CARE AND MAINTENANCE

FOR LAUNDRY TUB:

  1. Only soap or qualified non-abrasive surface cleaner and water should be used for cleaning the thermoplastic sink. Rinse well and dry with soft cloth to prevent scratches.
  2. Clean grease, oil, paint, and ink stains with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Immediately rinse with water after stain removal.
  3. Avoid using razor blades or other sharp instruments that may damage or scratch the surface.

FOR FAUCET:

  1. Clean the area of the mounting holes before installing the faucet.

  2. To maintain the appearance of your faucet, always blot dry any water from the faucet’s surface.
Clean with a damp, non-abrasive sponge and wipe with a clean soft cloth. To remove water spots, apply warm water with a damp soft cloth. Always rinse thoroughly after using a cleaning agent.

  3. Although the finish is extremely durable, it can be damaged by some cleaners. DO NOT use detergent powder, polishing powder, granular detergent, or a nylon brush to clean.

  4. DO NOT use abrasive detergents. If used, rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

  5. DO NOT install in working environments less than 32 degrees F (0 degrees C).

  6. Shut off the water supply valves when the faucet will not be in use for an extended period of time.

  7. DO NOT install the faucet in a rusty or corrosive environment.

STEP 1: HOW TO PUNCH OUT FAUCET HOLES & INSTALL STEEL LEGS

TEHILA 14120 Utility Sink - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1

  1. Place the laundry tub on a clean surface, such as a blanket or carboard, and turn the tub upside down to allow for the removal of the pre-formed knockouts. These will accommodate the faucet that is going to be installed. The hole plugs may be removed by a flathead screwdriver or a small chisel and a hammer (see Fig. 1).

  2. While the tub is still upside down, insert the 4 steel legs into each corner socket (see Fig. 2).

  3. Use a hammer and a block of wood to drive each leg into the tapered socket until it is secure (see Fig. 3).
    CAUTION:
    • DO NOT strike the leg directly with the hammer. Place the block of wood against the leg, then strike the wood with the hammer.
    • DO NOT insert the leg all the way into the tapered socket. It’s okay if there is a gap between the tub and the corner of the steel leg. Verify that each leg is locked securely in place by gently tugging the leg.
    • DO NOT wiggle the leg back and forth, as this will loosen it from the tapered socket.

  4. Mount leveler to each leg. Note that there are two holes in the bottom of the leg at different locations. Select the proper hole that will allow access to the screwhead after the tub is in the desired location. Attach leveler with ¼ in. (0.63 cm.) bolt and nut and hand tighten it. DO NOT over-tighten it in this step (see Fig. 4).

  5. Gently turn the tub back to the correct position after the steel legs are installed.

  6. Position the laundry tub in your desired location. To adjust the level of the tub, move the levelers up or down. Tighten the nuts after adjusting the levelers to the desired level. Holes on the bottom of levelers are included for mounting the tub to the floor if desired (anchors not furnished).

MPORTANT: When installed correctly and the leg is secure, there WILL be a slight gap in the corner between the top of each leg and the bottom of the tub (image A). Do NOT attempt to insert and force past this gap to make them flush. This WILL crack the tub (image B).

STEP 2: INSTALLING THE FAUCET & SIDE SPRAYER

  1. Shut off the hot and cold water supply from the stop valves and remove the existing faucet and sink.

  2. From above the sink, slide the Faucet Shanks into the middle sink holes and position the faucet into the desired area (see Fig. 5).

  3. From underneath the sink, insert Washers3 into Faucet Shanks and tighten them with Mounting Nuts2 (see Fig. 6).

  4. Assemble the Side Sprayer4 by sliding the Side Sprayer Base5 into the hose (see Fig. 7).

  5. From above the sink, insert the assembled Side Sprayer into the sink hole, and tighten it with Large
    Mounting Nut (see Fig. 8).

  6. DO NOT CONNECT THE HOT & COLD SUPPLY LINES YET. SEE STEP 4 FOR CONNECTING SUPPLY LINES.

  7. From underneath the sink, push the black threaded end of the Side Sprayer Hose4 into the middle hose shank on the faucet until it clicks (see Fig. 9).

STEP BY STEP (see Fig. 10):

  1. Slide Slip Nut3 threads up onto the Tail-Piece2, and insert
Flanged Washer1 in top of Flanged Tail-Piece2.

  2. Tighten the top Tail-Piece2 to the Sink Strainer with Slip Nut3.

  3. Insert Slip Nut3 threads down and Washer4 in bottom end of the Tail-Piece2.

  4. Insert Slip Nut3 threads down onto Wall Tube5, then insert Slip Nut and Washer (not provided) onto other end of Wall Tube5.

  5. Place flanged end of Wall Tube5 into lower portion of J-Bend5 and tighten with Slip Nut3. If wall connection is standard 1 ½ in. threaded pipe, install wall tube directly into pipe and tighten Slip Nut and Washer (not provided).
NOTE: If wall connection is to 1 ½ in. plastic pipe, a Conversion Adapter, purchased separately, will be required for proper installation (see Fig. 11).

  6. Swing J-Bend6 to align with bottom of flanged Tail-Piece2.
Connect J-Bend6 to Tail-Piece2 and tighten it with Slip Nut3. If tail-piece is too long, a hacksaw or tubing cuter may be used to trim away excess material.

STEP 4: CONNECTING SUPPLY LINES TO STOP VALVES

  1. Install new water supply lines according to the manufacturer’s installation instructions. DO NOT reuse existing supply lines. (see Fig. 12).
  2. Turn on the hot and cold water shut off valves.
  3. CHECK FOR ANY LEAKS AT THESE CONNECTIONS BEFORE RUNING THE FAUCET. If leaks are found, tighten slightly until the leak stops.
  4. Run the faucet for at least a minute, then run the water with side sprayer for another minute, this will flush out any sediment that may have been dislodged during installation. While the water is running, check for any leaks.
    If leaks are found:
    (A) Tighten slightly until the leak stops.
