water to test for leakage
