IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions.

Important: This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or with a lack of experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and the risks involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. Never leave the appliance and its cord unsupervised and within reach of children less than 8 years old or irresponsible persons when it is plugged into the wall or when it is cooling down.

  • Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.

  • Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. Keep out of reach of children or incompetent persons.

  • From time to time check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician(*).

  • Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.

  • Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.

  • Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.

  • Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.

  • Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.

  • To ensure a major security, it is recommended to set up a current flight jump 30 mA in the electric circuit that supplies the bathroom.
    Ask your electrician for advice.

  • Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer.
    They could be dangerous to the user and risk damaging the unit.

  • Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.

  • Protect your appliance from splashes and do not use it in a bath, under the shower or when you are in contact with water or near a sink or other container filled with water! However, should the appliance happen to fall into the water:

    • immediately unplug it
    • do not put your hands into the water
    • make sure your appliance is verified by a competent qualified electrician (*) before using it again.
  • When using the hair straightener in the bathroom, always unplug it when not in use as the proximity of water could constitute a danger even when the hair straightener is switched off.

  • Always make sure your appliance is not wet (water splashes, …) and never handle it with wet hands.

  • Unplug the appliance when not in use or even if you put it down only for a moment.

  • Inevitably the ceramic plates become hot during use. Make sure the cord does not come into contact with the plates when using the appliance and avoid contact with the skin in order to avoid injuries.

(*) Competent qualified electrician: after-sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In case of need you should return the appliance to this electrician.

OPERATION

  • Select the accessory according to the desired hair style.
  • Install the desired accessory on the air outlet of the appliance. You should hear a “click” when it is locked in.
  • Press the On/Off button to start or stop using the appliance.
  • Remove the accessory from the air outlet by pressing the accessory unlock button and gently pulling the accessory out at the same time.

Hair drying

  • Select the hair drying or the half brush accessory.
  • Use the appliance on wet hair.
  • Maintain a 5-10cm distance between the appliance hot air outlet and your hair to avoid any damages.

Hair straightening

  • Select the hair straightening accessory.
  • Use on dry and untangled hair.
  • Position the appliance as closely as possible to the roots and take a section of approximately 3-5cm into the pliers.
  • Slowly glide the hair straightener from the roots to the ends. When you get to the ends, turn the hair straightener in a half-circle inward (or outward).
  • Repeat this process several times if necessary in order to obtain an optimal result.
  • To give more volume to your hair, use an upward motion to lift the roots from the scalp when the appliance is close to the roots, i.e. at the beginning of the straightening process.

Hair curling

  • Select one of the round brushes accessory.
  • Position the appliance as closely as possible to the roots and take a section of approximately 3-5cm wide.
  • Wrap gently the section around the brush.
  • Curl under the heat for between 5 and 10 seconds depending on your hair strength.
  • Release the section by untangling the section of hair out of the brush.

Notes:

  • Don’t use the appliance without accessory locked on.
  • Never use this appliance on synthetic hair or wigs.
  • Should the hair dryer stop working for any reason, turn it off at once and let it cool down.
  • Always ensure the switch is set to OFF position before (un)plugging the unit.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

  • Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.

  • Make sure the air inlet and outlet grid are free of blockage : to clean the grilles, use a vacuum cleaner to unblock the holes.

  • You can clean the housing of the appliance with a soft damp cloth.
    Make sure the appliance is completely dry before using it again.

  • Store it in its box or in a dry place. Never store it while it is hot or still plugged in.

  • Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance.

  • Never hang the unit by the cord itself but use the dedicated hanging loop.

  • Disentangle the cord before and after use.

PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT – DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU

In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the implication of both suppliers and users. For this reason, as indicated by the symbol on the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it to a municipal collection point performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in accordance with the directive.

ERP DECLARATION – REGULATION 1275/2008/EC

We, TKG SRL, hereby confirm that our product meets the requirements of regulation 1275/2008/EC. Admittedly, our product does not dispose of a function to minimize the power consumption, which should according to regulation 1275/2008/EC put the product in off or standby mode after finishing the main function, but this is practically impossible, as it would compromise the main function of the product so strongly, that using the product would no longer be possible!

For this reason we always tell the customer in our instruction manual to unplug the appliance immediately after use.
