INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
OXY 4-SO-HT-inst-V10 Air Purifier
WARNING!
Power supply can cause electrical shock. Be sure the UV power supply is
disconnected before installation begins.
Do not open the ballast unit as it is designated to be installed as one piece.
There are no service components inside.
UV light may affect plastics in the heating and cooling system. Select a
location that reduces lamp exposure to plastic components that are not UV
resistant.
Do not touch glass without gloves. Keep lamp surface clean.
Lamps contain small amounts of mercury. If lamp breakage occurs, clean area
and dispose with care.
To minimize the risk of UV exposure to skin and eyes, only power the lamp when
the installation is complete. Lamp illumination is confirmed by the UV safety
port window.
Disconnect power before all lamp change-outs or servicing. There are several
disconnects. We recommend completely disconnecting all power from electrical
power supply.

Recommended Install Location
HORIZONTAL SYSTEM
WARNING! DO NOT connect electrical power while installing. Turn off the equipment when connecting the unit to line voltage!
Testing unit prior to installation
Unit must have the duct base on to test operation It will not operate without the duct base in place – see diagram
To test the unit prior to installation the duct base plate MUST be installed – see diagram
NOTE: INSTALL ALL AIR PURIFIERS ON DRY & FLAT SURFACE; AWAY FROM
HUMIDIFIERS;
AWAY FROM HEAT EXCHANGERS – UP TO 190 OF / 87 O C AMBIENT TEMPERATURE !
Step 2
If using the gasket, peel the backing and stick to the duct surface. Place the
galvanized metal duct plate against the gasket or the duct surface. Next place
the black PVC Unit base on top of the metal plate and secure in all 3 in place
with the 4 self tapping screws provided. (Figure 2).
Step 3
Check that lamp is not dislocated from the socket.
Remove the Top & Bottom retaining screws and remove the catalytic chamber to
access lamp. (Figure 3)
Step 4 – Slide the complete assembly into the base plate as shown. Depress the upper & lower, UV module locking tabs, to “snap” into place. (Figure 4)
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
NOTE: CONSTANT POWER IS REQUIRED!
Step 5a) 120 volt for – 6ROX4SO10W7L & 6ROX4SO18W9L
For 120V – Install Power cord into the unit first, then connect to 120V
Outlet!
(Figure 5a) Check that the blue UVC LED light monitor on the front of the unit
is illuminated. This indicates that the internal UVC lamp is operating
properly. The units can be connected to 120V constant on line voltage. Power
cords are UL rated up to 300V.
TANDEM INSTALLATION
Step 5b) – Units can be connected in tandem with the power cord provided.
No extra cords are needed. Up to 4 units can be connected in tandem. Connect
the tandem units in series linking with the unit that will be connected to the
main power source. Once the tandem units are connected, connect the main unit
to power. Be sure all the blue UVC LED monitor lights on each unit are lit.
This will indicate that all internal UVC lamps are operating properly.

NOTE: DO NOT POWER TRANSFORMER UNTIL ALL CONNECTIONS ARE COMPLETE
Step 5c) – 24 volt power can be used for 10W&18W models only. DO NOT connect
the unit to the equipment low voltage transformer. A supplementary 24 Volt
40VA transformer is required.
DO NOT power the transformer until the entire UVC lamp system is installed &
connected. Prepare the power cord as shown and connect to the supplementary
transformer. (Figures 5c) The wires are not polarity dependent. The amperage
draw for the 18 Watt systems in 24Volt connection is 1.5A.
Connect to 40VA transformer
NOTE: Be sure to measure the 24 V transformer output voltage.
If the voltage output is less than 24 Volts DO NOT INSTALL.
The output voltage MUST be 24 Volts. Figures 5c

SIZING
The OXY 4 – 7” model (6ROX4SO10W7L) is factory pre-set for 1800 to 2400 Square
feet. If the square footage is smaller or larger you can adjust the oxidizer
output of this model by following the procedures below The output can be
increased (7e) or decreased (7f) to adjust for square footage or homeowner
preference. To make the adjustments follow the procedures below.
Step 7a
Slide the complete assembly out of base plate as shown (see Figure 7a)
Step 7b
Remove the Top & Bottom retaining screws for the Square Catalytic Assembly.
(see Figure 7b)
Step 7c
Remove the entire Catalytic Assembly to access lamp (see Figure 7c)
Step 7d
Lift the “lamp end” up to release from the lamp socket. (Figure 7d)
Note: Make sure access lid is on top
Step 7e
The Respicaire OXY 4 has parabolic metal catalytic clips on the dual lamps
inside each unit. To increase the oxidation effect completely remove the lamp
sleeves on one side of the lamp. (See figure 7e).
This will increase output. If more output is desired remove the lamp sleeves
on both lamp tubes.
Step 7f
To decrease the oxidizers one of the lamp tubes has two parabolic metal
catalyst sleeves. The extra top sleeve can be rotated to reduce the oxidation
effect. Rotating the clip will reduce the exposed lamp surface area decreasing
the oxidizers to the desired level. (See Figure 7f).
Step 7g
Insert New Lamp on angle. Gently press lamp down and “click in” (See Figure
7g) Note: Make sure access lid is on top
Step 7h
Slide the entire Catalytic Assembly onto UV module (see Figure 7h)
Step 7i
Secure the Top & Bottom retaining screws for the Square Catalytic Assembly.
(see Figure 7i)
Step 7j
Slide the complete assembly into base plate as shown (see Figure 7j)
Maintenance
The OXY 4 features 9000 hour UVC lamps. Annual replacement & maintenance is recommended to ensure optimum air cleansing & coil disinfection. Contact your local installer or customer service for assistance.
Warranty Information
The RESPICAIRE limited warranty covers any defect in materials or workmanship
for a period of five years in residential applications and 1 year in commercial
applications. All lamps have a one year limited warranty. The warranty period
commences on the purchase date of the product. The warranty does not cover any
damage from misuse, neglect or abuse. To make a warranty claim contact the
original installing contractor or Respicaire directly with a copy of an
original sales receipt or other evidence of the date of purchase. Respicaire
is a trademark of the TFI Company Inc.
Note: In some areas air cleaners and UV Lamp Systems are covered by
medical insurance and may be tax deductible if prescribed by a Physician. This
will vary according to local legislation. The following information is usually
