Congratulations and thank you for purchasing this Redbeard Effects pedal! This
little box of sonic exploration was dreamt up, designed, engineered, built,
tested and packaged in the UK by hand. We’re really proud of this pedal and we
hope you enjoy using & abusing it.
We’re obviously a big fan of all things fuzzy and distorted. And we LOVE how
different components make pedals distort in their own idiosyncratic ways. So
we decided to create a fuzz that had not just one type of ‘clipping’ mode, but
a choice of three. Behold!
WARNING!
One final note of warning. Particularly at higher gain settings, this pedal is
bonkers. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
HOW TO USE YOUR PEDAL!
First and foremost, plug your instrument into in ‘IN’ jack, and the ‘OUT’ jack into your amplifier. Sounds obvious, but we’ve all plugged in a pedal backwards before. Just make sure you don’t EVER do it again ok?
VOLUME : Sets the overall Volume. All the way down, you’re hearing nada.
All the way up, and well, you’re gonna know about it. This interplays with the
GAIN knob depending on what mode the ‘CLIP’ switch is set to.
TONE: All the way clockwise makes for brighter sounds, all the way anti-
clockwise makes for lower I bassier tones. This knob gives different results
depending on which ‘CLIP’ mode you use.
GAIN: Let the games begin! Turning this one up is going to rattle your
windows and shake your bones. Again, this is gonna behave differently
depending on which ‘CLIP’ mode you use.
CLIP: This is the special sauce mode selector. Three different clipping
options await! Each mode presents a different set of tonal behaviours which
interact with the other controls. The modes are as follows :
LOOSE : Germanium (Woolly, saggy response)
Middle Position : Silicon (Smooth and liquid response)
TIGHT : LEDs (Crisp and louder response)
BYPASS : If you hadn’t guessed, this one turns the effect on and off. One
click for on, one click for off. And yes, this pedal is True Bypass.
OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF!
POWER
This pedal is designed to work at voltages of 9V DC. Please employ the use of
a good quality, CENTRE NEGATIVE dedicated pedal power supply (such as the
GigRig Generator or Voodoo Labs Pedal Power Plus 2). DO NOT attempt to use
this pedal with other voltages or polarities. Frying this baby with the wrong
kind of power invalidates your warranty, and leaves telltale signs on the
circuit board. Please don’t do it!
WARRANTY
Our pedals are guaranteed for 2 years against manufacturing faults or defects.
This guarantee is applicable to the original owner and is NOT transferable.
COMPONENTS
All our pedals are made with extremely high quality components. 1% metalfilm
resistors, WIMA and Panasonic capacitors where possible and super robust,
through-hole gold-plated PCBs. We’ve chosen this approach to give you sonic
bliss, ultimate reliability and a super-low noise floor.
